W.R.T. The wiki article on John Paul II - The quotation in the evolution section attributed to JPII and starting with the phrase "If taken literally..." is false. Check the citation link and try finding that quote there. The quote was actually from a Chicago Tribune reporter's article here: http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1996-10-25/news/9610250130_1_humani-generis-evolution-theory and was in no way the words of JPII. 75.23.71.42 (talk) 05:03, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stephens City FAC

Hello YM, I have replied to your questions on the FAC page. Please let me know if you have anything you would like me to add, remove, tinker with, or work on, as I will be glad to. I will be up for awhile (I am a night owl) so if you have anything, let me know and I will get it done tonight. :) Take Care...NeutralhomerTalk • 03:26, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vietnam provinces

Hi can you translate, User:Nvvchar/Vietnam Province 4, User:Nvvchar/Vietnam Province 6 and User:Nvvchar/Vietnam Province 10. Nvvchar is concerned about the lack of sourcing. Do you think any of the translated info can be referenced? Dr. Blofeld White cat 09:50, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

FYI YellowMonkey has asked me to help out with User:Nvvchar/Vietnam Province 6, which I don't mind doing, since it's in line with some of the work I've been doing on the Yunnan–Vietnam Railway. I also don't mind seeking out new references if they're needed, as that's what I've been doing with other articles in my sandbox. --dragfyre_ʞןɐʇc 17:54, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Days of the year articles

Hi YellowMonkey. I noticed you have added several Vietnamese national elections to these pages. Usually national elections don't meet the notability requirements of these pages. After all, there a lot of countries out there, and many of them have had a lot of elections throughout history. Adding them all would quickly overwhelm these pages. WP:DOY states Dates significant world leaders or movements rose to or fell from power are notable. Of course not everyone is going to agree on what is significant and what is not, but I at least wanted to explain why I reverted your edits to September 3. I'd be happy to hash this out on the article's talk page if you like, but figured I'd drop you a note here first. Cheers. Winston365 (talk) 07:33, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reviews and suchlike...

Thanks for the stuff on Hammond, especially the batting order one. I see BB has raised a few points again, hopefully won't de-rail it too much. I will still review the remaining Harvey GANs, but I wanted to wait a while, just in case anyone else wanted a go. I'll do them by the end of the week if no-one else steps in. --Sarastro1 (talk) 09:21, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

QCQ request

I'll try to get to it either tomorrow or Thursday, but I unfortunately can't do it tonight. There's an article I want to review that's slipped into the older nominations, and every time I leave an article like that for another day it seems to get archived before I get a chance to look at it. I hope you understand, and I do look forward to reading the article, as I've liked the individual bios. Giants2008 (27 and counting) 02:05, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1920-21 Burnley F.C. season

Seeing as the autobiography thing has sort of killed the Willie Irvine FAC, I've gon back to my previous efforts on the 1920–21 Burnley F.C. season. However, it was you that put paid to that one so I thought I'd check here before wasting my time returning to FAC again. Would you be able to have a check through the article to see if it meets your (IMO outrageous) standards? I've tried to address the comments you made before, so would be interested to see what you think. By the way, books about Burnley in the 1920s still don't exist, and they never will. Cheers, BigDom 11:14, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I'm actually not harsh at all; the sports reviewers are not firm and many stubby North Americans sports stuff gets past all the time. Luckily for those guys, the main rigorous guys on FA don't go for sport, usually, except Brianboulton getting stuck in. Still I see heaps of cricket articles by the likes of Sarastro1 that are very detailed eg Wally Hammond, Douglas Jardine and Wilfred Rhodes, with plenty of quality books. Things could be worse, if you anger a guy like Fowler&fowler (talk · contribs). He followed dineshkannambadi (talk · contribs) to each of his FACs and posted 50k oppose comments everywhere, saying that every sentence was wrong. DK then retired. Yes I'll have a look YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 01:31, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. You can hardly compare England international test cricketers to footballers who spent a years at a couple of small town football clubs; there's obviously going to be more books and sources for the cricketers. Nobody cared enough to document the early lives of Burnley players, so maybe I should give up all hope of ever getting one to FA standard. Same with the Burnley seasons - the only thing that's available is the results of matches, there's no in-depth analysis etc. BigDom 13:05, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
True, that's why I don't bother to try and FAC non-international players if I can only find stats about them, but that's just my preference YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 02:58, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anniversaries

This was Rhodes' 1,000th match, but doesn't say anywhere, only able to find it by searching for fc matches on player oracle, so I'm not too sure how to reference it. The only thing jumping out for Wally is when he had a load of runs, wickets and catches in one week in 1928, but it was only f-c, so not too notable. --Sarastro1 (talk) 07:29, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ah, well just cite it to the oracle list and the reader and count down 1000 or up 100 odd to verify it, and add the date, and a note/cite that Rhodes is the only 1000-capped player and it'll be reserved on the main page. I've put up Hutton's 364 for Aug 23, and Jardine winning the Ashes. Pity about Wally :( unless you can think of a good pun YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 07:34, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, YellowMonkey, I'm busy verifying the enteries in the Mil hist article contest for July. I've moved a few of yours from the 31 July scoring period to the August scoring period as they hadn't received an assessment in July. Rather than simply scoring 0 pts in July and affecting your contest average, I thought it best just to enter them in the next contest as they will be eligible for points there if they are assessed in August. Please let me know if this an issue. Cheers. AustralianRupert (talk) 10:43, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I understand where you coming from, but since google took over the sporting news archives website, I have nearly nothing in sourcing, and if I come up with an excuse on why he played or didn't play other than the obvious (see my example in the FAC) it's original research. Hi YM, I wonder whether you are able to do the judging of FAs, tomorrow or Sunday. Please let me know soon, since I'm on vacation from tomorrow and need to have this decided. Tony (talk) 01:37, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've made my submission today. I hope this is ok. I don't think any more will be promoted and the other ones almost ready for promotion don't take my fancy as the ones I've already chosen YellowMonkey (new photo poll) 08:00, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Tony (talk) 08:05, 13 August 2010 (UTC) PS Who's the dude who shows when you click to edit this page? Tony (talk) 08:07, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Kabir Toor and in his infobox too. The banner says " Mr Kabir Toor (pictured left) says "Please vote in the photo poll on this page. Many thanks"" unless it isn't rendering for you YellowMonkey (bananabucket!) 08:18, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I asked for a clarification on an FAC-related issue here. That talk page is not frequented much by users, so I'm sending out some messages in the hope that one of you can shed some light on this. Prime Blue (talk) 16:49, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder

Hello yellowmonkey and thanks for your review of FC Barcelona. I've tried to address your concern, so please see if it's better now. Thanks, Sandman888 (talk) Latest FAC 08:47, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

block of User:Digerateur on hold

They've been (rightfully) blocked for two months for spamming, now requesting unblock and promising that they now understand our policy on external links. Was thinking of giving out some WP:ROPE, checking with you as blocking admin. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:46, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not a problem YellowMonkey (new photo poll) 03:12, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks for the reply. Beeblebrox (talk) 14:59, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hutton

Got everything in about Len now. Very, very long! Even for me! There's still bits I want to put in and there's at least 2 articles I want to fork off to shorten it. And it needs tidying up generally, but I'm having a couple of weeks off that one as it seems to have lasted forever. Hopefully, I'll come back to it a bit fresher and knock it up to GA standard. I might do something a bit shorter now. However, if you still want to upload that Hutton in 48 article, I think the main article might just be long enough to justify it now :) --Sarastro1 (talk) 07:05, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And for what it's worth, Lennie was terrified of Macca! But so was everyone else... --Sarastro1 (talk) 07:08, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for 1965 South Vietnamese coup

Courcelles 18:54, 16 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]

This article on the supposed "royal" seems like a vanity page. A quick search on Google didn't show anything reliable mentioning her, and all the "references" in the page don't mention her directly. DHN (talk) 00:56, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

CSD isn't going to work on that, unless it's flagrantly stupid etc so AFD it'll have to be. I looked at those photos and unless they're faked, it seems she did pose with the Australian Idol finalist, Melissa George and the modelling show winners. Still being a millionaire's daughter and meeting famous people at a party doesn't mean anything, even if she is Bao Dai's chau co, as he had quite a few kids and the monarchy doesn't have any nominal standing anymore anyway apart the odd crown prince doing some political activism YellowMonkey (new photo poll) 01:10, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tonelli

Has three supports, does this mean you can add another now? Your swimming articles were very enjoyable, well done. Aaroncrick TALK 01:38, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
