Kenosha County is a county located in the state of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population is 149,577. Its county seat is Kenosha6. This county is part of Chicagoland.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,954 km² (754 mi²). 707 km² (273 mi²) of it is land and 1,247 km² (481 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 63.83% water.
Major highways[edit]
- Interstate 94 runs north/south for 12 miles through the Kenosha County dividing it into an eastern third containing Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie and a semi-rural western two-thirds.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 149,577 people, 56,057 households, and 38,455 families residing in the county. The population density is 212/km² (548/mi²). There are 59,989 housing units at an average density of 85/km² (220/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 88.38% White, 5.08% Black or African American, 0.38% Native American, 0.92% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 3.29% from other races, and 1.91% from two or more races. 7.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 56,057 households out of which 34.80% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.70% are married couples living together, 11.50% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.40% are non-families. 25.50% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.10% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.13.
In the county, the population is spread out with 27.10% under the age of 18, 9.40% from 18 to 24, 31.30% from 25 to 44, 20.70% from 45 to 64, and 11.50% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 98.30 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.30 males.
