Good work

Exceptional newcomer, awarded 13th April, 2007, by Bhadani to Mayank Abhishek --Bhadani (talk) 11:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello Mayank. I am also from Ranchi, and currently in Pondicherry. I have been watching your progress on wikipedia with interest. Please keep up the good work. All the best! --Bhadani (talk) 11:19, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I suggest that you activate your e-mail by going to my preferences. This will facilitate other users to send you wikipedia mails by using the link on the left side bar. It is also useful in many other cases. For example, once I forgot my password, and requested for supply of a new one which I could get as my e-mail was active. --Bhadani (talk) 14:54, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Hindi Wikipedia

Namaskar Mayank! You seem to be very fond of Hindi so I invite you to join the Hindi Wikipedia, this is the मुखपृष्. Please help build the Wiki of one of the most beatiful and underepresented languages here. About half a year ago, there were only 1000 articles on Hindi Wiki. Some languages spoken by 3 million people had 10000 articles. Now Hindi Wiki has developed a community and we hope that the community grows. धन्यवाद GizzaChat © 10:25, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

As a matter of fact, I have already joined it.

Welcome to WP:India

Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the India WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of India.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every India article in Wikipedia.
  • Can you code? The automation department uses automated and semi-automated methods to perform batch tasks that would be tedious to do manually.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! — Lost(talk) 17:52, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Mayank Abhishek. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:DAV JAM LOGO.JPG) was found at the following location: User:Mayank Abhishek. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 23:53, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello Mayank Abhishek, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:SNCS logo.gif) was found at the following location: User:Mayank Abhishek. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. Fair Use Rationale Needed

Add something like this to your Logo files:

This logo is fair use in the article Sacred Heart Convent School (Jamshedpur) for the following reasons:

  1. This is a low resolution image.
  2. The image is used in an article about the school and is integral to the article.
  3. The use of the image is unlikely to affect the future marketing of the image by the copyright holder.
  4. A free use image is not available.

and they will not likely be removed. You need a text fair-use rationale even if you have the liecensing correct. Have also created a {{{{Schools in Jharkand}} template that you may find useful. You can edit to add schools as you deem fit. Good luck. Kool gall1991 18:47, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Tanushree pose.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tanushree pose.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 13:06, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:SNCS_logo.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:SNCS_logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 13:55, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
