Please undelete the CURM article. I am a part-time employee for CURM and I wasn't aware there was a time limit. There are changes I would like to make to the article and then resubmit it. We have been waiting for some additional published articles on CURM in order to increase the number of references (one of the reasons it was previously rejected.) Thank you.

Bangladesh Buddhist Students' Council

I am a member of Bangladesh Buddhist Students' Council. Its been 6 years we have established it. We have already our facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/teambbsc/ . And a page https://www.facebook.com/teambbsc . we already stepped to create our own website. It needs some time. So I/We wanted to create an article of our organization 'Bangladesh Buddhist Students' Council' on Wikipedia. i was going to add our logo and events details on this morning.   • The issue is that ultimately there was nothing there to show how your group is ultimately notable enough to warrant an entry on Wikipedia. Just existing as a student council is not enough to pass notability guidelines- the group would have to have received coverage in reliable sources (WP:RS) that are independent of your group and in places that would be considered reliable per Wikipedia's guidelines. This usually means that your group has received in-depth coverage in newspapers and other media outlets that are not affiliated with your group or school. There was also an issue with promotion since you listed the group's goals and objectives in a manner that came across as you trying to promote the group. This may have been unintentional, but that's part of the reason why Wikipedia typically tends to recommend that people with a conflict of interest (WP:COI) not create their own page since it's so easy to make something seem promotional when that wasn't the intent. Offhand I don't know that the group would pass notability guidelines because the notability requirements on here are fairly strict (WP:ORG) and a quick search did not really bring up anything to show that the Bangladesh Buddhist Students' Council has received enough news and media coverage to prove otherwise. In my understanding, the page was deleted for wrong reasons. The page depicts the information about a portal that has gained huge popularity in India and is serving as an educational portal too. The page also mentiones its achievements as a non for profit organizations and the different initiatives it has taken to make people aware of their rights in ots best possible capacity. If even this statement of pacts turns out to be advertisement, I believe advertisement and statement of facts would be synonymous then. Kindly make a review and undelete the page. I will be highly grateful for this kindness of yours.

  • Not done Advertisement and statements of facts are not synonymous on Wikipedia. They are very, very different. This is where Wikipedia differs from other sites that would be considered routine database websites where you can be promotional and it's accepted, even encouraged by the webmasters. The long and short is that the page was still promotional and even then, I don't see where the organization passes notability guidelines. It doesn't matter how good their work is (WP:NOTSOAPBOX), if they haven't received coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the group and are in depth, they don't pass the notability guidelines and cannot have an article on Wikipedia. Notability is decided on coverage, not merit. Doing good things can make it more likely that someone or something will gain coverage, but sadly it is not a guarantee.   • Also, WP:A7 articles in general are not restored through here. You can ask the deleting admins, but I think that it would be unlikely that they would restore the page given that it had promotional overtones throughout the article and would (at best) require a complete re-write to meet WP:NPOV guidelines. You could also try going through deletion review (WP:DRV) but I think that they'd probably agree that right now the organization does not appear to pass notability guidelines. Makara vyuha

the reason specified for the page deletion is imaginary and the concept is discussed only in mahabaharata but isnt every religion we know about based on some or other fact that we may tag to be imaginary but that dosent mean the the thing is real or not these vyuhs discussed in mahabaharata are something that we may want to know about just because the formation was discussed only in mahabaharata dosent mean that it is imaginary and we have every right to know it if it is stated in a text as old as mahabaharata -103.226.7.190 (talk) 16:17, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

 Question: - please give the exact title of the deleted page you mean. We have never had an article Makara vyuha, or Makara Vyuha, or any of the variations I have tried. Obviously guessing is not our job but I always take it as a fun challenge to try to track down what a user might have meant in a cryptic post like this. My stretched guess is Shakatavyuha(Cart Formation) which has "vyuha" as part of it's name, was recently deleted, and mentions mahabaharata in its text.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 20:51, 2 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think so, because at Bhishma#Strategic Formations: the Vyuha there are eight vyuhas listed, and that's a different one. I agree, it's a challenge, and that list gives new ideas for searches like Makara vyuha (crocodile formation), but I haven't found anything on those lines, either. (e/c) Done A history merge has been performed. In the future just make edits directly. This draft was technically a copyright violation by the way (though not the type we nuke on sight). You must provide proper copyright attribution when you copy an existing page (or content from one article into another). See WP:PATT for how to provide attribution. It's much better to make such edits directly. In this case a history merge was not a problem because there was no overlapping edits but when there are, it is a problem, and then we have to just do a merge (which is different than a history merge) and messily requires the merge-from page to remain permanently somewhere because it's history is the source of the merged content (to be clear one person can copy a page to a draft, work on its there, and then if that same person makes their drafted changes to the existing article, and the draft incorporates no changes from other people, there is no copyright issue and no merge is needed).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:58, 3 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

To answer your question: all new pages are looked at by volunteer New Page Patrollers in order to filter out advertisements, attack pages, copyright violations etc, and to flag articles that need attention. Your user name naturally suggests that you are the subject of the article, or are related to her. I suggest that you read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide and explain on the article talk page what connection you have with the subject, if any. Wikipedia has an inclusion criterion called Wikipedia:Notabilitywhich is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." The test is, have people not connected with the subject thought it significant enough to write substantial comment about? See also Wikipedia:Notability (summary).

As the deleting admin, let me note that Yankees has repeatedly resisted my explanation and reminder that this article didn't have any secondary sources; all he's done is insist that the guy passed WP:BIO, despite providing no evidence for such a statement, let alone evidence of the significance that would ward off an A7 speedy. Note that administrators have broad consensus to bypass deletion discussion, at their discretion, and immediately delete Wikipedia pages or media in a few situations, and this is one of those situations. We are rather more picky these days about obviously incomplete articles in the mainspace: people are encouraged to use the new Draft namespace or a Userspace draft to develop new articles before posting them. The Orbital

The Orbital is the student publication for Royal Holloway, University of London. The Wikipedia page contained a significant amount of historical information about the publication that's been in existence since 1989. This information is not contained or stored in another central location. For that reason its deletion is a disservice to the philosophy of Wikipedia.   • On a side note, an organization's existence does not automatically mean that it is notable. Longevity does make it more likely that there will be coverage in reliable sources, but it is not a guarantee. Also, the usefulness of an entry (WP:ITSUSEFUL) is not a reason to keep a page in and of itself.   • Not done I was going to restore this, but the issue I have is that there are several areas that are written in such a non-neutral point of view that they come across as promotional. I'd recommend against having an entire section talking about George's spirituality and how he wants to serve God, as something like that should only be a brief mention unless George's spirituality has been extensively covered in reliable sources independent of George. The same thing goes for the long sections about his personal background and upbringing: stuff like that should be summarized and really only covered in any depth if it is extensively covered in independent reliable sources (WP:RS). I'd also recommend avoiding headings like "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE - Performance for the World Record" because those also come across as promotional in tone. Even if you do add more sources to show notability the article would still require a complete and total re-write to fit Wikipedia's WP:NPOV guidelines. I'd also like to give a slight warning: world records don't always grant complete notability- sometimes they can if they are widely covered enough or recognized by an organization that is trusted by Wikipedia, but the whole reliability thing is key- there are sadly a lot of places that will claim to recognize you for a world record but it's really just about putting money in their pocket. (The Guinness Book of World Records has come under fire for this as of late.) I also have to say that I'm somewhat concerned about his notability as a whole since I don't really see any true coverage in a quick search, but I have no problem with you trying to create a new AfC entry. Kappa Psi Epsilon

In addressing the reasons stated for deletion, the significance of the organization Kappa Psi Epsilon is it's standing on the Rutgers University Newark Campus as the oldest, still recognized, sorority on campus. Technically speaking, because the other two Rutgers campuses don't have recognized local sororities, it is the only remanding local sorority in the Rutgers University community. This can be verified through the 'Greek Life' pages of all three campuses. In addition, other Universities have their local organizations listed, with less significance such as Sigma Delta from Darthmoth College. @Tokyogirl79: @Hasteur: sorry, did not intend to wheel-war about this. I declined a speedy last night because I misread 28 Sep 13, date of the last substantial edit, as 28 Sep 14 and told EoRdE6, the nominator, that it was premature. S/he pointed out my mistake this morning and I deleted it, not knowing that it had been deleted and restored in the meantime. I will of course restore it on request, or will not complain if you do, but I think that would be a waste of time as IMO it has zero chance of being an article - subject is a fan-group with 30 members. JohnCD IIRC, This was a eSports clan/team much the same way that Team Liquid is (which is why I commented on the draft to show a similar article) to hopefully spark the user's interest) not a fan-group. I would have preferred that you not have re-deleted the page again as my edit was defenitely invalidating G13 (as a real user had edited) and given the advocate (or one of the volunteers at AFC or a draft hunter) time to improve, but since I'm already being harassed to oblivion by Eo, I'm not going to make any more stink about it.  Not done. from the file history, something evidently went wrong with the first transfer to Commons on 28 Oct 2012, but the file was then successfully transferred on 28 Aug 13, size 56 kb, and is still on Commons - click the blue-link above. I participated in the DR on commons, that's no problem. I want the original big file on commons, if it still exists here (assuming that the bug wasn't only an erroneous number 5375947.) I've looked at the deleted file - the image is identical with the current one, perhaps a slightly higher-contrast version, but the same size, 200 × 267. The size is indeed shown as 5,375,947 bytes, so there must be something very peculiar about it - that's more than 100 bytes per pixel.
Looking further, the Commons file history page shows that on 28 Aug 203 McZusatz uploaded the new version and then "changed visibility of a revision on page File:Цвиркун.JPG: content hidden (Absurd overhead)", implying that it's still there on Commons but hidden. @Be..anyone: there was something very peculiar about the file. Either the image generation script went awry and stored a bunch of unnecessary information at the end, or the uploader had something more nefarious in mind. I cannot figure out which of the two by basic inspection of the file, but there is no reason to have the original around. Okay, so something big existed, was seriously broken, and only an embedded {{nowcommons}} thumbnail was usable. On the day when I stumbled over this oddity I copied a big Paco Peña in 1984.jpg here over a tiny thumbnail on commons (help desk request), and wondered if something with the transfers is systematically wrong. But I think probably your article was deleted on the Turkish Wikipedia, which is a separate organization, and you will have to ask about it there. 1. I am here to request a restoration of Tarek Najm's page on Wikipedia. The page was deleted on November by the administrator : Secret. The reason was irrelevant references been added on this page. First of all, I add some departments Tarek Najm run in the Microsoft as references since these department pages include hyperlink to Tarke's page. I think it may good to also include these departments page's link in Tarek' page if audiences want to go back. 2. I made some changes for Tarek's profile since I found out he already left Microsoft in 2013. Therefore, I updated his current status and occupations in order to provide more accuracy information. Last, even the administrator believed I should not add these references or updated information in Tarek's page, he can contact me or simply remove the references or additional information. It's very surprising that the administrator quickly made a decision to delete the entire page which already exists in Wikipedia for 4-5 years. I left messages on Secret's talk page to ask for restoration of Tarek Najm's page until Secret's quit suddenly. Could you please help to review this case, reconsider the deletion decision? I wish you can approve this request to make Tarek Najm's page back again.

 Not done The administrator did not "quickly" make a decision - it was the result of over three weeks' discussion at WP:Articles for deletion/Tarek Najm which decided that the references did not meet the WP:Notability requirement for "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject," see also WP:Notability (summary). Because it was deleted after a deletion discussion, it will not be undeleted here, but, since Secret has retired, you may apply directly at WP:Deletion review.
Some advice, though: one of your edit summaries said "My boss asked me to edit his bio page", and you have already been warned on your talk page about WP:Conflict of interest. You must understand that Wikipedia is not a place like LinkedIn for people to post their CVs, or tell their subordinates to write about them: COI editing is strongly discouraged.
