Being the primary agency alerted when a Emergancy Location Transmitter(ELT)is triggered in the State of Kansas. Kansas wing will the activate air crews and ground teams to locate the ELT and evaluate if other resources are needed.

Aerospace Education

[edit]

MNWG is well known across the nation for its Aerospace Education program, and more specifically for its Flight Academy in Mankato, Minnesota. Every year, cadets from Minnesota, and sometimes places as far away as California come to the Academy. The Academy offers powered instruction in Cessna 172s and non-powered Blanik gliders. The goal of the Academy is to provide cadets with enough training to potentially complete their first solo flight while at the Academy.

Cadet Programs

[edit]

Many of the Squadrons in MNWG have cadets in them (as either a composite Squadron or a Cadet Squadron). Minnesota's encampment is held every year at Camp Ripley near Brainerd, Minnesota.
