This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Simon Peter Hughes (talk | contribs) at 05:07, 15 September 2016 (No need for picture to be so huge. Since "Buddhist Pantheon" redirects to "Japanese Buddhist pantheon' and Esoteric Buddhism appears to be primarily Indian, I think a link to "Pantheon (religion)" is more appropriate.). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

The Heavenly King Zōchō.

Virūḍhaka (Sanskrit: विरूढक, Sinhala: විරෑඪ, Japanese: 増長天 Zōjō-ten, Vietnamese: 增長天 Tăng Trưởng Thiên, Chinese: 増長天 Zēngzhǎngtiān) is one of the Four Heavenly Kings and an important figure in Buddhist mythology. He is part of the pantheon of Esoteric Buddhism.[1]

His name means “He who enlarges” or “Patron of Growth”, and he is the guardian of the South.
