a heads-up
[edit]I noticed your question about Misty Edwards. I suspect if I had participated in the deletion review I may have strongly argued for preserving the article. If Ms Edwards genuinely measures up to our notability standards then her desire not to be covered by the wikipedia should be considered completely irrelevant. In the past we only deleted articles on individuals, who requested deletion, when, (1) upon closer examination, there was a consensus that the individual didn't measure up to the current notability standards; or (2) there was a consensus that their notability was "borderline".
I won't go on record, without seeing the actual article, but, since we cover her discography, and some of her albums, I would be very surprised if Ms Edwards were not "clearly notable". If she is genuinely "borderline" there is tradition to give the article about her a courtesy deletion -- but if she was "clearly notable", she would once have been out of luck. I, for one, would strongly object to evolving to give courtesy deletion of neutral well referenced articles of clearly notable people, for the reasons User:DGG articulated.
I invite you to look at the deletion review and subsequent AFD for Jeffrey H. Norwitz.
Frankly, I am surprised at how firmly other contributors felt we should honor Ms Edwards's desire not to be covered by the wikipedia.
Have you considered porting the article to a non-WMF wiki? If you were essentially the only author of intellectual content to the second version of the article you are completely entitled to re-use it elsewhere. If it consists of intellectual content you wrote you are under no obligation to even mentioned it once existed here. http://en.wikialpha.org is a small alternate wiki with less onerous notability criteria, which also supports a relatively rich subset of the templates our articles rely on. Many alternative wikis don't support templates, like {{cite}}. Porting material to one of those is a lot of work.
If you try doing this don't hesitate to email me if you want help.
I'd like to look at your preferred draft of the Misty Edwards article. Port it, and I will do so there.

- I have no idea why the subject wanted the bio removed--her request to OTRS did not specify. In the past entertainers have sometimes wanted it deleted when they have an earlier career they have changed or repudiated, but I have no way of knowing whether this is the case here. I some such cases I might not oppose deletion. But her career in Christian music seems impeccable and is continuing. t But I am not at all clear why she was judged not clearly notable. I see you have added an article at Misty Edwards discography& for two of her recent albums. She had albums with respectable charting--but this is not my field. there might be a case for Deletion Review, but I suggest you check first with someone who knows how we handle these topics. I wouldn't even know who to ask. You might start though, wit h those who voted for deletionand ask them if what is there is sufficient. DGG ( talk ) 04:17, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

- Hillsong/Hillsong Live was the first band, with songwriters and leaders Darlene Zschech, Reuben Morgan and others, and later Marty Sampson. Then came UNITED. They're all quite different in style and members. I think a stand-alone Hillsong article is needed. Should be enough for an article based on the content at list of Hillsong albums and template:Hillsong albums. The thing that motivated me was the recent move of All Things Are Possible. Friendly Bit of Criticism
[edit]I couldn't help noticing that a lot of your articles on Christian punk bands seem to keep using the same group of subgenres, including skate punk, hardcore punk, pop punk, and alternative rock, sometimes even on the same band. It's very rare that any one band is all of these things, which makes it very confusing to someone who isn't familiar with these bands to figure out what genre they actually are (not to mention to put in genre categories and figure whether they belong on certain lists - I'm talking about me, if you haven't guessed). I would recommend sticking mainly to one umbrella genre (say, Christian punk) and subgenres as identified by the article's sources (Cross Rhythms, Indie Vision, Allmusic, etc.), so that they are easier to tag.--Invisiboy42293 (talk) 03:07, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Timelines for Musicians
[edit]Hey Cross Bearer, I'm thinking of experimenting with timelines and placing them on musician pages. For instance I'll use Stephen Keech as an example. Keech has been in Haste the Day, New Day Awakening, and As Cities Burn. Haste the Day would be Green, New Day Awakening would be Red, and As Cities Burn would be Blue (with a line of magenta, due to him being a touring member of their). What do you think? --Metalworker14 (Yo) 18:54, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Metalworker14: Go for it! I would advise you to prove his notability first, with coverage of him as a solo musician outside of the bands he was a member and vocalist. The Cross Bearer (talk) 03:41, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Oh sorry, that wasn't aimed at you! I didn't check the edit history and assumed it was another IP editor who goes around adding predictions of peaks on US charts. But thank you! Ss112 12:26, 17 November 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Knights of the New Crusade
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Knights of the New Crusade requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. DYK for Mr. Misunderstood
[edit]On 27 November 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mr. Misunderstood, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Eric Church's album Mr. Misunderstood was released with no prior warning and sent to his fan club members the day before it went on sale? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mr. Misunderstood. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

United Pursuit
[edit]Hello. Is there a reason you did not include albums from the time they were known as Will Reagan & United Pursuit? I made an edit to change this, but I was wondering why you chose not to include it.
Thanks!
It's OK. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Superipod10 (talk • contribs) 17:39, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Kolby Koloff
[edit]Hello The Cross Bearer,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kolby Koloff for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Lithorien (talk) 02:37, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
