Welcome back :) Stolen Earth got promoted on Saturday, and hopefully MITD will go the same way. We need to induct you into the FA club ;) Sceptre (talk) 20:06, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well done! Heh, I agree. I'm not great at making all these fiddly little fixes, but it is getting there. Seraphim♥Whipp 20:14, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

AFC proposal
WikiProject Articles for Creation needs your input! | |
---|---|
I have made a detailed proposal for a new entry process for WP:AFC. As you were involved in the discussion after the last trial, I particularly invite your comments at the page WT:WikiProject Articles for creation/Proposed new entry process#Modifications and proposal for new trial.
Thanks! MSGJ 09:58, 24 August 2008 (UTC) |

Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice
Hi,
As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.
We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.
You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.
We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

Sceptre
I don't know you all that well, we've worked together once, but um, since I remember there being a lot of conversations with Sceptre while I was replying to your questions and stuff, I think you guys were pretty close. Well, um, Sceptre seems to be done editing here for a long time. Don't worry, he'll be back after a long break, I hope. Read his userpage for more please. --Lord₪Sunday 03:05, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- I saw part of the situation regarding Sceptre before I left. It took me a moment to figure out who you are. Have you seen the new AfC process? It's looking good. Seraphim♥Whipp 14:32, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Linking to e-mails which release images under a particular license
Hello there, remember me? I have been quite busy with the Europa Barbarorum article of late and this has included me sending the mod's development team an e-mail asking them to release media related to the mod under GFDL; I have now received a reply saying they release parts of it under Creative Commons and have forwarded those two e-mails to "permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org" per the instructions at WP:ERP.
Now, my question is, how do I link to those e-mails in some way when I actually upload some images? I.e. will Permissions-en reply to me with some identifying tag for those two e-mails I can use? And what template do I need to link to such agreements, so that I can prove that the images are indeed free use? I remember that there were serious issues with the images on the Europa Barbarorum article last time round, so I would like to make sure that everything is fine this time round! Thanks in advance. It Is Me Here (talk) 06:51, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hey! I do remember. Great work btw! If you send the emails to a user with WP:OTRS access (Avraham is one such person), the emails will receive a ticket which will then be added on the image description page (example of an image with OTRS ticket). Seraphim♥Whipp 14:55, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- OK, thanks, I've now sent Avraham an e-mail regarding all this. It Is Me Here (talk) 15:40, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- No problem :). Seraphim♥Whipp 15:46, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Spam enquiry
Why on earth can I not post links to TSB reviews? It's an active site that reviews 20+ albums a week, many of them higher profile indie and instrumental albums. Why is this "spam" if Pitchfork, Drownedinsound, Stylus, and others are allowed to link? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.164.185.2 (talk) 16:34, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- It's more the speed and volume of reviews that you have added (over 50 in 2 hours), all to one particular site. The combination strongly suggests that Wikipedia is being used to promote the website. This isn't allowed. The other sites you mentioned are considered professional and reliable. Seraphim♥Whipp 16:41, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- So TSB is considered unprofessional and unreliable? The site has a large back catalog of reviews; if they were linked gradually, would this have been acceptable? Many of the pages where I linked had links to sites that also do not have wikipedia pages, why is TSB to be excluded? Can anything be done to change this, or are we to be forever banned? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.164.185.2 (talk) 16:47, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
- I checked out the website before removing the links. I also couldn't find any external sites that had commented on "The Silent Ballet" as a website. As it is, The Silent Ballet doesn't meet the inclusion criteria to have an article. The knock-on effect is that there is no way of knowing that it is reliable and subject to fact-checking in reviews. I'm sorry to have hurt your feelings; please don't take it personally. I shall take another look through the articles you edited to remove the other links you mentioned. Brenda Song discography proposed deletion
Ive put this proposed deleting tag on that page,so reaad it because you are one fo the only admin things that edit dat page read the deleting reasoan. Thanx 4 ur time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sosdonna90210 (talk • contribs)
- Hello there Sosdonna90210. Welcome to wikipedia! I read through your rationale. You make some valuable points with regards to the spinout of an article section prematurely, however, I think this article does have value. The singer seems to have undertaken a number a different projects, so the information seems better documented on a separate discography page rather than crammed into the main article. RE:Quick question
Obviously, your standards are different, I realize now that in broader terms your standards are recognized. Thanks for the heads up, I copied them from months ago, I'll fix that. ;) Scattered disc I copy edited and cleaned up rather substantially. — Ceranthor [Formerly LordSunday] 20:30, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

I just replaced 100px for this free picture 200px which is licensed under CreativeCommons Attribution (cc-by).
It will be used in the articles Dallas Green (musician) and City and Colour.
Please let me know if any problem arises. I am in the process of getting better at uploading files that abides by Wikipedia's rules.
Thanks, have a nice day!
