Hertz Car Sales, a division of The Hertz Corporation[2] handles the transactions and sales of Hertz rental fleet in both B2B and B2C markets. The division is currently based in Park Ridge, New Jersey and will transition to the new Hertz headquarters in Estero, FL once completed. Their largest operating market is North America with over 80 dealer locations[3] between United States and Canada. Hertz Car Sales also operates worldwide and can be found in France,[4] Germany,[5] Italy,[6] Spain,[7] and United Kingdom.[8]

History

In November 2014, John Tague became the new CEO and president Of Hertz Global Holdings[1] which included all Hertz Car Sales operations. Among these changes Tyler Best became the new chief information officer, CIO[9] and Thomas Sabatino was appointed the new chief administrative officer.[10]

Locations

Hertz Car Sales currently operates in select countries worldwide and through Hertz licensees.

North America operations:

  • Hertz Rent2Buy is currently available in 35 States in the US.
  • At present, Hertz Car Sales has 73 retail locations located across the United States and Canada.[11]
  • Hertz Dealer Direct- is available nationwide in the United States and Canada.

As the new Hertz world headquarters continues its construction in Estero, FL. The Hertz Car Sales and rental building found in the complex has finished construction and opened for business.[12]

Fleet

De-fleeting Platforms

Hertz Car Sales has developed a variety of ways to sell its fleet to businesses and consumers. The core methods used to facilitate these transactions are:

  • Hertz Dealer Direct- A B2B platform developed by Hertz that allows for sales and services directly to automobile dealerships through an online portal and hertz representatives.
  • Hertz R2B Program- An online platform developed by Hertz that allows consumers to reserve active rental vehicles for a test drive for up to 3 days at a low rental rate. If a purchase is finalized these fees are waived.
  • Hertz Car Sales Locations- These are brick and mortar locations opened by Hertz that carry grounded rental vehicles that have been Hertz Certified and available for purchase by consumers.
