Didn't find a better template, so that will be it for now. I will still reply to queries, but maybe not as swiftly as before. If I do not reply within a week, I suggest you try to find another solution.

Question from Henry, P. V. (00:43, 2 May 2023)

I thought my Sandbox was set up, but I was wrong. I noticed I have a Mentor and thought I'd say hello and thank you. I don't have a question now but give me time! Promise I won't overload you or aim to be burdensome. FWIW, I have Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia, so errors occur with Microsoft Editor, Grammarly Pro, and OS Advance Corrections/Defaults. NOT mentioned out of a desire to generate pity (one of three despised traits) but a head's-up that all added AI-Grammar Oversites and the strict reviews/re-reads imprinted on my brain via my former Editor-in-Chief included, I might make an unintentional typo occasionally. I look forward to playing a more initiative-taking role as a longtime Beta and, in general, Wiki-Contributor/Editor, at least as much as the Season/Cycle and Schedule allow. I miss it (Journalism and Writing/Editing/Sharing Info! Sorry you were assigned to me, lol! I hope all is wonderful on our end!

Be well, PVH --User:Henry, P. V. (talk). 00:43, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish POV?

Selahattin Demirtaş and Pervin Vuldan literally praised a separatist leader, how does it NOT make their party a separatist one? How this pure and obvious fact is biased? Turkish POV you say but even some people in Turkey disagree with the fact that HDP is a separatist party. Non lex rex (talk) 20:51, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Because they do not politicize for secession? Öcalan since at least 1993 has abandoned the idea of Kurdish independence from Turkey but wanted to have for the Kurds the same political and cultural rights as the Turks had and this within Turkey. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 21:35, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well please cite it so I can have a look Non lex rex (talk) 21:55, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I do not really understand what you mean. To cite a revert? Here is a source for when Öcalan (then still in liberty) has explained that the PKK stands for cultural and political freedoms in Turkey and explicitly denies they intend to create a separate state.
"I accept the current Turkish borders. Nobody wants Turkey to be divided. This is very important! I want to negotiate a just, democratic solution to this twenty-year-old struggle. The Turks must accept the Kurdish identity. They should say in the constitution that there are other people in Turkey and accept a federal system, as in the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and Spain."
On page 217 in the book which is accessible over the Wikipedia library. Here in a BBC source below the image with the PKK flag it says
"In the 1990s, the PKK rolled back on its demands for an independent state, calling instead for more autonomy for the Kurds."
And in a Guardian article are also mentioned greater autonomy and cultural rights. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 06:21, 8 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lugnuts

I appreciate the archiving on Lugnut's page, but using the autoarchive doesn't exactly work. It puts everything in Archive 1 instead of the last Archive, 62. I've been manually archiving for a while, just cut and paste with a summery "arch" or similar. I haven't been curious enough to fix the problem, as it is easy to manually edit. I already fixed the archive myself, but wanted to just let you know you want to do this manually, so the chronology makes sense and all the deletion templates are in one place, which might prove useful for others. Dennis Brown - 01:57, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for coming to me, I also thought of finding a solution for the AfD notification from Lugnuts. I have Lugnuts page watchlisted, so I saw you archiving the notifications and thought it was ok, if I do just the same, but was then also surprised to see it goes to archive umber one and apparently it was not just the same. I guess I'll leave the task to you again next time.:)
Another solution would be if the notifications could be required for by another editor. I am rather sure others would be interested to get the notifications on their talk page.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 08:18, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We really shouldn't use "nobots" or redirect. Archiving is acceptable, but since it's a talk page, we are kind of stuck to just that. It will start to slow down soon. I just don't want the deletion notes to look like gravedancing, but at the same time, we are obligated to keep them accessible. No good solution. Dennis Brown - 23:03, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Juan de Valladolid

It would appear that based on the references that there was a rivalry between Juan de Valladolid and Montoro not a friendship. The exchanges between the two were satirical and insulting. Dan arndt (talk) 13:06, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up. My source said ...To his good and great friend 'We both belong to one and the same race—we are both Jews; the insults offered to you wound me also, and the injury which you suffer I suffer too.. Administrators' newsletter – June 2023

News and updates for administrators from the past month (May 2023).

Guideline and policy news

 • Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
 • As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.

Technical news

 • Bot operators and tool maintainers should schedule time in the coming months to test and update their tools for the effects of IP masking. IP masking will not be deployed to any content wiki until at least October 2023 and is unlikely to be deployed to the English Wikipedia until some time in 2024.

Arbitration

 • The arbitration case World War II and the history of Jews in Poland has been closed. The topic area of Polish history during World War II (1933-1945) and the history of Jews in Poland is subject to a "reliable source consensus-required" contentious topic restriction.

On operation murat and winter campaign of 1994-95

Why are you trying to change the topics of these channels when im literally giving out proper proof? The proof youre using for operation murat are from an article when the operation was ONGOING the proof i placed was an article updated after the operation had ENDED For the campaign, the campaign was done THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SOUTHEAST TURKEY, no few tens turkish soldiers dead, same with the kurds, check the casualties in kurdish turkish campaign for 1994-1995. TRAVERA1 (talk) 01:11, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have seen the names of the "martyrs". But there is no operation Murat in the source. You also removed sources and now I am trying to figure out what the sources from before and your sources say. Please bring sources that say operation Murat. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:17, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I found out that the text of Operation Murat is either a trimmed copy paste from a google translation of the source or you have a similar translation technique like google translate. It's ok for me, but I am not sure if for Diannaa as well. But that the victims died in the same operation is unsourced and I am not sure what the privacy policy states on their mention. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:40, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The listed soldiers are there because if you check where they were killed they are in the zone of the operation, the dates match up with operation murat aswell. TRAVERA1 (talk) 02:58, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thats not how sourcing works. Maybe there was another enemy in that zone? And terrorism in Turkey, ... maybe a few children flashed the victory sign or demanded education in Kurdish language
(this is terror in Turkey) and the soldiers died for this? We don't know. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 07:03, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How could there be another enemy in that zone? If so, they are apart of the operation and they are to be wiped out. Also stop saying as if kurds are being oppressed, there are literal sections for you to study in university about the kurdish language and history. TRAVERA1 (talk) 09:03, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have never said in our conversation Kurds are being oppressed. Anyway, doesn't matter, the soldiers dying from the Operation Murat is unsourced. They died and this is sourced, but from Operation Murat not and that article is about Operation Murat. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 09:45, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What youre saying is like, lets say, a german soldier was killed in the area conducted inside of operation barbarossa during ww2, the dates match wehn the operation barbarossa is going on and you say that "he wasnt killed in operation barbarossa" TRAVERA1 (talk) 21:19, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't believe you could add the name of a dead soldier of Operation Barbarossa if the source doesn't mention Operation Barbarossa. I requested page protection for now. If you insist, I believe you are heading for a block. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 21:22, 17 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fine delete them then TRAVERA1 (talk) 14:57, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But then you have to delete the amount of turkish soldiers killed in the infobox because in no where it mentions a single soldier being killed so you gotta make it literally 0, up to you TRAVERA1 (talk) 14:58, 18 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

New Pages Patrol newsletter June 2023

Hello Paradise Chronicle,

New Page Review queue April to June 2023

Backlog

Redirect drive: In response to an unusually high redirect backlog, we held a redirect backlog drive in May. The drive completed with 23851 reviews done in total, bringing the redirect backlog to 0 (momentarily). Congratulations to Hey man im josh who led with a staggering 4316 points, followed by Meena and Greyzxq with 2868 and 2546 points respectively. See this page for more details. The redirect queue is steadily rising again and is steadily approaching 4,000. Please continue to help out, even if it's only for a few or even one review a day.

Redirect autopatrol: All administrators without autopatrol have now been added to the redirect autopatrol list. If you see any users who consistently create significant amounts of good quality redirects, consider requesting redirect autopatrol for them here.

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team, consisting of Sam, Jason and Susana, and also some patches from Jon, has been hard at work updating PageTriage. They are focusing their efforts on modernising the extension's code rather than on bug fixes or new features, though some user-facing work will be prioritised. This will help make sure that this extension is not deprecated, and is easier to work on in the future. In the next month or so, we will have an opt-in beta test where new page patrollers can help test the rewrite of Special:NewPagesFeed, to help find bugs. We will post more details at WT:NPPR when we are ready for beta testers.

Articles for Creation (AFC): All new page reviewers are now automatically approved for Articles for Creation draft reviewing (you do not need to apply at WT:AFCP like was required previously). To install the AFC helper script, visit Special:Preferences, visit the Gadgets tab, tick "Yet Another AFC Helper Script", then click "Save". To find drafts to review, visit Special:NewPagesFeed, and at the top left, tick "Articles for Creation". To review a draft, visit a submitted draft, click on the "More" menu, then click "Review (AFCH)". You can also comment on and submit drafts that are unsubmitted using the script.

You can review the AFC workflow at WP:AFCR. It is up to you if you also want to mark your AFC accepts as NPP reviewed (this is allowed but optional, depends if you would like a second set of eyes on your accept). Don't forget that draftspace is optional, so moves of drafts to mainspace (even if they are not ready) should not be reverted, except possibly if there is conflict of interest.

Pro tip: Did you know that visual artists such as painters have their own SNG? The most common part of this "creative professionals" criteria that applies to artists is WP:ARTIST 4b (solo exhibition, not group exhibition, at a major museum) or 4d (being represented within the permanent collections of two museums).

DYK for 1971 Swiss women's suffrage referendum

On 18 June 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article 1971 Swiss women's suffrage referendum, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that after women's suffrage in Switzerland was approved in a referendum in 1971, the tabloid Blick sported a cover with a naked blonde and the headline "Thank you for the Roses"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/1971 Swiss women's suffrage referendum. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, 1971 Swiss women's suffrage referendum), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Lewis Milestone

Hi Paradise Chronicle, I've finished my c/e and I've removed the "tone" tag as I think I've sufficiently dealt with that problem. It's quite a complex article, I'm sure you'll agree. The lede / header needs expanding to give a full summary of the article (see here). I found the referencing system quite confusing; some of the quoted material in footnotes is unrelated to what's being said in the article, and multiple citations are used where not really necessary. As I said on my talk, I've moved a lot of mostly off-topic text and refs to the article's talk page; much of this could be used to expand the relevant film articles; see my edit summaries for full rationales. So it's now almost 20,000 bytes lighter. i also think the section and sub-section headers could be shortened and the article better organized. Anyway, good luck with the article and have fun. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 04:27, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bafflegab, thank you very much it was a pleasure to observe you. I was in fact not a major contributor, just a minor one. But after I noticed an edit war raged over the tone tag which led to a block, I thought i'd better bring the article to the specialists in tone and style. How you work is really good. Specially your saving of the removed info for just in case...I'll try that one too.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 07:03, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem and thank you. :) I was unaware of the edit war but the article really did need the copy-edit and the tone issue needed addressing. It's an interesting article. Cheers and good luck, Baffle☿gab 20:55, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey thanks, interesting article, didn't know about that one. I made some ce, added a few wls... what I doubt is whether the name of Fuat Heritage was really that. I believe it's a (mis)translation but I am not sure. The article also inspired me to expand Turgut Özals article a bit. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 07:23, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings Paradise Chronicle. Glad the article helps improve another. My error on ‘Heritage’, didn’t notice that, thanks for pointing it out, I have corrected it, you can please revisit. Contesting a close

Hello,

I noticed that you wanted to contest the close of the 2023 Israeli judicial reform protests nomination at ITN/C, but you did so by reverting an edit of mine that simply fixed a broken template & leaving a message in the middle of the template.

To contest it, rename the section to change (Closed) to (Reopened) and delete the following from the top:

Then delete abot from the bottom and leave a quick comment indicating that you've reopened a previously closed discussion, and that's all!

Though I will caution you that you may face an uphill battle considering how much opposition there was to your nomination. Small edits that don't add significant prose are usually not considered by the community to be sufficiently substantial when considering if a page should appear in Ongoing, and statements along the lines of "the oppose votes above are not valid" may not change minds unless the page has received major updates since their !votes were cast, as these editors already came to the conclusion that the updates up to that point were insufficient.

Best wishes,  Vanilla  Wizard 💙 05:11, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
