CVU Polish translation[edit]

Here it is. i created Polish translation of CVU bot.

BTW: This bot is on #pl.wikipedia channel, not #pl.wikipedia.vandalism. I think that $remove($chan, .vandalism,$chr(35)) could be cutted to $chan. It is up to you, because with first code will work anyway. Hołek ҉ 10:51, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Altruism[edit]

Hey. I noticed a small curiosity on your user page, namely Theoretically I am an altruist, but I am him only by word, not by acting. ;). Did you notice that by language interference (Polish on being used for every noun and that..) you used "him" for an abstract concept, probably unconsciously, but English doesn't do that, "he" only refers to a living being. But if it's meant to be like that, then disregard me. :) PeepP 15:04, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

I know you listed your English as on the "level 2", but don't worry, you seem to be doing nicely otherwise, judging by the same page - so don't be taken aback. I just wanted to know if you were aware of what you wrote, and think it's an interesting case.
I would write that sentence simply as "Theoretically I am an altruist, but only by word, not by my actions.".
PS. You can reply to me on this same page, as I have it on my watchlist.
PPS. Crashday is cool. PeepP 16:38, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Nice Buddy[edit]

Do you know the PUFFY song Hajimari no Uta? It translates as Nice Buddy right??? Well how come the Do As Infinity song Shinjitsu no Uta translates as TRUE SONG? Wouldn't Hajimari no Uta translate as "Buddy Song" or "Friend Song." Correct me if I'm wrong O.K.

The "Bicycling" user box - why change the location?[edit]

What was your purpose in changing the address syntax (location) of the Wikipedian "Bicyclist" user box? I went onto my user page one morning and found a different icon there... I'm sure a bunch of other people did, too. What's it about?--Joel Russ 15:50, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Sudoku Userbox Image Superseded?[edit]

See... Sudoku-by-L2G-20050714.gif (Image:Sudoku-by-L2G-20050714.gif)

The page for that image recommends replacing it by...

Sudoku-by-L2G-20050714.svg (Image:Sudoku-by-L2G-20050714.svg)

I.e. replace Sudoku-by-L2G-20050714.gif with Sudoku-by-L2G-20050714.svg in User:Holek/Userboxes/Sudoku.

Unless you feel the image recommendation is wrong, I guess.--SportWagon 00:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello! A while ago you signed up to help translate articles from other Wikipedias at Wikipedia:Translators available.

This page has since become obsolete and has been replaced by two userbox templates.

If you are still interested in translating, you may sign up again by using one of the following userboxes on your userpage (while changing, of course, the codes according to the languages you speak):

   {{Translator|es|Spanish}}
   {{Proofreader|fr|French}}

We hope to see you soon on Wikipedia:Translation!

Re: CVGIBmaker[edit]

Actually, what you see is what you get. :o) I made sure all the code could simply fit on one page so anyone could download it and/or view the source at any time. So really just right-click on the page, choose "View page source" or whatever, and all the code's right there. If you have additional questions on how stuff works and what does what (my comments in the code may not be sufficient), feel free to ask. Thanks, and good luck with translation! --ADeveria 17:07, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm afraid I've had to revert your massive removal of content from this article - although WP is not a game guide, a lot of relevant information was removed, and any large content removal should be discussed at length on the talk page first. And do you know the section under that, ...but don't be reckless? Read it, you'll get my point. I'll work on cleanup, then we can see about reintroducing the information. —Vanderdeckenξφ 18:00, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:PREVIEW_-_Millencolin_-_Phony_Tony.ogg[edit]

Nuvola apps important.svg

Thanks for uploading Image:PREVIEW_-_Millencolin_-_Phony_Tony.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 21:19, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Crashday logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Crashday logo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ysangkok 22:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Redirect of 1985 Source: A Half-life 2 modification[edit]

Information icon.svg

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on 1985 Source: A Half-life 2 modification, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because 1985 Source: A Half-life 2 modification is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting 1985 Source: A Half-life 2 modification, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in the recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

No-interwiki tool[edit]

Greetings! I found your tool that shows 1000 articles with no interwiki links in Wikimedia projects given certain criteria. That's great, because it gives one a bit more options than the standard Special:WithoutInterwiki list, which is also limited to 1000 entries but only lists them alphabetically. I wonder, however, if it would be possible to implement a feature that would let one see articles beginning with certain letters or combination of letters, as well?--Morel (talk) 03:26, 10 March 2012 (UTC)

This is in reference to a relatively new umbrella article on en-wikipedia named Ceremonial pole. Ceremonial pole is a human tradition since ancient times; either existed in past at some point of time, or still exists in some cultures across global continents from north to south & from east to west. Ceremonial poles are used to symbolize a variety of concepts in several different world cultures.

Through article Ceremonial pole we intend to take encyclopedic note of cultural aspects and festive celebrations around Ceremonial pole as an umbrella article and want to have historical, mythological, anthropological aspects, reverence or worships wherever concerned as a small part.

While Ceremonial poles have a long past and strong presence but usually less discussed subject. Even before we seek translation of this article in global languages, we need to have more encyclopedic information/input about Ceremonial poles from all global cultures and languages. And we seek your assistance in the same.

Since other contributors to the article are insisting for reliable sources and Standard native english; If your contributions get deleted (for some reason like linguistics or may be your information is reliable but unfortunately dosent match expectations of other editors) , please do list the same on Talk:Ceremonial pole page so that other wikipedians may help improve by interlanguage collaborations, and/or some other language wikipedias may be interested in giving more importance to reliablity of information over other factors on their respective wikipedia.

This particular request is being made to you since your user name is listed in Wikipedia:Translators available list.

Thanking you with warm regards Mahitgar (talk) 05:59, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
