Gelugor or Glugor now (named after Asam Gelugor, also known as Gu-Lu-Goq (牛汝莪)^[1] in Hokkien and Northern Malay) is a suburb located at the southern part of Georgetown.

Gelugor is a suburban area midway between Georgetown and Sungai Dua. It is located near some of the state's prominent landmarks, such as the Penang Bridge ^[2]^{[better source needed]} and Universiti Sains Malaysia ^[3]^{[citation needed]}.
