Moscow Cinema (Armenian: Մոսկվա կինոթատրոն) is the largest cinema hall in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, located on Charles Aznavour Square at Abovyan Street. It was built on the site of St. Paul and Peter Church, which was demolished in the 1930s by the Soviet authorities.[1] It was proposed in 2010 to demolish the cinema and rebuild the church.[1]
The cinema has participated in the 'Golden Apricot', an international film festival held in Yerevan every year since 2004.[2] The square in front of the cinema is named after Charles Aznavour as part of the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of Armenian independence in 2001.[3]
