The recent criticism is completely unjustified, I have always found your edits to follow WP:MOSDAB scrupulously. Editor of the Week

Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week, for excellent work in a largely un-rewarded subject area. Thank you for the great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:Northern Antarctica submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

As a 6-year veteran editor with over a 150,000 edits, Boleyn has quietly been creating tons and tons of disambiguation pages. This is an important area of work, but it doesn't generally get much attention, so Boleyn is probably well overdue for a bit of recognition. After all, users who faithfully work to improve the encyclopedia — yet don't get very much of the limelight — are the people that this award was designed for.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

Your advice please...

Hello!

You are the disambiguation guru. It used to be piped links were discouraged on disambiguations pages. That made sense to me. Is that still what is recommended? HMS Toronto has several piped links. Should I unpipe them?

Thanks! Geo Swan (talk) 20:13, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Geo Swan, I hope you're well. Yes, WP:PIPING is still discouraged, so that readers can see the real link and have less chance of ending up at a disambiguation page again by mistake, and can more easily go directly to the right page. On the page you mentioned, some of the links need a blue link on their line (WP:DDD). Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 20:20, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chandrasekhar

Hello Boleyn, I'm curious to know which templates you'd apply on Chandrasekhar. It's currently tagged as hndis, but I'm not sure that's quite right. I believe that one should only be used for people names with matching first and surnames. On this particular one however, the name is being used both as a first and as a surname. Rgds, --Midas02 (talk) 21:05, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Midas02. I've admended it to a surname and given name page, it doesn't seem to be for those sharing the same personal name. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 21:08, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Rock en el Universo

So I found this article of Rock en el Universo which I turned into a redirect as even the Spanish wiki page was deleted-though I'm starting to wonder if this page should be deleted instead! Wgolf (talk) 21:04, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I think a WP:BLANKANDREDIRECT was the best call here, and redirects take up less space on Wikipedia than a deleted page plus can be helpful. There certainly are a lot of songs in CAT:NN! Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 10:43, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I know that you're also actively working on the backlog in Notability so I thought you might have some advice on how to deal with this-- I recently noticed that a bunch of articles for Robin Hood season 2 episodes were tagged for notability in November 2008-- see Sisterhood (Robin Hood) or The Booby and the Beast for example. After doing some searching, it's pretty clear that these articles don't meet WP:GNG, so as per WP:EPISODE, it would be most appropriate to have the episodes consolidated under one "List of Episodes", with the existing episode articles redirected appropriately. My question is really: should the List of Episodes first be broken into "List of Season (1, 2, 3)" episodes to accommodate the content added from merging? I would really appreciate any input on what to do about this! Thanks so much! Fisheriesmgmt (talk) 18:23, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I think it would probably be most clear if they were broken down into series/seasons first, and then listed chronologically. I bet there's an amazing number of episode articles like these. Thanks for your had work, Boleyn (talk) 20:09, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Saletova Osveta

Okay so I found this old page of Saletova Osveta which probably could just be redirected though I'm not sure to what (and dang those lyrics are disturbing!) I am thinking of putting a prod up, but am not sure. Wgolf (talk) 00:20, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I looked it over - disturbing indeed. I redirected it to the album as I couldn't see that it meets WP:NSONG or WP:GNG. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 10:39, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinion please...

You are my go-to person for advice on disambiguation. Pages have no pipes, correct? Did I fix this correctly?

Thanks! Geo Swan (talk) 14:10, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Geo Swan, nice to hear from you. WP:DABPIPE gives the full guidelines, but in most cases, piping makes it harder for people to be clear where they are going to, and to know the page title for the future. Boleyn (talk) 20:10, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Geo Swan, just re-read this and realised I'd left out the key point - yes, the way you altered it was correct Boleyn (talk) 07:36, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect vs. disambig

With respect WP:2DABS covers this perfectly "If there are only two topics to which a given title might refer, but per the criteria at Is there a primary topic? there is no primary topic, then the base name should lead the reader to the disambiguation page for the term"; there is no primary topic. Both men are equally famous, for different reasons. One, one of the most decorated Marines in history, the other the winner of a Pulitzer Prize. There's no way to decide which one should be primary. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:03, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to explain your reasons, Hammersoft. Would you say that they are both eually known as 'Lewis', as only one of them seems to be primarily known as Lewis? Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 17:22, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think both of them are colloquially known by Lewis. 'Chesty' of course is known for Sr., but referred to as Lewis in some places. The reason I came across this was because of a news article regarding the delivery of a new ship that was named for Sr., not Jr., but the name makes no reference to "Chesty". It took some time to untangle for whom the ship was named, and Wikipedia made that search more difficult rather than less so, which is why I created the disambig page. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:38, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

Was there any particular reason for labelling Draffan as not notable, in the light of WP:GEOLAND? Just wondered, as it's obviously not just picking the wrong tag, as the edit summary refers. PamD 11:59, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Pam. If it is a small village, it should pass notability with no issues. I added the notability tag because I couldn't confirm that it was a village and couldn't find reliable sources (or unreliable) to verify its existence. I spent about 10 minutes on it, and then tagged it as possibly not notable. I've had a quick look again, and haven't found anything yet to verify its notability. If I had to make a bet, I would guess that it is notable, but that needs to be verified. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 12:07, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Since you are always there to correct my disambiguating mistakes, I've come to think of you as an expert in this area. Could you take a look at Oak Grove (and the talk page) and see what would be the correct course of action would be? I added back a few red links that are mentioned elsewhere and another editor is threatening to remove them again. Thanks, Tavix| Talk  15:36, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've edited the dab, commented on its talk page and added it to my watchlist. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 15:53, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I need some help with Rose Bond. If you have the time, can you take a look at it? I'm being outvoted by folks who say my references are "flaky" or otherwise not notable. I did find some good news articles today from Lexis Nexis and she's written about in a few books on the subject of film and animation. Anyway, I'd love to have someone else look at it. Thanks! Deletion discussion for Ulf Strohmayer

Hello Boleyn, as you might have noticed, I had mentioned a book a the deletion discussion for Ulf Strohmayer which contains info about him, and which I initially believed to be a possible external source. However, it seems more and more probable that this book is actually one of several full-blown WP copies "written" by the same author. So thanks for starting the whole discussion which lead me there. The article Shin Dong-hyuk (actor) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. -- Patchy1 10:08, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Master Key System

Hi, I recently noticed that you redirected this page to the author's own page, and so have tried to find proof of the book's notability. I would be grateful if you could have a look at the following references and let me know if they are valid. I am aiming to show that it is notable according to criteria 3: The book has been considered by reliable sources to have made a significant contribution to a notable or significant motion picture.

The notable motion picture is The Secret (2006 film). These are the references.[1][2] Jane Taaaa (talk) 14:18, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Jane. I'm not sure if either of these are reliable, probably the second one is - the first one seems promotional. I think it's certainly enough for you to revert my edit and start working on it. Thanks for taking the time to try to improve this. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 16:04, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

When this one was created I as thinking about AfD but at the time there were a whole series that needed my attention (I thought) and let it slip by.
