Notice of change
Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that if you are inactive for a continuous three year period, you will be unable to request return of the administrative user right. This includes inactive time prior to your desysopping if you were desysopped for inactivity and inactive time prior to the change in policy. Inactivity is defined as the absence of edits or logged actions. Until such time as you have been inactive for three years, you may request return of the tools at the bureaucrats' noticeboard. After you have been inactive for three years, you may seek return of the tools only through WP:RFA. Thank you. MBisanz talk 00:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- MBisanz, Lara is already unable to simply request resysopping via a post at WP:BN. ArbCom has mandated that she undergoes a new RfA before acquiring the bit again. Kurtis (talk) 21:35, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Notice of no change: Lara wouldn't be an admin on this project again for a paycheck. Add a new category of former admins; one that reads "No chance in Hell of regaining the tools." Better and brighter places for me now, gentlemen. But, as is so often the case here, thanks for the displaced energy that surely could have been better focused in more productive areas, like project space. You know, those pesky things referred to as articles that really make up what makes Wikipedia worth visiting. The front that conveniently hides the disturbing and dysfunctional factory of monkeys on typewriters throwing shit at each other 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and an extra on the leap. I've got a daughter reaching her teens. If I want to deal with extreme and unnecessary drama that can make grown men cry and cripple the emotionally weak, all I need do is enter her room. Wikipedia's RFA (and, really, the entire "community"), therefore, serves no purpose to me. Regards, Lara 22:32, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
- Damn. You were one of the good ones, too — the vanguard of the BLP brigade. Nevertheless, I completely understand your reasoning, and I can't say I blame you for not wanting to go back into Wikipedia's backroom theatres. I always enjoy this place more when I'm editing articles than when I'm watching a witch-hunt take place over at ANI or elsewhere. Kurtis (talk) 01:44, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you for saying so, but my particular brand of administration was not valued. Nor was my particular set of personal convictions re: personal relationships vs. Wikipedia in matters of loyalty. Enjoy your editing of articles. Avoid the drama zones as if they contain the plague. They sort of do, really. Lara 02:43, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- I remember the situation w.r.t. The undertow/Law, having been around back then. I formerly edited as "Master&Expert", but changed my name this past August. Your legacy here, as far as I'm concerned, is a very positive one. You might not realize it, but the work you've put into this site has had a profound impact on the integrity of our articles and the real life security of countless individuals. You've inspired a great many people, more than you may ever know. Remember that. Kurtis (talk) 05:04, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- That, my friend, is good to know. So happy to hear it wasn't all for naught, the years I gave to this project. Still, I have no time anymore to devote to the collection and dispersal of the sum of all human knowledge, or the protection of living people within that. Regards, Lara 13:47, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Files missing description details
are missing a description and/or other details on their image description pages. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the images, and they will be more informative to readers.
If the information is not provided, the images may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 01:10, 13 April 2013 (UTC)- Oh noes! Moar deleting of perfectly legitimate photos because things would be too productive if not for ridiculous and unnecessary layers of bureaucracy. Ah, Wikipedia, no consistency in quality, but always consistency in the embarrassing dysfunction. Lara 00:25, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Bikini Bandits
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Bikini Bandits requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Inanygivenhole (talk) 20:40, 5 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you, Inanygivenhole, for welcoming me to Wikipedia nearly seven years after I arrived. The suggestion for using the Article Wizard is also appreciated. I should have used that during the time I worked on those dozens of GAs and FAs. If I may also make recommendations, consider updating the boilerplate to be less absurd. Lara 02:13, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not the one to talk to about that, "Lara." Inanygivenhole (talk) 02:21, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

- Wait a tic, did you actually get templated for an article that was, until yesterday, a redirect that you put in place during the flipping Bush administration? I've restored the redirect, and will leave a note for "Inanygivenhole". UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 03:29, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

- (edit conflict) Restored to your 2008 redirect. The article it was replaced with does not look like it could ever muster through a AfD. (I wish people would read the diffs instead of firing away on Twinkle or Huggle but YMMV.) --Guerillero | My Talk 03:33, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for September 15
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Maynard James Keenan, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Ambient, Queen and Accept (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

An RfC about the use of the {{fairusereview}} tag on mainspace pages is in progress here. From 2005 until recently, this template was added to file pages when the non-free status of the file was being discussed. In May this year it was edited so that it could be added to articles. The RfC question is: "Should the template be reverted to the pre-May 2013 version, and retained only for use on file pages?"

BLP issue: are you still looking at these?
Hi there, would you be interested in taking a look at a BLP issue? I know that's a topic of focus for you, and there's an ongoing dispute on Talk:Tim_Lambesis, the subject of which is in the midst of a very well-publicized and controversial criminal trial. You can see the details for yourself. Vintovka Dragunova (talk) 05:45, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
- Let me know if discussion continues. I don't check in often, but I get email notifications for talk page messages. Lara 03:05, 1 March 2014 (UTC)
To my talk page stalkers...
... if any remain after all these years. If you've got time and/or interest (or know someone who does), Tim Lambesis is a BLP in desperate need of work, as the bio lacks any substantial info about his music career, for which he is notable. Rather it's almost entirely about his criminal acts, trial, and conviction. Any improvement would be a benefit to the project. The article, as it currently stands, is an embarrassment. And I'm really shocked there have been no improvements since the discussion from the above section concluded. If I had more time, I'd work on it, but I'm wrapping up my senior year as an undergrad, so there's no time. Lara 21:37, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Where you been!
I used to be Possum (changed my name again), I took a 6 year wikibreak, came back to see what's going on and everyone I knew has either retired or disappeared! I miss you blocking me for being a fail, I miss you breaking Wikipedia hehehe. Are you still around? — BranStark (talk) 14:37, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, memories... And good ones! Thanks for reminding me that not every minute on Wikipedia was a distressing waste of time. Alas, I am highly unlikely to return anytime soon. My life is pretty awesome right now. College degree from my dream university, dream job (if only it paid well!) at said university, amazing friends, wonderful boyfriend, my kids are thriving, I live in an awesome area, my apartment is beautiful, I'm about to start graduate school on a Ph.D. track... life is good. Though I do remain IRL friends with many of my OG Bathrobe Cabal wikifriends. How have you been? Lara 01:50, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- We had some good times. I'm not sure how long I'll stay active again, everything's changed! I only popped back to see what everyone was up to, then I found myself downloading Huggle again... I can't believe someone nominated the Bathrobe Cabal for deletion, what is wrong with the world?!? It's that exact pettiness and over-seriousness (is that a word) that made me leave, not to mention the constant drama. But you always lit the house up. How many admins can claim the physically broke the project? :P — BranStark (talk) 13:43, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- We left for the same reasons. We did have fun, though. And I am probably in a very small group of admins who managed to shut part of the project down, haha. It's crazy to think about what a lot of us had going on in our lives when we were all active on here all those years ago, and then to look at where we all are now in life. We've come a long way! And everything has changed, on and off the project! Well, considering the BRC MFD, I suppose not everything has changed. But still. Lara 19:58, 15 November 2014 (UTC)

So glad to have you back
You have definitely been missed on this site. Even if you're only here for a little while, it's always great to see someone from years back take interest in Wikipedia once more.
P.S. — I know how disheartening it is to see that a few of the same conflicts from back in the day are still ongoing with no end in sight, but with regards to your comment on Coffee's talk page, I would actually disagree. As someone who's been keeping an eye on this place for a long time, I believe Wikipedia has actually matured substantially over the years. For example, did you know that user conduct RfCs have become a thing of the past? That's just one example. Although not perfect, I personally find that our community as a whole has become a lot friendlier in general. Kurtis (talk) 18:58, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- Well that's great to hear! I should note that I'm not totally back. Life is super busy right now with everything I'm balancing. I'll pop in now and again, though. Indubitably(Lara) 19:03, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

History of American football
The featured article History of American football, an article you have edited significantly in the past, is currently at around 160 kb in length. The maximum allowable article size per WP:SIZE is 100 kb. While some bits of information could probably be pared down, most of the article is still surprisingly well written and referenced (despite growing in size by 2/3rds since being promoted to FA status several years ago). The article will need to be brought back to a smaller size, a discussion is underway at Talk:History of American football to decide the best way to handle that. We want to preserve all of the good information there, but the rules require us to split the article up somehow. If you are interested in helping decide how to do that, please come by the article talk page where the discussion is currently underway. Thanks! --Jayron32 12:21, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Biography of Living Persons
Hello Indubitably,
I'm a newly active editor who has remained a little-involved "IP user" a long time, without enough time to care about much of the Wikipedia processes, until recently when I finally created an account. I am still studying how Wikipedia works. Considering that a lot of the article space in topics of interest is already well developed, I'm so far mostly looking at the various cleanup and maintenance avenues, perhaps also award committee projects.
Considering your experience with BLP issues, you may perhaps be a right person to answer some of my questions. Would you say that since say, 2008-2009, things have improved, regressed, or remained the same? There were some discretionary sanctions established circa 2014 about it, and a number of BLP pages have semi-protection (although I'm not sure how common or not protection was back then). I have noticed some of the BLP scandals that occasionally surfaced via the reliability of Wikipedia article, as well as from one of your user page links, I think. I'm not sure if that's still a common issue.
I of course still see a lot of self-promotion/self-bio new articles on a regular basis since I started being more active on Wikipedia, and am thus also occasionally participating on some related AfD nominations. Some bot(s) also seem involved to help with the AfD process, but I've not been around these areas long enough to know if it used to be better handled or not. One thing I noticed is that it's not uncommon for some to be relisted for not obtaining enough input in reasonable time. There also seems to be people listing those to the deletion sorting lists, but some seem to not get listed fast enough, and I see no automatic process to notify the article creator (or I missed it, if so). I've not yet discussed any of this at the tech village pump, although it's one of the possibilities I noted. I also started studying the API that bots use for automatic editings (I'm a programmer but have not used this API, or automatically parsed/edited wikisource, yet).
We also have the Tea House that is rather well publicized to new user talk pages, causing a flow of new paid COI or self-promotional non-notable editors to regularly ask for help there about their deletion-nomination articles, or how to create their article, quickly getting told by experienced hosts the related policies. This seems to stop a number of them during their first attempt; most seem to never have read the policies and guidelines, and some even appear to be students or young parishioners assigned to create an article by someone who also never read them, or prefer to still consider Wikipedia to be an indiscriminate directory.
Thanks in advance for your time (if you wish to answer), PaleoNeonate (talk) 02:09, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- I have no idea what the current state of BLPs are. I retired in 2009 and only occasionally pop my head in. Never for that. I put a team of editors and admins together and we made a great effort to reform BLP policy. Despite all the effort, there was little improvement. Hopefully it's better now. If not, good luck in changing anything. Indubitably (Lara) 13:57, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- I understand. I actually just noticed the "if you've come to post something wiki-related" message, and apologise for not having noticed it before posting. Thank you, PaleoNeonate (talk) 19:41, 30 March 2017 (UTC)

Formatting Help
Hello! My name is Christian and I am a student at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. For one of my classes, I have been tasked with creating a Wikipedia article. One of the first pieces of advice I received was to ensure my formatting matched with the standard formats of the various WikiProjects, or else they would be quickly pulled down. For your WikiProject, what formatting requirements must be met? My subject is a living person, but someone who has been moved into Witness Protection. I'm not sure to what extent to follow the guidelines of the regular Biography section, versus the Biography of a Living Person guidelines, and I would appreciate your help. Thank you!

- BLP isn't my WikiProject. I started it many years ago, but I don't really edit Wikipedia anymore. There are no special formatting requirements for BLPs. There should be extra requirements to protect living subjects. I don't know what the status of that currently is, however. That the protections were such garbage is one of the reasons I left WP. A heads-up
Policy allows us to use signatures that obfuscate our wiki-IDs. Even so, it can be confusing. You confused me. As you can see here, it took me seven minutes to figure out that that Lara and Jennavicia and Indubitably were just a single individual.
I am just letting you know. Geo Swan (talk) 02:21, 27 March 2019 (UTC)
- You responded to a talk page message from 2012. Names change over time. And editors stop being active which is true in this case so no scolding necessary. Liz Read! Talk! 00:15, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
- You dropped by the talk page of someone who semi-retired a decade ago to complain about a signature from seven years ago. Not bothering to notice that what few signatures appear on this page have a signature that matches my wiki-ID. Thanks for stopping by, Geo. Always nice to have a solid reminder of why I don't like Wikipedia. Indubitably (Talk) 18:46, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

Looking for help with a BLP
Hello! I found you on WP:WPBIO and was wondering if you might be able to help me... or point me in the direction of someone that could. I am working on Iymen Chehade's bio. It was started by a sockfarm and has been banned, but I am trying to clean it up and get the warnings all removed. Here is the last note left by the admin that originally tagged the article: The article was written by an abusive UPE sockfarm (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Marek.kapicak) and was touched up by a disclosed paid editor (see above). It needs review from volunteers to determine compliance with editorial policies and inclusion guidelines.
Might you be available to review this article to determine compliance?
Thank you for any help!
