Sambit Patra (Odia: ସମ୍ବିତ ପାତ୍ର, born December 13, 1974) is an Indian politician and the national spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party.[1][2] In 2006 he founded Swaraj, an NGO which aimed to support the backward community such as dalits in cleanliness and health care facilities; the NGO mainly comprises doctors, lawyers and some police officers.[3]
Early life
He is a surgeon by profession and holds a Master of Surgery (MS) in General Surgery from SCB Medical College Cuttack, Utkal University in 2002.He qualified UPSC Combined Medical Services in 2003 Joined Hindurav Hospital as a Medical Officer. He did his MBBS at VSS Medical College Burla Sambalpur University in 1997.[4]
Career
He represents the state of Odisha in the central committee of BJP, chaired by National President Amit shah. He has served as the spokesperson of BJP from 2010 to the current date.[5]
