Ultimate X-Men (story arcs): Peer Review[edit]

Greetings! In January, you participated in the discussion for the 2nd deletion nomination of Ultimate X-Men (story arcs). After two months of rewriting, reorganizing, and referencing, the article is now undergoing a WikiProject Comics peer review. Your editorial opinion would be most welcome to help us improve the article to A-class status. Thanks for your time! - fmmarianicolon | Talk 06:37, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:KenQuill.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:KenQuill.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:20, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Harry Potter roll-call[edit]

Hi there. Your username is listed on the WikiProject Harry Potter participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. Your name has therefore been moved to a "potentially inactive" list. If you still consider yourself an active WikiProject Harry Potter editor, please move your name from the Potentially inactive list to the Active Contributors list. You may also wish to add {{User WP Harry Potter}} to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. Conversely, if you do not wish to be considered a member of the WikiProject, leave your name where it is and it will be moved to the Inactive Contributors section. If you wish to make a clean break with the Project you may move your name to the Known to have left section. Many thanks.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Chellemi Chuovvick.jpg)[edit]

Nuvola apps important blue.svg Thanks for uploading Image:Chellemi Chuovvick.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:52, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to WikiProject LGBT studies![edit]

Drawing-Gay flag.png

Hi, Dylankidwell, welcome to WikiProject LGBT Studies!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles of interest to the LGBT community. Some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve LGBT-related articles, so if someone asks for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as article quality assessment, peer review and a project-wide article collaboration, all of which you are welcome to take part in. We also have a unique program to improve our lower quality articles, Jumpaclass, so please consider signing up there.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign LGBT topics.
  • If you're planning to stay, have a square in our quilt! You can put anything you want in it.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again - Welcome!

== peer review ==[edit]

I was wondering if you could take some time out of your schedule to head over to the Heroes (TV series) talkpage and give us an honest peer review. The page has gone through some major changes in the last few months, and it would be fantastic if a prominent editor/contributor like yourself, could head over and give us at the Heroes Wikiproject some sound opinion and ideas on improvements for the page. We have all worked very hard at improving the page, and we need great outside, reliable and trustworthy users to come over and help us improve. I you are interested in joining the peer review discussion with other prominent users/contributors, much like yourself, please follow the link. Thank you very much for your help and your continued effort to improve Wikipedia and its quality! Millennium Items‎ pictures[edit]

Hello. I was reviewing the Millennium Items article for deletion and I noticed that all of the pictures were uploaded as released to the public domain. However, these seem to be the same pictures uploaded to another wiki in June of 2006 (Here). I'm going to assume good faith and ask here first where these images came from. If these images aren't free, then the project faces non-trivial legal exposure from keeping them. If they are free, then there is no problem and I apologize for the intrusion. Also, since you contributed those images, you may want to participate in the AfD for that page. Thanks! Protonk (talk) 00:01, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not inclined to agree. If you got them from another site then we have no idea where they came from. If we don't know where they came from, we can't claim that they are in the public domain. Since they are items from a manga it probably behooves us to assume that either the publisher didn't release their versions or that the company (game guide or reviewer or whatever) didn't release them. I don't know japanese copyright law, but if they were made in the US they are presumed to be copyrighted. If we can find the original source we can re-tag them to reflect that and claim a fair-use exemption. If we can't do that then it is better to remove them from the project. Protonk (talk) 02:42, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, that is a little drastic. If we can find new versions of the images and reupload them with fair use tags that might be better. However if you don't think that is worth the time we can just post them to WP:IFD. Protonk (talk) 17:18, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
On second thought I added the images to the WP:PUI list. You may find the nomination here. I don't exactly know how the process works, but it is a start. Protonk (talk) 20:34, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:Psylocke-X-Men 3.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Psylocke-X-Men 3.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:42, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
