Mao Ichimichi (市道 真央, Ichimichi Mao, born February 1, 1992)[1][2] is a Japanese actress and voice actress. She played Luka Millfy a.k.a. Gokai Yellow in the Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. She started her career as a Japanese idol member of Horipro's HOP Club under the stage name Rio Minami (南 梨央, Minami Rio) and was also a gravure idol. She started an extensive voice acting career under the stage name M・A・O.[3]
Biography
Ichimichi made her debut under the stage name Rio Minami (南 梨央, Minami Rio) in October 2006 as a seventh-generation member of Horipro's idol group HOP Club.[4][5][6] She appeared in the variety show Enter! 371 in 2007. After the release of the idol DVD Ike Ike Go! Go! HOP Club in 2010, she left the group. After restarting her career, she abandoned her original stage name and signed with Yellow Cab Next. Ichimichi became a co-host in the Weekly Shōnen Jump variety show Sakiyomi Jan Bang!. In 2011, she landed the role of Luka Millfy/Gokai Yellow in the Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, following the footsteps of her former HOP Club batch mate Suzuka Morita. In June of that year, she released her first solo gravure idol DVD A Distant Shore, along with a companion photo book of the same title. She promoted her second idol video Apartment and photo book Afternoon Tea on December. She has released modeling calendars through Try-X.[7][8][9]
