:So why not just unblock them to let them fall under the shorter hard block? Is Forbes a reliable, third-party publication?

If a private company (like Soave Enterprises) is on one of Forbes' lists, then Forbes compiles the information and verifies the it to meet the criteria of the list (not the said company.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Freshmenz (talkcontribs) 22:26, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete the creation of "Trinity Shamrocks football". It is notable because it is the powerhouse of Kentucky football and many people in the community have expressed the creation of such a page. thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Trocksuk4415 (talkcontribs) 21:48, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NawlinWiki,

I still don't understand. Since, you have deleted my articles and now plan to block me (as I see you gave me a last warning,) can you please give me any constructive feedback? I have learned from your earlier deletions... I hope! However, I have made many attempts to get help like asking to be adopted, receiving help from colleagues, ticket with Wikipedia (# 2008072410002489) and studying others commercial businesses that have articles that you have not taken down yet. For instance:

| http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domino%27s_Pizza
| http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compeat

...and the list goes on and on. I know that Wikipedia does not allow advertising products or services. Why then do you only take down my contributions (when I have taken the time to learn from my past mistakes) and have created my articles in a similar fashion like the other businesses that have pages within Wikipedia? For example, what was the blatant advertising with Soave Enterprises and when compared to Illitch Holdings, Inc or Dominos or Compeat or any other, why aren't these blatant advertising? Another important question is... why is it that some postings are deleted while these others are kept? What is different about what is kept within the site and what is not allowed? Where do you draw the line without being hypocritical about the policies?

I believe that I have met the first requirement that an article must meet is Notability <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:N>. The articles had Reliable Sources <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:RS> which can be used to Verify <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:V> the notability of the article subject about Soave Enterprises. They are listed in Forbes! As for the other article on CigarFox, if you do not think the company qualifies, do you recommend discussing it on the article's talk page with other interested editors?

I truly believe that my knowledge and subjects are worth value to be in Wikipedia. I'd would really appreciate to understand your specific reasons why you decided to delete these. This will help me learn how make it more in line with Wikipedia and your guidelines.

Take good care. Thanks and have a great day! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Freshmenz (talkcontribs) 20:25, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i dont understand why the indoor snow slopes page was deleted? please explain Emmadarvill28 (talk) 15:00, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This talk page is archived every month (if I remember). The older pages are indexed at User talk:NawlinWiki/Archives.

Wondering why your article was speedily deleted? Check this list first.

Do you want to move a page that I've move-protected? Discuss the move first on the article's talk page. If there's a consensus for the move, let me know and I'll unlock the page.

Please add all comments at the bottom of the page (or I may not be able to find them).

Sorry about that page :). I was just feeling bored, and I made a new account just in case it got deleted. Trust me, I actually contribute to Wikipedia a lot, but under a different user. Deletion of matter (venue)

I don't understand why you just deleted that page on the new venue 'matter' in London? It is a £6 million major music venue in one of the Worlds capital cities? It is also from the guys behind arguably the most important Club Fabric (club) in the World it is also all over the press in London at the moment. Bizarre that you don't feel this is important. Given Fabric has been voted number 1 club in the World 4 times in past 6 years - i along with a lot of other music fans think there is some interest there. Thanks for the advice Hamface25 (talk)

Thank you for your help

Thank you very much for rescuing my article on Cozen O'Connor from WP:CSD. I've been a contributor here for more than three years and I have written extensively about law-related topics, and it is a bit disappointing to see hyper-deletionists like this guy, who doesn't bother actually reading and understanding policy, come along and trash otherwise good work. In fact, I'm thinking about writing an essay about the subject of Wikipedia spam vs. legitimate business articles.

Anyway, though, I appreciate your help. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you in the future. --Eastlaw (talk) 18:12, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request to restore a deleted article "Bootb"

Hi NawlinWiki,

You've deleted an article that I created without giving any time to edit or re-write it... :(

Could you please un-delete it? I really beleive that the subject is worth to be in Wikipedia! I'd be grateful to hear your reasons why you decided to delete it, so I'll know how make it more in line with Wiki's guidlines. And I'm ready to provide my reasons why this information is relevant to be published in Wikipedia.

Looking forward to hear from you soon! Thanks!

I would like to complain about your deletion of the "IPEXL Search" article. I had removed the speedy deletion tag and was in the process of improving it. Your deletion was unhelpful and pointless. ‎ 203.194.16.90 (talk) 12:24, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sassco deletion

You keep deleting Sassco for some reason. It's a large regional footballing organisation established since 1999 and it's also been on the web since 1999. We are also easily found using Google for our area. 27,000 regular visitors mean that it is notable. Please restablish the page. Protecting recent Grawp targets

Hi, NawlinWiki. I was wondering if it's really necessary to semi-protect the articles that were moved by Grawp et all this morning. Grawp doesn't seem to move the same pages twice, or at least not frequently enough to get any real benefit from page protection (or at least not that I've noticed, although I don't follow it especially closely). If it is a good idea to semi them to prevent further vandalism, wouldn't it be better to just semi the move function, as opposed to editing the article in general? It seems to me that doing a full semi-protection causes a lot more collateral damage than simply removing the move function for new users. Anyways, I wanted to run my thoughts by to see what you think. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 16:44, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I was unaware of his later activities. Complete semi-protects of course make sense now. Thanks for explaining the situation. Regards, Parsecboy (talk) 17:14, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

== Adam Maurice Foley ==

I am writing an article about myself yes. How can you say that the founder of a community organisation is unnoteworthy? There have been article written in the Valdosta Daily Times newspaper, on and on the web about these activities. If my article only cites these publication would it be noteworthy?

Re your deletion of this article: foreign language articles don't qualify for {{db-nocontext}} unless you can tell that they are context-free in the other language. In this case, the article you deleted was a copy of a kowiki article, so it qualified for {{db-notenglish}}. If you run across any other foreign language articles, feel free to bring them to WP:PNT if you aren't sure of the contents. Thanks! nneonneo talk 20:05, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the author made the article, which was then tagged for {{db-nocontext}}; the author blanked the article, resulting in a Huggle user reverting it as vandalism (even though that would have qualified the article for {{db-blanked}}); the article was then deleted (by you) with a summary of A1. So I guess what I am saying is that, while it could be deleted under either {{db-blanked}} or {{db-notenglish}}, it should not have been tagged and deleted under db-nocontext. Thanks, nneonneo talk 20:14, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NawlinWiki,

Please re-instate the Glemonade article. It is an actual drink that people are making and that's what they call it.

You can remove the Glen Ames portion of the article where it describes how the drink came about, but it seems to be valid because the history of the drink should be made known. \

Dumping something in your lap

Hi NawlinWiki,

I see you blocked User:Stub12718696 as a "vandalism only account and possible Grawp sock", and User:Stubby Nubby soon after. I noticed another couple of users last night who, I think, are the same person: User:Plappy doon-doon (I'm quite sure) and User:Microƶoƶo (not so sure), but didn't have time to do a proper SSP or RFCU or anything last night, and am not going to have time for Wikipedia today. If you have the time and interest, since you probably know more about this Stub127... account than most, I thought I'd let you know.

No problem if you're busy; if, tomorrow, it looks like you haven't dealt with it, I'll look into it more myself, but I still have a couple of questions:

  1. Does Microzozo look like the same person
  2. Why "a possible Grawp sock"
  3. should all of their contributions to Cyrillic letter articles be rolled back? I know nothing about it, so I can't tell if it's sneaky vandalism, legit, or a mixture.

Thanks. --barneca (talk) 11:31, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

VisTablet

You speedy-deleted the VisTablet page. Since it's both a company and a product that's becoming more and more common, and since nothing in the article deleted had any kind of praise for the product or the company, I don't see how it was blatant advertising. Sure, it was pretty empty, since I don't know much about the product, but I thought having a stub would be better than nothing at all. --Sydius (talk) 16:27, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the deletions of the partisan attacks. You should check your most recent edit however, it is not the Rocky Mountain News but the Rocky Mountain Chronicle.

Additionally, Udall did not just acknowledge the facts in 2008, but in fact has talked about it publicly for decades and it was talked about extensively in his 1998 campaign. My suggestion would be to delete this section entirely and move it into the talk section until it is rewritten in a better-researched fashion.

speedy deletion of The Present (2009 film)

I don't understand why my article on The Present (2009 film) has been deleted. The A7 criteria specifically excludes products of people (such as books, albums, etc) are excluded and I would assume the etc. would include films. Anyways, the article should be considered notable because the lead actor has worked with famous musicians such as Britney Spears and Mariah Carey and one of the co-stars, George Nozuka is a current R&B singer in Canada with #1 singles to his credit. I would like to have my article reposted or at least an explanation of why it was "speedily deleted". Thank you.

In response to your comments (I wasn't sure where to reply so I chose here), I am not affiliated with the film. I simply thought that those who were fans of the short films and music videos of Jesse Grce might be interested in knowing that he was in the process of creating a feature film. Additionally, I felt as though the large fan following that George Nozuka has might also be interested in knowing the upcoming film he will be co-starring in. True, I did cite the director's own website as well as a website about the film created by the director and the lead actor. But, according to the rules, "Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or likely to be challenged, or the material may be removed." I highly doubt that any of the material published in my article will be challenged. Anyways, if it is, I am still following the guidelines as laid out in the section of the rules labeled as "self-published and questionable sources about themselves".

"the material used is relevant to the notability of the subject being discussed; it is not contentious; it is not unduly self-serving; it does not involve claims about third parties; it does not involve claims about events not directly related to the subject; there is no reasonable doubt as to who authored it; the article is not based primarily on such sources. "

I believe that my article does not break any of these seven rules.

1. The material is obviously relevant 2. It is definitely not contentious 3. How could it be self-serving if I (someone now affiliated with any aspect of the film) am creating the entry...The success of the film does not affect me in any way. 4. No person unrelated to the film is used in the wikipedia article for any reason. Everything from those sources is related to the production of this film. 5. No event unrelated to the film is used in these sources either. 6. The sources were undoubtedly authored by Jesse Grce and Falk Hentschel. 7. I will concede that as of the time the article was deleted, it was based primarily on these sources, but I was not near completion of the article when I stopped editing for the evening. At the completion of the article, there will be a plethora of sources that were not self-published.

In response to the "crystal ball" guidelines, I have not broken these rules. They state that you cannot insert your opinions and analysis, which I have not done, and that you cannot advertise which I have clearly not done. Otherwise I would have attempted to put information for investors, etc. on the website. I simply want fans of this director, these actors, the composer, etc. to be aware that a full length feature film that they will be contributing to is in the works.

In response to the SPAM guidelines, I do not believe that in any way, I promoted this film unfairly. I simply stated a synopsis of the plot and wrote about the cast and crew. I was not advertising for the movie, simply making the public aware of the film's existence.

Thank your for your consideration in this matter. I appreciate the work you put into deleting unworthy articles, but I do feel that my article was deleted unfairly. Please consider allowing me to recreate it. Thank you.

I understand, and I guess it might fail at AFD but I don't think that this is a speedy. Just out of interest, what is the consensus at AFD with regard to U-18 appearances? If you don't want to recreate it, do you object if I do? Thanks TigerShark (talk) 14:40, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mind if I restore it? Thanks TigerShark (talk) 21:35, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Because the reasoning you give doesn't meet any of the speedy criteria, because if, once a consensus is reached, all future articles are speedy deleted there is no scope to change consensus, and because you haven't answered the question about representing England and Under 18. Cheers TigerShark (talk) 21:41, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I restored it. Will watch the AFD with interest! :) Thanks again TigerShark (talk) 21:45, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just clarifying why the page was removed. It's not a vanity or hate page; the person in question is real (http://community.mediacorp.com.sg/TV/CS/blogs/calefare/default.aspx) and has been mentioned in another article (Calefare). Not a Hollywood star, but it's a TV show that just premiered on the main and most widely-watched English channel in my country (singapore). Dontsh000t (talk) 15:09, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppets of an account you blocked

On 5 August you blocked a user with the name Offered me the goods, I'm not paying for abusing multiple accounts. These accounts, created within the 10 minutes after that one was created ([7][8][9][10]) are almost certainly more sockpuppets of the same user: the names are all lines from the same song (one was changed slightly, probably to avoid the blacklist); as is an account created two minutes earlier: [11]. --Snigbrook (talk) 23:41, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the middle of those accounts there was another, [12], I didn't notice at first but this is a line from another song by Goldie Lookin Chain, and two accounts created later that day are the first two lines from that song: [13][14], and a few accounts with "sockpuppet" and "meatpuppet" usernames. --Snigbrook (talk) 00:01, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article deletion

Please reconsider your deletion of the article that I posted. Deleting within seconds of my posting is rather curious.

I understand a different article on the same subject was deleted two years ago, but the subject does not deserve blacklisting.

If the movement appears in the Encyclopedia of American Religions (2008) edition), which it does, it warrants inclusion here.

--Odinlives (talk) 21:11, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First, the Melton work, The Encyclopedia of American Religions, is an academic work by Dr. Gordon Melton. He would not include trivial or non-existent groups.

The new edition is not yet out, but I will send the page reference when my copy arrives.

Notice the Odin Brotherhood is listed by the Cult Awareness Network:

Cult Awarness Network

Also, this is a useful source:

Odinism and Asatru Library pdf files --Odinlives (talk) 01:05, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Contest the deletion? I really do not have the time to counter the arguments of the misinformed.

You seem to have no idea who Dr. Gordon Melton is--plus you seem to think that the Cult Awareness Network lists non-existent organizations.

So, why should I bother?

Out of curiosity, what are your credentials? Highest degree completed? Area of expertise?

The vandals never learn.

Hi, NW. That little so-and-so you blocked for vandalism to the Issac Hayes article is still being a schmuck via the talk page, including a half-assed death threat. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 04:04, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Found this charming little account on the new accounts page...and it had created a sleeper, User:DoctorCox. Thought you ought to know. Please know that this site would be a far worse place without you. As for me, back to watching from the sidelines. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 04:17, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hoaxes are specifically excluded from CSD

Just a friendly heads-up: Please review your close of this one, after taking a glance at the enumerated non-criteria in CSD. I never saw the article and you may have just chosen the wrong term of art for the close. Townlake (talk) 19:29, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thought I'd ask you as I often see you attending to things I tag for CSD. I came across this article whilst new page patrolling. I tried to rename it to Oriental Ruthless Boys, but got You cannot move a page to this location, because the new title has been protected from creation as a error. I figure therefore that this new version is an attempt to get round this. I can't find the article in the protection log, but I didn't know if you had special adminy powers that would help. I also found OrientalRuthlessBoys which seems to be another get around. I would tag them both for a speedy as a recreation of topic already deleted, but I can't find the deletion, but the fact that the page is protected implies to me at least that it has been. Hope you can help! --Ged UK (talk) 19:54, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prod or Db?

Out of idle curiosity only - don't bother with an answer if you can think of anything better to do.

The Justin Dylan Mahabir asserted he was a leading expert on the philosophy of existence. This is is of course nonsense, as the total absence of sources to support it demonstrates. However, it appeared to be an assertion of notability so I tagged as a PROD instead of db-bio. It was then speedy-deleted.

I support the deletion - my question is if an article asserts genuine notability but the assertion itself appears plainly untrue, does it still qualify as an assertion of notability for speedy deletion purposes? Euryalus (talk) 04:58, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick response. Euryalus (talk) 05:04, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Whynatte Latte

I would like you to reconsider your deletion of my article "Whynatte Latte". I wrote the article similarly to the other energy drink pages on wikipedia including Redbull and Monster. I would be more than happy to change it and work with you to make it acceptable. I do not think it is written as an advertisement, and I did not try to write an advertisement for the company. Thank you --Crapplejax (talk) 16:06, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just wondered if you noticed my note on the talk page of this article you deleted. I thought we were supposed to give authors 7 days to sort the copyright issues. Or maybe I'm mistaken. MSGJ (talk) 16:08, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:S Marshall was just about to look, if my article, being a stub of course, was worth any more work when you deleted it. Please look at his talk page --Bufi (talk) 17:46, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Was there a hangon template on this article? And did the author explain he was having trouble with English and was looking for help? And did he actually come to me for help? And did you delete the article before I could provide it?
I'm afraid, NawlinWiki, that you've just bitten a newbie so you get the trout. :P Should have userfied rather than deleting if you couldn't possibly hang on another minute.
I do agree that on the basis of my brief look around with a search engine, the topic failed WP:SNOW, though.--S Marshall Talk/Cont 18:09, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion/reversion of articles

That's just to clean out the redirects, right? HalfShadow 01:53, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I note you blocked this user; you might want to block User:Moantonight as well per this diff referring to this diff. Ironholds 14:44, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not that it matters...

...But I wanted to just drop you a note of support. While I'm sure it's grating on you for this onslaught of attacks (well, stupidity at least), it is at least more creative than usual vandalism, but I still would like to be able to can that editor completely. Hang in there; we DO appreciate your work!
(Side Note: Last year I was in New Orleans for the first time ever... VERY NICE what I saw of it, which wasn't much granted. Still, nice. Loved the airport too... all that Louis Armstrong overhead!!!) Vengeance is mine, saith the Prime  02:57, 14 Aug 2008 (UTC)

J.R. Exclusive

Hi there. I noticed you deleted J.R. Exclusive. I was the one who nominated it for speedy deletion, but it was declined by User:SarekOfVulcan. He subsequently made some improvements to the article. Just thought I'd let you know in case it was a mistake, rather than a purposeful disagreement with his decision. Cheers.... justinfr (talk) 14:38, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, thanks for taking care of all that Chiacig crap. justinfr (talk) 14:39, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Justin, I was just coming over to say that. :-) None of the improvements I made involved finding sourcing to establish notability, though, so I'm not going to dispute it.--SarekOfVulcan (talk) 14:59, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jessicaharris2008 created this, and I've prodded it. Thought I'd notify you, since you previously dealt with a similar article created by this user. Cliff smith talk 00:39, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Complaint message (originally left on userpage, transferred to talkpage)

Why have you deleted my page, when I put a hold on it? I was just in the process of adding the necessary links, when you deleted it... What are you playing at? I've only been editing for less than 5 MINUTES! Plus I can see from your own history, that you've had issues yourself when you were first starting out here on Wiki. Have we forgotten that? Please return the content that I had already completed by email, as I don't appreciate the loss of work, or my time, when you haven't even run the site by your own guidelines!

You deleted an archive page, StG44/Archive 1. I created this page by following the Archive Guide for archiving talk and discussion pages. Hey Nawlin Wiki, sorry about the whole Dark Knight edit confusion.
