Laird (2016 population: 267) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Rosthern No. 403 and Census Division No. 15. Laird is located in the Saskatchewan River Valley. The village is named after David Laird, Lieutenant Governor of the Northwest Territories.[5]

Laird incorporated as a village on May 4, 1911.[6]

In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Village of Laird recorded a population of 267 living in 116 of its 118 total private dwellings, a -7.5% change from its 2011 population of 287. With a land area of 1.29 km2 (0.50 sq mi), it had a population density of 207.0/km2 (536.1/sq mi) in 2016.[9]

In the 2011 Census of Population, the Village of Laird recorded a population of 287, a 38.6% change from its 2006 population of 207. With a land area of 1.29 km2 (0.50 sq mi), it had a population density of 222.5/km2 (576.2/sq mi) in 2011.[10]
