Petra Christian University is a private Christian university in Surabaya, Indonesia, established in 1961. It has about 9,900 students and 6 faculties. It is affiliated to the Service-Learning Asia Network.[1][2]

Service-Learning Asia Network

Petra Christian University is an anchor member of the Service-Learning Asia Network (SLAN) was created by International Christian University (ICU) in 2004 with assistance from the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia as an outgrowth of the first service-learning conference in Asia hosted by ICU in 2002. The objective of this network is to further exchanges, research, curriculum development and evaluation among Asian education institutions in service-learning. The organisation also sought to build a network of service-learning providers and aims to gain recognition in Asia.[1][1][3][4][5][6]

In connection to the Service-Learning Asia Network, Petra Christian University hosted the 6th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference on Service-Learning (APRCSL) from 28 May 2017 to 2 June 2017 themed theme of "Educating the Heart: Nurturing a Fruitful Life through Service-Learning." [7]
