Mainly, the amount of statistics and scores should be cut down and more substance added. Score-based articles may be okay for lesser cricketers but for Gavaskar I guess there should be enough documentation around (one autob and two autobiographical works plus more than three biographies on him ). Re. the missing things, take for instance the occasions when he lost the captaincy :

  • Despite this, he was stripped of the captaincy when India toured England in 1979 for a four Test tour.

The general view of this is that SMG and Kirmani (who was replaced by Bharat Reddy ) were sacked from the captaincy and the team respectively because they were talking with Packer. I think SMG has denied it, not very sure. (Also seem to remember (not sure again) that the official reason was that Venkatraghavan was selected as the captain because he had experience in cricket in England and in one day cricket, but no one gives any credence to it).

  • Having secured the series 2-0, Gavaskar was stripped of the captaincy for the drawn Sixth Test.

What happened here was that, there was a WI tour planned in March 1980. Since there had been too much cricket that season, SMG wanted it to be postponed by two weeks. BCCI refused. So SMG refused to tour and since Viswanath was expected to be the captain, he stood down for the last two matches of the season to give him practice. In the end, WICB was not interested in a Gavaskar-less team and the tour was scrapped.

  • the series ended 1-2, and with a poor display of 140 runs at 17.5, Gavaskar was again axed as captain.

SMG captained India to a win in the WCC in Australia and then retired on his own (he had announced his intention to retire before the WCC began).

Disappointed

In the article State terrorism in Sri Lanka, you edit patterns which is contrary to the talk page tag which says that it is a controversial subject so please achieve consensus before making major changes is very disappointing. I can understand a tom, dick or harry indulge in such edit patterns but an admin should set the example for others to follow wikipedia rules and expectations. For example your personal opinion that Tamilnet is a blog is totally not acceptable to other wikipedians as well as reputable sources such as BBC, CNN and a number of research papers that is totally in disagreement with your personal opinion.. For example in an AFD this is what another wikipedian said about such comments.

Just think about the above comment. Infact I am ready to follow wiki process of taking this difference of opinion step by step all the way to arbitration to stop this vicious cycle of edits and counter edits with snide remarks. I am strongly of the belief that Tamilnet, a random tripod website etc, do not count as RS. Google videos etc are not RS. I didn't remove anything from proper third party reputable sources. And Green Left Weekly is not an international activist group, it is a fringe Australian leftist newspaper. And it says allegations....then it shouldn't be categorised as fact. And things can't be presented as fact when they are claimed by a partisan organisation. I am confident that my edits are in line with WP:RS. I also have to apologize because I am using you as a guinea pig to resolve this vexing issue. I was waiting for some one to remove it (as no one has dared to do it before) so that I can initiate the wiki process to resolve this conflict. So you like it or not I am going drag you all the way till we resolve it. I am OK with ANY decision, what I am not OK is with a vicious edit wars of reverting and counter reverting. Well my old hard drive crashed in March....but I also have the stuff on another computer as well....But Fingleton and Woodfull are already GAs and have a solid basis. I think some of the others would do as well in due time. But Image:Blnguyen disb topic.jpg shows a cricket addiction problem and that was the data before I came back! Elim Bible Institute's AfD

You closed this AfD with a delete result, but it is quite obvious to me that there is no consensus. Not counting the obvious single-purpose account, it was 3:3 keep to delete, and, at least in my opinion, the keep camp gave fair rationale. How is it that articles like this are kept, but this article was not? Two print sources were given, and the school is not a diploma mill, as you asserted in the closing comment (it's been around since 1924...hardly a diploma mill by modern standards). It would seem that most theological institutions are not accredited.

Hi Blnguyen, I noticed you seem pretty on top of the Ian Thorpe article and I notice you reverted my edits which is not a problem! But what he's doing now should be in there somewhere. If Undercover angels gets a mention then Action Earth and Fish out of Water deserve to be in there as well. As it is, it is an out-of-date article if you're not going to include the short-form series and the documentary! Here are some links for you to consider:

Hi Blnguyen and happy birthday. I really dislike protecting when edit warring occurs but would people discuss while articles are free to be edited? I doubt that. I invite all parties to join discussions even at the AN/I (due to the nature of the conflict) in order to get more feedback. As for the Pali Canon's top 10 "foremost disciples" (agga-savaka), I am not sure if such a specific number exists in the canon -- though this is likely just my vast ignorance showing itself yet again. The best text I know for such is AN 1.14, an English-language version of which can be found here on Mettanet.org. I believe this lists about 43 bhikkhus (Ananda's mentioned five times) for various reasons. Certainly, intuitively, Sariputta, Mahamoggallana and Ananda are the top three. The other seven you list -- I could not see any argument with them. (Perhaps User:Peter_jackson or User:Sacca could give more definitive information?)

It is indeed quite unfortunate that we may have negative FA growth this month if those two articles are taken down. At the moment I am not preparing the newsletter but Gizza said on Lost's page that he was willing to do so. To be honest, I am wondering whether I should resign from the WP:INDIA project given the recent events. I should probably do an activity level investigation to see how many people have stopped writing in the past two months due to some infighting. In my defence, none of the links i have posted have been inapropriate!! My link on 'Sun Wukong' pointed to my NON COMMERCIAL, NON PROFIT MAKING AND HOPEFULLY INFORMATIVE site which has a page/pages/references to Sun Wukong, likewise for Zhu Bajie, likewise for Sha Wujing, and so on.. Besides which, my links ARE NOT misleading - i clearly state the name of my site and what can be found on the other end of the link, giving the person reading the page a choice of whether to click on it or not. I can't make them follow the link, but if they do it's because they wanted to, and if they wanted to why shouldn't it be there? Why would you want to limit their options Mr Admin' dude? What happened to free speech/movement/information?? May i suggest, if you don't want links on the 'Tripitaka' (or any other page) pointing to 'Tripitaka not what YOU deem apropriate' pages, you be more specific with the page titles.

POV review

Hello User Blnguyen,

I am contacting you as I had requested a pov review of the Indo greek article (map in particular) but the administration has not responded. User phg deleted that status while I was away, but I reinstated it. So far four other users have complained about the accuracy of this article (windy city dude, vastu, pavanapuram, and mahitgar). Just to bring you upto speed

1. user vastu negotiated a settlement with user phg. user phg violated it after vastu left. 2. user sponsianus provided two maps (1 that even he admitted was inaccurate, and they other in contrast to the author's other maps and stated views). 3. users phg and sponsianus refused to negotiate in spite of repeated entreaties[[2]] 4. current indo greek article is 75% or more based on colonial scholar W.W. Tarn. 5. both indian and european scholars (modern) have remarked on the high degree of uncertainty surrounding the indo greeks 6. accurate oxford map was rejected by users phg and sponsianus on specious grounds

Can you tell me which map is which? and link to this discussion. I am a bit perplexed by the large volume. And also the article is an FA, which means that it is supposed to be good. Did you ask the other people who reviewed this article and those who follow Indian history if there is anything to be done? Plagiarism

Blnguyen, I have a problem concerning plagiarism. I wrote the Rajendrasinhji Jadeja page referring to a number of online sources, including the Bharat Rakshak website, which at that time had a very small entry regarding this person. That website has since been "updated" based upon the Wikipedia page, (read especially the 3rd paragraph of this, but also the rest of it), and I am flattered, except that the page claims copyright on its contents!! Someone could easily claim that I committed copyvio and start deleting content or even nominate for deletion, which would be very unfair. What do you think I could do about this? In the past, I have myself nominated pages like Piru Singh and Jadu Nath Singh for being copy-paste from this very website (genuine copyvio cases, repeatedly recreated by the Rajput troll) and now I seem set to face the same accusation! Oh I am not very good with these copyright things. As you see in User:Blnguyen/Times of India, they plagiarised my stuff but this is obvious, since by checking the timestamps on the article, they were all written before Sept 2006 when the ToI made them in preparation for the DLF series. However in this case, it says at the top of BR that it was last updated on April 25. I guess it shows that you are in the right, but once they update it again, the Jadeja page will no longer be "new" and you won't know when it was created. Greetings. After being contacted by Ghostexorcist and reading through the history, I'm sending the same message to both Blnguyen and Ghostexorcist about the Thích Quảng Đức article. In my experience (at least) you are both quite reasonable to work with. So, if I were to guess, I'm fairly sure the disagreement is a misunderstanding based on WP:TRIVIA rather than any POV issue and can be worked out to your mutual satisfaction with some diplomatic discussion. Reverting the article Tibet

Hi! You reverted two of my edits to the article Tibet. May I ask why? I gave an explanation in the edit summary box, and also on the talk page, that the infobox shouldn't have a flag and seal for an article which clearly states that it is concerned only with the historical and cultural region of Tibet and not the political entitiy of Tibet of which there is a separate article Tibet Autonomous Region and also the Tibet exile government also has its own article. another thing

I am not sure how the external link I added to the Buddhism section is inappropriate. It was a link to the blog of Sulak Sivaraksa who is one of the leading scholars in the Engaged Buddhist movement. He is not making money from that blog. What is the point of even making links possible within Wikipedia when one of the world's top Buddhist thinkers cannot even link to a blog about Buddhism in the Buddhism section of Wikipedia?

If Wikipedia authors can use Sulak SIvaraksa as a reference in writing their Wikipedia content, then I wouldn't say that it is 'inappropriate' for Sulak Sivaraksa to put a link in Wikipedia to an external page containing that content. Please remember that Wikipedia is using other people's content, not vice versa.

Hi. I just moved Burger King Products to Burger King products as I believe this to be the correct title as per WP:NAME (Burger King is a proper name, products is not). However, when checking for double redirects, I noticed that you have protected the redirect BK Crown Jewels due to an AfD result. Request for Sanctions Against a User

Please take a look at the history of the Talk:Jeronimo Bassano page. Gustav seems to have a big chip on his shoulder, and is even erasing others' comments on the talk page. He even called another person an "ass" in his comment section (deleting the talk entry) for disagreeing with his assessment of his "expert." As you can see I never called this person an ass (they are the same person on each ip). I have merely stated to him that the view that the family are not Jewish is supported by experts on the subject and he doesn't seem to like that as perhaps he had in his mind for some time that they were. Deletion or transfer

Maybe it's something even out of your reach, but can you either delete or transfer logs of mine of non-sports related edits ( see [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], and many more edits from April 2-3. Sorry, but as far as I know, there is no feature currently in the Mediawiki software that allows a transfer of individual edits from one account to another. There use to be a page called Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit where Wikipedia's developers would take requests to alter the MySql database directly, but is now not maintained anymore due to their busy schedules.
