Isaiah 36 is the thirty-sixth chapter of the Book of Isaiah in the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. This book contains the prophecies attributed to the prophet Isaiah, and is a part of the Book of the Prophets.[1][2] The Jamieson-Fausset-Brown Bible Commentary describes chapters 36 to 39 as an "historical appendix closing the first division of Isaiah's prophecies ... added to make the parts of these referring to Assyria more intelligible".[3] The New King James Version entitles this chapter, "Sennacherib Boasts Against the Lord".[4] The text largely replicates 2 Kings 18:17–37 and 2 Chronicles 32:9–19.
