The Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009 is the sixth tour by the Jonas Brothers. It began on May 18, 2009. On this tour the Jonas Brothers visited multiple continents around the world. Honor Society will serve as an opening act, and Jordin Sparks will appear as a special guest.[15] The tour coincided with the release of their 4th studio album Lines, Vines and Trying Times which was released on June 16, 2009.[16] It won the Eventful Fans' Choice Award at the 2009 Billboard Touring Awards.[17]

Stage

The stage was set up in-the-round, and 144-feet-wide to allow for better audience viewing. It incorporated many features such as a one of a kind large circular water screen, laser and automated video effects and a giant crane that extends over the audience. This stage is similar to the one used in The Circus Starring Britney Spears. No it didnt have a crane because i was there and no crane or laser thing with video effects and water screen but the circular bit was right.

Support

Demi Lovato served as the supporting act for the European and Latin American tour dates.[18]

UK girl group Girls Can't Catch performed during the UK tour dates.[19]

The Wonder Girls, a Korean girl group, joined the Jonas Brothers in various North American tour dates.[20] On July 1, 2009 it was announced that the Jonas Brothers and their management asked the Wonder Girls to open for the entire tour.[21]

Also new pop singer Jessie James was added as a guest on tour. She served as a host for the concerts in June 2009 introducing each act and performing her single "Wanted". However she did not perform at the Portland, Oregon concert. [22]

Jordin Sparks did not appear at the San Antonio, Houston, or Nashville shows because of throat problems, which affected her ability to sing.

The concert in Switzerland was cancelled because Nick Jonas was ill with an upper respiratory infection of the nose and throat that affected his ability to perform.[23] As of November 8, 2009 Nick stated that his health was improved.[24]

While announcing Nick Jonas' side-project Nick Jonas and the Administration, the brothers announced they were planning a world tour to take place during the summer of 2010.[14]

On April 27, 2010 the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato officially announced the Jonas Brothers World Tour 2010 through their official websites and Myspace pages.[28][29] The tour will feature the Jonas Brothers and special guest Demi Lovato as well as their friends and co-stars from the Camp Rock films. The tour will combine both the artists' original songs and songs from the Camp Rock films. The pop group Savvy is also expected to perform as a supporting act on select dates.[30] The Jonas Brothers set list will also include songs from their Disney Channel Original Series Jonas L.A.[31]

The tour begins on August 7, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois at First Midwest Bank Amphitheater. It orginally was to begin on July 27, 2010 in Dallas, Texas, but was moved back, due to changes in their schedule. Although specific dates have yet to be announced for Europe, the tour will visit London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool, Ireland, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain.[32] Shows in Australia and Asia are also in the works.
