According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Appanoose Township has a total area of 30.34 square miles (78.58 km2), of which 25.52 square miles (66.10 km2) (or 84.12%) is land and 4.82 square miles (12.48 km2) (or 15.88%) is water.[2]

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.89% of the population.
