Rasra (रसड़ा) is a city and a municipal board in Ballia district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Rasra is also known as 'Chhoti Kashi' and 'Nath Nagri'. In the past time, sugar was made from rotten sugarcane. So the city was named 'Rasra'.It has an important market for the nearby villages. Lounglatta is the famous sweet of Rasra. It's Dushehara fair is famous in Ballia district. Rasra has top schools of district. Rasra has second largest Durga Puja celebration in Uttar Pradesh after Ram Nagar, Varanasi. Gandhi Park, Nath Baba Mandir, Nath baba ka Pokhara, Kali Mandir, Purani Masjid, Eidgah Masjid, Sitaram ka Pokhara, Roshan Baba Mazaar, etc. are beautiful places of Rasra. It has a busy Sabzi Mandi, Fish Market, Chicken Market, Mutton Market. It has also Sadar Bazaar, Station Road Market, Hospital Complex Market, Mission Road Market, Kali Maa ka chauda,Chhitauni,etc.[citation needed]
