Welcome!

Thank you for uploading images/media to Wikipedia! There is, however, another Wikimedia Foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading your media there instead. That way, all of the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view images you have previously uploaded by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'image' namespace from the drop down box). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!--OsamaK 07:28, 27 June 2008 (UT

I'm the user that keeps deleating the play house 22 section of the East Brunswick, NJ article. It was a relevant and necessary edit because I live in East Brunswick and the it's been anounced that the project for rebuilding playhouse 22 has been stopped and the playhouse will no longer be an attraction to our town. So please do not block me for making important edits. If you have any questions or comments please email me @ paulkondratuk@hotmail.com. Thankyou. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.46.70.48 (talkcontribs)

Woodland Park

Hey Alansohn, if you get a chance, could you swing by Woodland Park, New Jersey and give a hand with changing it over from West Paterson to Woodland Park? I'm curious as to when you think we should retain the West Paterson name (for historical references) and when it should be fully changed over to the new name. Thanks, either way (talk) 20:12, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking around, and haven't found any sources that say (1) that the name change has already been implemented, or (2) that it hasn't been implemented, but that it will be at a certain time in the future. Do you know either way? Nyttend (talk) 22:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

West Paterson/Woodland Park

Thanks for the note. As you couldn't find anything saying that the name change has officially happened already, I've moved the article back to West Paterson and restored that name in the body of the article. Watch out for the edits of Beholdkingjames, who has several times introduced copyvios, and changed even past references to Woodland Park (for example, saying that the 2000 census demonstrated certain things about Woodland Park, when it should say West Paterson), in case you don't already know that :-) Nyttend (talk) 23:40, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article is on my watch list and I will keep an eye out for all changes until the name change is official. Alansohn (talk) 00:06, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Irish American

Yeah, I do have a question. You said "Any article that is in Category:Irish-American politicians is already part of Category:Irish-Americans which is a parent category." But, for Instance, If I search for John P. Daley (who is an Irish American) on the Category:Irish-Americans page I won't find him because he is only listed as an Irish-America politican and not an Irish-American. I tried looking for him on the Category:Irish-Americans page, but he's just not there. Georgiamed (talk) 02:01, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank your for the DYK medal. The Tom Collins topic turned out to be a great find. The actual history is in old books, now easily searched through Google, the origins of the drink were declared lost in the 1920s, and modern writers on the topic merely copied each other's rumors. I started with a simple old book search at Google[1] and found enough info from the 1800s to generate the article. When I was done, I noticed that Tom Collins is an IBA Official Cocktail, which likely means that people going to the annual World Cocktail Competition will read the Wikipedia article to prepare for the competition and, on returning back to their bars, retell the tale of Tom Collins and source it to Wikipedia. -- Suntag 15:59, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alansohn, I hope all is well. I've been working a bit on assessing WPNJ articles, and I'd like your opinion on importance.
