Janam TV (Malayalam: ജനം ടിവി), is an Indian television channel which broadcasts news and entertainment programmes in Malayalam. It is operated by Janam Multimedia Ltd, and its stated aim is to "promote national interest".[1] The NDA government led by Narendra Modi approved Janam Multimedia Ltd's application for a licence to broadcast television in 2014[2] and the channel launched on 19 April 2015.[3][4][5] Janam TV is the first Malayalam channel to broadcast in high-definition mode. It has around 5,000 share holders, who have taken shares varying from Rs.25,000 to a maximum of Rs five lakh.
