On the 2011 AO page what do you think of the diagrams. I think these are highly un needed since we have draw pages and are as redundent as the day by day summaries which you've rightly AFD. Just wanted to know what you thought as I am trying to get it to GA/FA standard but will probably have to remove the two things I've already mentioned and wanted some support before I did. Hi AnonDis. I need your help. Long ago you helped me clean my global account, since then all went smoothly, and I had an awesomely clean global account (created I think Dec 2009). But as you can see in the link, the SUL account doesn't exist anymore. Before its magical disappearance, I owned all "Rehman" account on all wikis... Is this a temporary glitch? Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. Hi there. I notice that during the 2011 Australian Open you attempted to delete the day to day article and advised the removal of another silly table thing. Well guess what there back on the 2011 French Open page. I have been bold and removed both and we have a load of people going I like and nothing else. You may not remember me, as it's literally been years since we've last spoken. I've recently decided to try to become active in Wikipedia again. However, things are much different than before. If you DO have a valid memory of me, you would remember how mutilated my grammar and punctuation was. Honestly, it's been about five years. I created this account underage which I'm pretty sure is a violation with the ToS. You have no right absolutely to delete what I said and nor do you have a right to harrass me on my talk page. You can thank me later for it but I'll tell you Parseval's identity. It's more conceptual to think of L^2 the space of measurable square-integrable functions on [-pi,pi] as a complex inner product space (Hilbert space). The idea is that the space has an orthonormal basis (general orthornormal basis can be found by wavelets) such as {e^{-in}} for n an integer. And if f is a function in L^2 you can take its inner product against each of these functions and get "components" of f. The point is, as you'd expect in any Hilbert space, the components are the only relevant data when it comes to taking inner products. So you can find the inner product (an integral) of two functions just by knowing their Fourier coefficients. Pretty cool math dude? So basically I advise you to find the Fourier coefficients of the function "x" on [-pi,pi] and take the inner product of this function with itself and apply Parseval. The PROOF of Parseval is probably well beyond the scope of your education; you'll see it when you get to university. It involves proving the completeness of the trigonometric system (in the L^2 case) which can be done nicely with convolution but I'll save the details to your lecturers at first year undergrad. uni.
I notice you said that you didn't know what "Fourier series" is and it shows since if you did know you'd see that the above is perfectly correct math. Feel free to consult anyone. But don't remove perfectly legitimate math just because you don't understand it. I don't want to insult you but I find you're insulting me by deleting text because you don't understand it.
For example Slawomir himself said I made a valid point. Did you read that? So I'm not a troll.

Hello Cuddlyable. Could I ask you to justify your re-insertion of a portion of 49.2.4.186's post on the mathematics reference desk? You've labelled it "non-inflammatory" in your edit summary, but reading carefully you'll see it still constitutes a jab at Fly By Night. The mathematical content of the post is of little worth anyway, in view of the OP's question ("...does not use Fourier series"). - After deleting 49.2.4.186's first paragraph that we certainly agree was inflammatory, I understood that 49.2.4.186 feels a need to explain Parseval's identity and decided that part is acceptable in the discussion. I see the jab remaining towards Flyby Night but in mitigation 49.2.4.186 had offered a reference that looks valid to me and received a rebuff for the effort, plus scepticism about whose the PDF is. Posts in small font are often frivolous anyway. I was not aware of a previous pattern of behaviour by this IP but I see that they are communicating in the section above. Hey, Anonymous Dissident! I saw that you were a bureaucrat/administrator here, so I was just wondering if you might be able to answer a question I had. The thing is, I'm an admin on a different wiki, and another admin on the same wiki posted a question to the rest of the admins asking if there was a URL that can be used to show any user their current number of edits on the wiki. On our wiki, there's a page called Special:Editcount that conveys that information (I don't think Wikipedia has a page like this though), so another admin advised him to use this URL: http://_________.com/Special:Editcount/Username. That URL would achieve the desired result, but one would have to constantly put the username of the specific user at the end of the URL when posting it on that user's talk page, so my goal was to come up with a way to avoid that; almost to create something you could post on any user's talk page without changing any part of it and still get the desired result. I came up with this: {{fullurl:Special:Editcount/{{BASEPAGENAME}}}}, this way, one could just post the coding on the talk page of the desired user and the returned URL would automatically direct the user to their respective edit count. This worked successfully for every other user whose talk page I tested the coding on (without saving the page, of course); the only problem is that the user he wanted to do this for has an "*" both at the beginning and the end of their username (the second asterisk isn't a problem, just the first), meaning that instead of being returned as:
http://_________.com/Special:Editcount/*User*
it gets returned as:
{{fullurl:Special:Editcount/
- User*}}
and doesn't take anyone anywhere, because it's just the raw coding. So I was just wondering if you knew of any way to circumvent this problem (aside from just telling him to post "http://_________.com/Special:Editcount/*User*" on the user's talk page, which isn't the end of the world, but is, of course, what I was trying to get around in the first place), maybe by putting some other form of coding that I'm not aware of somewhere in the existing coding or something. Any light you may be able to shed on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi AD. At Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Steven Zhang (now withdrawn) you asked me this:
You seem to be questioning the logic of these "current archangelic" standards but also enforcing them. Two years is a very long time; are you suggesting the standard will be different by then, or that such a period is necessary to establish good judgement?
I had no chance to reply, because by the time I came back the discussion was closed. But it's a fair question, and here's my answer.
I think that the admin selection process is seriously flawed, and that a great number of fine applicants are rejected. There are also perhaps inbuilt biases that favour certain personality types over others, where the qualities in question have little to do with judgement, fair-mindedness, or other qualities that are imperative in an admin. And there is far too little readiness to accept that people learn and develop over their years with the Project, very often because of their years with the Project. But I do not think the bar should be lowered in specific instances and not generally. They should be applied evenly. The failure to apply standards evenly in various forums is a besetting problem. Still, I advise the candidate to apply in two years, yes. More time will put the misdemeanours further back in history, and he will be in an even better position to demonstrate a stable new attitude.

I've been editing Wikipedia for a while. I made an account, forgot about it (possible reasons: hard drive failure or simple forgetfulness), and made a new one. At some point, I lost the ability (no idea why this happened) to reset my username's password. So I made a new one. This account is one of the first two I created. What do I do?
As you can see below, the first two are almost identical, which seems odd to me . . .

Dear Anonymous Dissident,
My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, were it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.
So a few things about the interviews:
- Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
- Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
- All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
- All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.

Hi! I have an account on Italian wiki named Aethelfirth and I'd like to create a unified login, but there is already an account named Aethelfirth on the English wiki, even though since 2006 this user didn't make a single edit! I read here that it is possible to usurp this account and unify it with my Italian-wiki one, so this is what I'm asking to you: can you do it? Hi. I wonder if you can help me. I've posted a DYK nomination for the new page named by the heading above (under February 21)--but have been told by a bot that it's incomplete ("see step 3 of nomination process"). I noticed that I failed to include the title of the article in the edit bar at the bottom of the page (and so did so), but can that alone be the problem? I don't know how to fix it.
