Translations

I just created a stub for our national flower, the ceibo (actually that's a redirect to Erythrina crista-galli). I took most of it from the Spanish Wikipedia (es:Ceibo). On doing this, and after translating several National parks of Argentina articles, I realized that we need translators (or at least helpful bilingual people) with a background on botany, zoology, ecology and similar. Otherwise we're missing very good descriptive content. --Pablo D. Flores 12:35, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

Problem is, there are very few of us actually working in Argentine related articles, not to mention specialist. Besides you and me, there are a couple more with isolated contributions (User:Jfa, User:Maberk, User:Qsebas) or focused around football ( User:Elpincha, User:Sebastiankessel), or not into Argentine topics at all (User:Luis María Benítez). Perhaps it would be wiser to ask for help at some spanish-language-related place? Try perhaps Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America countries.
BTW, good work with the National Parks. Texts are not so complete, but give a good idea about the topic, and connects to other information sources for those interested in knowing more. -Mariano 14:50, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

Known Argentine vandal author of VFD:Rana lechuza, VDF:Blue tiger, VFD:Vandera, VFD:Pumpkin spoof, VFD:Gauchos Pesados, VFD:Glamorous cumbia and God knows what else, brought as a new artice: Eduardito De La Puentes. Please, do not move this page to Eduardo de la Puente if you would like to fix it in order match the journalist, but rather create a new article so this can be deleted and the hoax is not kept in the history. Nomination for adminship

I've been reading a bit about what does it mean to be an Admin. Basically its just an user with the ability of deleting articles and uploaded files, protecting and unprotecting pages and blocking and unblocking IP addresses(FAQs); that is: Fighting Vandalism. It's true that I've been prosecuting a few vandals lately, but thanks god (cross fingers, touch left one) we don't have any serious vandal on Argentine articles.
What I want mean is that I'm not sure we actually need and Argentine Admin. But if you decide we need one, I would be of course honoured to go for it. Sebas, thanks for your vote of trust. -Mariano 08:12, 23 August 2005 (UTC)

New Categories

I've created two new categories:

[[Category:Boca Juniors footballers]] and [[Category:Footballers in Argentina by club]]

I've mimicked the Spanish hierarchy for this (see [[Category:Footballers in Spain by club]]), and even when we do have [[Category:Argentine footballers]], the former one should group them by club, whereas the latter just shows that they are from Argentina.

People willing to help categorize all football players by their club is more than welcome.

You can avoid the nowiki tags and insert category names by prefixing an extra : to the name: Category:Footballers in Argentina by club. The question I have is, with players being sold and bought all the time, will everybody keep track? Or the categories will include players who were in a team but are no more? --Pablo D. They should include players who played for the club, regardless of their current status. At least, that is the way the spanish categories are organized and the way I started to categorize the players. For example, Maradona is still in Category:Argentine footballers. It may be too much to handle if we try to keep up with the market. Besides, around 25 players are in a team at one point...

Glamorous cumbia

Well I checked myself. Shoaler undeleted it, after seeing that the VfD hadn't had much support. He now knows what the problem was. Pablo, only an administrator can actually delete an article. It doesn't seam to be a translation of Glamorous cumbia, but rather an article about Romantic cumbia in Argentina, with a short article-less reference to Glamorous cumbia. Admin – Leave of Absence

I want to thank Sebastian for the nomination, and all those who voted took a minute to vote at Requests for adminship . I hope I will fulfil your expectations.

On the other hand, I'm afraid that, starting today, I will take a Leave of Absence on a last-minute all-of-the-sudden imperative "mission to take pictures in order to make them freely available at the Wikipedia" (a.k.a. Legal System

Hi, everybody, Tcalle has created Argentinian Legal System. It is a prime candidate for VfD unless we really improve it. I tidied up a little bit, but I'm going to need lots of help building it... Maybe we should contact User:Tcalle, to help. He probably has some ideas in mind.

I would prefer someone to fix both Law of Argentina and Constitution of Argentina rather than deleting them. I think they are the kind of thing the Wikipedia should have. Models for the constitution are United States Constitution or the Spanish model with different constitutions (Spanish Constitution of 1978), or at least a brief description such as that of Constitution of Slovenia. For the Law system: Law of the United States and Law of Australia. I'm afraid I have neither the time nor the knowledge to do it myself. Pablo? Mariano(t/c) 07:52, 7 September 2005 (UTC)

Election and politics articles

I propose we adopt a standard format for articles on elections. We have Argentine presidential election, 2003 and then Elections in Argentina has a number of red links named Argentine elections, YYYY. Now a gazillion articles link to the 2003 elections article, but most do so through {{Politics of Argentina}}, so changing the template will solve the redirect problem.

My idea:

  1. Let's keep articles on parties separate from articles on elections, template-wise. The now long dead Intransigent Radical Civic Union, for example, has nothing to do with the 2003 elections. Maybe there should be a template with the major parties of today and historically important parties.
  2. Let's name all articles using the same format. I propose Elections in Argentina, YYYY. It avoids the adjective (which everyone gets differently) and keeps the trend of the main article. We can make a bunch of redirects later.
  3. Let's actually write the articles on the previous elections. :) At least presidential winners and/or some comment on the political implications.
  4. Argentine presidential election, 2003 should be moved and incorporate more info; we have es:Elecciones argentinas (2003) to get data.

Regarding the names of the elections, I checked the election categories of other countries and it seams to be common to add presidential, parliament, regional or other adjectives to the name of the article. Category:Elections in Spain, Category:Elections in Belgium, Category:Elections in New Zealand. Anyhow, there seams to be no standard on this, so we can do either with or without presidential. It could be included, though, since they are somehome more important than the other ones, and then make a redirection from the name without it.
What about the comming elections? Does anyone have any info to create the article before they actually take place? Mariano(t/c) 07:27, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
As for the names, I would go for shortness. If you're looking for info directly (rather than following a link), then you'll probably start by searching without qualifications. Unless you're an Argentine voter, also, you may not remember which kind the election was. I noticed "general elections" articles; I think the adjective is rather superfluous, as long as we specify the scope of the article in the first paragraph.
A standard for content and layout we also need, but that's secondary. I'd be inclined to include summarized results and some comments, and point to the sources directly.
For the coming elections, if we agree on the comments thing above, we may explain it's a legislative election (point to the main article to explain the procedure), comment on the slaughter and mishmash of candidates in Buenos Aires Province, on the fact that Santa Fe won't employ Ley de Lemas, on the "plebiscitary" nature of this elections for Kirchner, etc. --Pablo D. I stoped worring too much about names some time ago. For the format, either the english or spanish versions are good. I like the spanish version with all the candidates for presindet, and the rest of the elections divided by province. I would not put "Presidential", since they sometimes also include Senadores and Diputados, and would mislead people. As far as how to divide them, the nationwide elections (President, referendums, etc...) should have a total and a breakdown by province (if we find one) the rest should have a main page explaining the process and a breakdown by province as well. --Sebastian Kessel Talk 15:54, 14 September 2005 (UTC)
About the coming elections, I started a page on the spanish wikipedia es:Elecciones argentinas (2005), but I basically let it die, because nobody helped me, and because I personally decided not to vote anymore, so I lost interest. Football Player Infobox

Hey, guys I'm going to Football Database [2] and getting stats on all Argentine Football players. I already did A-B (going alphabetically) and added the infobox to those players who I have stats for. Once I finish with the ones this site has stats for, I'll do some research and finish the rest. Help is appreciated. :)

Great source of Info! careful, if statistics show 0 – 0, it might be actually No Data. About the Template, sometimes it gets kinda wide (Guillermo Barros Schelotto), and there is one question: For 3 seasons in one club, should be add the total matches and goals and put it in one line or have each season separately? -Mariano(t/c) 07:18, 23 September 2005 (UTC)

Is it really redundant to have a table of goals per season?

The current scheme has only goals per team, so if the player stays 3 seasons in one team we know how many matches and goals he had in those 3 years, but not for the season specifically.

Options are:

  1. Keep both (table, and infobox)
  2. Put the data in the info-box season by season
  3. loose the data and have lees information.

Is it ok if I go with 3? It is really that relevant? I would cite a particular outstanding season if the player has one (like Palermo scoring 20 times in 19 games) but asides from that, seems like a "waste of good bytes"? :)

WikiProject Argentina?

Guys, this page is evolving from a "Notice Board" to a project. Shouldn't we move some of the content to Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America countries, or create a Wikipedia:Wikiproject Argentina?

I would go for WikiProject Argentina. I feel, however, that for this to make sense it is necessary that there are at least two kinds of users, 1) those who can contribute from time to time or just appreciate having articles and news on Argentina, and 2) those who do and want to contribute to make articles at a good rate, with research and sources and all. Group 1 will just take a look at the notice board, Group 2 will also join the WikiProject. We could do this already, but if there are not enough people in both groups, splitting the page seems unnecessary.
Of course when I speak of groups I don't mean a clear split, or membership or anything of the kind. The idea is that the board should start to function like a board – attracting visitors actively looking for news and articles on Argentina. Once this is done, the project will be a natural step forward. The sad reality being that at present we're just cuatro gatos (give or take), setting up a project sounds prematurish. I agree with Pablo, we are really four crazy cats, and sometimes the RNB seams too big for us. A Wikiproject demands much more work and attention, which I prefer to dedicate to the Wikipedia itself. I have nothing against the move, as long as it really matters. A WikiProject implies work, guidelines and policies, and advertising: looking for contributors and trying to attract the occasional editor who retouches things here and there or suggests something. adjective vs noun

from what I have seen there is a move from adjective to nouns when referring to countries. Pictures at presidencia.gov.ar

Please check this: de:Benutzer:ALE!/Bilder Presidencia Argentina. It's a user page. It has a copy of an email exchange where the webmaster of http://www.presidencia.gov.ar says that all the materials published there are for public use. And they have a lot of pictures (though uncategorized). I've uploaded a couple of them to Commons following an example I found, under the general GNU license. See for example Felisa Miceli. Should we ransack presidencia.gov.ar? I'm not very satisfied with the email; maybe we should try to write in representation of the WikiProject as a whole... --Pablo D. Yes, I think a second email would be worth sending. The only problem would be if this GNU enthusiastic is giving us a permission that he is not authorized to give. Just a couple of things...

Hi guys! I want to start thanking everyone for correcting my spelling/distraction mistakes. Then, I wanted to bring up a couple of unimportant things:

  • Templates: I've seen people changes a valid wlink for a template. For instance (no offense intended) [[Argentina national football team|Argentina]] with {{nft|Argentina}}. Templates facilitate the writing of articles, but should only be considered preferable when they are ought to change (for instance, {{In Wikipedia}}, or some infobox where some data might be added). Templates have to be translated whenever a page is loaded, so it generates extra work to the servers. In short: used them as you please, but there's no need to change perfectly valid code favouring templates. In fact, {{test}} warnings to anon users should be used as {{subst:test}}, that replaces the template tag for the resulting text.
  • Vandalism:
    • When editing, specially when modifying a number of pages rather mechanically, try to take the time to check for previous vandalism (I know its a lot of work, I don't do it always).
    • When revising your watchlist, not only check the last edit to the page, but the ones before until the time of your last loging (I think you all already do that).
    • If you detect some vandalism from an anon IP or a registered user, after cleaning it, check its recent contributions for vandalism in ages that are not checked so often.
  • Wlinks: Avoid adding underscores to the names of the articles and images ([[Tango_(music)|tango]] or [[image:Salta_04_181.jpg|right|thumb|The inside of Salta's main cathedral]]

Alejo Parella & Almanso

  • It's mostly indie, but they did 3 covers for 3 various albums as well as their own, but Alejo is currently working on Glasnost, I suggest you check the link to the video of False at the end of the page, it's a pretty good song. Plus, it's not out of vanity since I'm the one who put it there, and I'm canadian. Alcoholemia was also released on Les artistes de la communauté on the label Retroforward. Location

There's a very interesting red-dot location system in use in Wikipedia, of which I gain knowledge only today. You can see how to implement it at the {{Infobox protected area}} template, as it can be seen used in the Arches National Park article. To use it, we should first create a Argentina locator blanck map (as there is a File:US Locator Blank.svg). The question that arises is: should we have one single map of the entire country, or two or more zoomed maps. Together with the hiddenStructure CSS class, we could update the {{placebox-map}} and the {{placebox-begin}}. Mariano(t/c) 11:38, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

i dont like using CSS for hiding. Templates allow for if-else structures, I found it at Template:Language. I.e. we could use a template:Infobox Place instead of the splitted system. there was a fight about if-else and subtemplates (WP:AUM) but it turned out they are not a big problem for the servers and we can use them. This could be added to the existing template in place of the image (no need to change the template), or in a new template, 'city with locationg dot map'. Comments? PS: I noticed that the red dot's coordinates for a place are 5 pixels high and wide smaller than in the less specific circle's coordinate for the same place ( I mean, if Cordoba is in the X=10 and y=23 with the dot, it will be in x=15 and y=27 with the circle)Argentino (Talk cont.) 14:55, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

OK, so I created the {{Placebox-location}} template, but before we start using it we have to settle a couple of things:

  1. The red dot is kinda big, do we wont a smaller one? a different one (shape, colour)?
  2. Are we going to use named parameters? Currently it does, parameters base, x and y, but the other templates of the Placebox familly don't.
  3. Is the name OK?
  4. Everyone likes it?

Later maps (perhaps more detailed) can be added later, as far as they all have 251px of width, or with {{Superimpose}} outside the placebox infobox. Mariano(t/c) 10:41, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

All i can say is "i love this". I dont understand very much about templates, but i will do my best, i suppose copying and modifying works?(I did it with all the monobook.js stuff and worked so...). Vacations

Just getting here to let you know that I'm taking a Wikivacation starting Monday. I'm taking a couple of weeks off work and off home to visit sunny Mendoza. I'll be back on Friday (January 20). Dirty War

Given the date, I started to work on this complex topic and was lost in categories. Every article on the Dirty War, the Proceso and their participants has a bunch of these, which I think should point to one Category:Dirty War and sister categories/subcategories. I believe we should draw a nice category tree where we can make our Videlas, Galtieris and Astizes fit without so much wordiness. Past discussion in Talk:Dirty War and a recent comment mention that "dirty war" is a common term in other places and that "our" article should be called Dirty War (Argentina). Now I'm all for preemptive disambiguation, but I haven't seen anything about the Dirty Wars of other LA countries. Is it presumptuous to guess that most people who look for "Dirty War" are in fact looking for the Argentine one? I'm bringing this up because the objection has been made and, if we have to move all links from one title to the other (tiring!), I don't want to have to do the same with the category too.

User WikiProject Argentina template

I'm writing you regarding the {{User WikiProject Argentina}} template, that many of us contributors use in our user pages. I believe it to have slowly degradated to something that doesn't represent the common ideo of the users that participate of this project. The last version by Darklegions (talk · contribs) reads:

  • "The motto of the WPAR is Firmiter Unum Pro Patria, which translates to, "Firmly united for the Motherland". This motto reflects the desire to dramatically improve the quality and standards of Argentina-related articles on Wikipedia, and is a reference to the Argentine National Defense School."

I have no idea what does the National Defense School, or the Military of Argentina, have to do with the contributions to the Argentine related articles. It was pointed out that {{User uk wikipedian}} has a similar format, but I couldn't care less about it.

The purpose of this project is to contribute to Argentine related in general, and I see any connection with military out of place. You don't even need to be Argentine to participate, as contributor AntonioMartin (talk · contribs), so nationalist reference such as "Firmly united for the Motherland" seams to me out of place. I suggest we re.write the template to a more general profile; I wouln't use it as it is right now, because I don't feel represented by it. Mariano(t/c) 11:01, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't remember being asked about, or voting for, or even being notified that we had a motto. Right now the template reads like a veritable fascist badge. I'd say we can leave mottos out (rather than wasting time in mottos, why not spend it in making articles?), and concentrate on the simple fact that we want Argentina-related articles to improve, stop. --Pablo D. América, Buenos Aires

Could someone check this, please? I've been transferring cities and towns in Buenos Aires to Category:Cities in Buenos Aires Province and tagging them with info from the Ministry of Interior (using {{ar-mi-muni}}). Now I don't doubt that this place exists, but the MoE says that the capital and only city in the Rivadavia Partido is Rivadavia itself, population 15,452. What exactly is América? --Pablo D. Hmmm... There must be a problem somewhere. "Denominación de categoría" is just what the administrative division is called; in Buenos Aires there is just one (all partidos are in the same category), but for example in Santa Fe there are "municipalidades de primera categoría" (pop > 200,000), "municipalidades de segunda categoría" (pop > 10,000) y "comunas". If you go down the page and look for the details on the partido, it gives a list of municipalities, and there's only one (Rivadavia itself). I think maybe the list is not complete or doesn't work well with Buenos Aires. <span class="maniac">There are several other "cities" that I haven't been able to find (for example, Cariló) and places that I think should be called suburbs (e. g. City Bell). My idea is to get the official information of the MoE on every city article, and coordinates too (http://www.maplandia.com/ has geodata on many places, even surprisingly small towns).</span> --Pablo D. Hi guys! I just wanted to tell you all that I'm glad we are having so many new 'not-just-another-lame-stub' articles lately. There are still a lot of topics to cover, specially in History and Geography. I know we already have a ToDo page, but it would be good to have a list of articles roughly ordered by priority, for these two separate topics. I'm afraid I have no atlas with me at the Cul d'mond, so I kindly ask you to take the time to gather that information.

At the same time, you might have read the message about the Wikipedia version 1.0. It will be hard to select the good articles, and those necessary, but we should do that some time soon. Hi Jorge! If you think there are enough military related Argentine articles to make a new template, take a look at Template:Argentina-stub to create Template:Argentina-mil-stub following the first one, then include in it the new Category:Argentina military stubs, and the already existing Category:Military stubs. Just bear in mind that there are a lot of users who take their time to delete stub categories that don't have enough articles, so I would recommend you to have at least 30 or 40. BTW: Don't forget that in English, unlike in Spanish, adjectives such as Argentine, Patagonia, Maradonian, etc., are always capitalized. Good wiking, Mariano(t/c) 05:46, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

People by origin

Can we just agree to a guideline on "labeling people by origin"? Am I the only one to resent the "Croatian encroachment" we had on Maradona and Luca Prodan? The basis for both claims was speculative; even if proven true, they'd had no relevance because the careers of both men had nothing to do, not even indirectly, to anything Croatian. I just noticed this. I think it is only correct to categorise articles by notable facts. Someone's descent is often not a notable fact. I prefer to only include people if they are a) first generation immigrants, b) closely identified by themselves or society as that (any footballer nicknamed El Vasco for instance) or c) where the fact is important to society at large (e.g. where people from unusual backgrounds have achieved high office or status, or represent a notable community even if they themselves don't care – see unsourced comments on Jorge Capitanich). As a fan of categorising, I have probably strayed too far with the Basque category myself, but these are the criteria I'll try and stick to in future. Martín (saying/doing) 23:55, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
This massive expansion of Category:Argentine people by ethnic or national origin is now getting troublesome. There are rarely references to the origin given, and there is confusion over the naming conventions. Only one or two editors are making all the changes, and I doubt that they are so knowledgeable about such a wide range of people – their edits are not restricted to Argentina by any means – and my hunch is that they are going by surnames, which is dangerous.
Argentina is a country whose modern history is dominated by immigration. In the English category hierarchy, any such categories are deleted fairly quickly as being irrelevant, POV and hard to source. I have explained above that I think they are relevant in an Argentine context given that many people maintain links and culture and identity from their ancestors. It is a notable fact about a politician, in my view, to be of close Arab ancestry, or of Chilean, given the countries' history. But even that use is subjective and POV on my part, so I am starting to reconsider whether these cats are of use. Martín (saying/doing) 09:05, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Geography II: Partidos, Departaments and cities

I've been meaning to write about this for a while, and this seems a good time to do it... I think many of the "XYZ Partido" articles, especially the ones not yet written, should be merged with the articles about the corresponding cities. I mean, in most cases, a partido only has one city plus many minor towns, villages and other things not clearly distinguished in official sources. Since a partido is technically a municipality, shouldn't we redirect the partido articles to their head cities' articles when there's only one proper "city" in them? The same would be probably a good idea in the case of many provincial departments, especially those that are not very populous or notable — when you go look for data on the head towns, their official websites speak about the departments as a whole. This is why, in my maniac tagging with placeboxes, in many cases I've chosen to leave the department name unwikilinked. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 00:29, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure about this. Big partidos, specially those in Gran Buenos Aires, have a number of important cities or localities inside (Vicente López). Others don't have the same name as its head city (Almirante Brown, La Matanza). Probably Partidos' articles will end up having little more than a list of localities, but I still think its worth keeping them separated from their head city. I would take the Lomas de Zamora Partido and Lomas de Zamora articles as a model, that don't have the same information, including the passage of Villa Fiorito from Lanús to Lomas. Hello, I'm attempting to clean up some messes on WP and have come across one I'm hoping you may be able to help me with. Please see Argentine rock, reference # 40, which currently looks like this

As I understand things, if this item has an ISBN, it is an invalid ISBN because it is too long. My hunch, though, is that Sony Discos produces sound recordings, so this item may not have an ISBN at all. Might you be more clever than me at figuring out what is going on here? I'd like to find either a valid ISBN that goes with this book, or better identifying information so if this is a CD or DVD or something an average reader would be able to locate the source. Las calificaciones son mas POV que un discurso de Hugo Chavez. No entiendo tu reclamo, Pinchex. Si, por ejemplo, Balvanera esta calificado como Clase-B, es porque todavia no fue elejido como good article. Si crees que ese, u otro articulo, se merecen esa calificacion, proponelos como Good Articles, y luego subiles la calificacion. Si hay algun articulo que creas que se merece una calificacion distinta a la que tiene, CAMBIALA!. Los articulos cambian, y con ellos tambien su clasificacion.
De cualquier forma, no se porque le das tanto bola a esa calificacion si te parece que no tiene sentido. Caes en la incoherencia de decir que no tienen valor, y luego calentarte alegoricamente como si lo tuvieran.

Wikiproject:Argentine football

Hi

I believe that we really need to sort something out for Argentine football, the coverage is really recentist, hardly any of the great players from before the 80s have articles. Also people keep adding and removing players from the current squads without using the players in and players out subheadings and adding seemingly made up players. The Argentine Primera is miles behind even League 2 (4th Level) in sunny England in terms of the number of players with articles and the quality of team articles. There has been discussion of forming Wikiproject:Argentine football. If I can get some support here i will try and set it up. If it does happen we can keep track of when squads have been updated, players needing articles, good online source material, Argentine players playing abroad, what needs to be done etc. Let me know if you're interested, Regards, King of the North East 22:43, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I used to trim down the list to the longest of either 120 articles or a month old articles.

Article naming

Guys, I started a conversation regarding the naming of the article Re-establishment of British rule on the Falklands (1833), and would like to hear your oppinion on the posibility of renaming it to Surrender of the Falkland Islands of 1833 or something similar. Basically, I believe that the current title suggest the British restored some legitimate ruling, whereas a surrender would mean they had to be [temporarly] left behind by the Argentines against their will.

Article that does not suit Wikipedia's standards of neutrality

Hello! I am here because I am worried about an article that is not neutral in Wikipedia. I'm talking about de biography of Jorge Horacio Brito. I was following the case and there are a couple of users that is using Wikipedia to link him to relevant corruption cases, but only based on a couple of media article. There was no judicial decision to establish if Brito is guilty or not yet, so this allegations are not "serious" information yet, apart from the article is written in a very biased and misleading way that does no respect the neutrality that Wikipedia has. I saw that some users tried to neutralize the article but were accused of sockpuppeting and hence their chances were removed. I noticed that there is a strong interest of those users in having those corruption allegations stated in Wikipedia despite there are only accusations, but nothing is clear yet. I "neutralized" the article and erased all the accusations and the changes were undone in a couple of minutes. This is the actual version of the article: Jorge Horacio Brito This is my "netrualized" version, now reverted: Special:PermanentLink/682809052 This situation in my opinion damages Brito's reputation wihtout any reason. I want to ask you if you can help me to support the neutral version of the article. If many of us reject the biased version of the article we could keep Wikipedia "clean" of this kind of misleading content. I really want to thank you for your help. I won't undo the changes until I know that other users will support me because I don't want to start an edit war. Request for help

I'm working on Goat tower and I have heard there is another in Argentina at Fínca el Rocio, Villa Belgrano, Córdoba, Argentine. From http://armchairtravelogue.blogspot.com/2015/06/goat-towers-around-world.html : "This is second Goat Tower (after the Ekeby tower, Norway) to be modelled after the Fairview tower, Paarl, South Africa. Owner of Fínca el Rocio had requested Fairview for the designs of Goat Tower and they sent him the designs they had prepared for Ekeby. The tower was completed in October 2010. Initially the goats didn't use the tower and had to pushed to walk up. The goats were however lured up by keeping their food (corn) at higher level. In words of the owner; "... only the hungriest walk up in the beginning, but now they happily go up and down!" (Source Fairview's Blog)" Can anyone find a mention of this goat tower?
