Harry Potter video game articles[edit]

Hi Blue Pumpkin Pie. I saw you made a draft for a Draft:List of Harry Potter media; and I changed a few things. I hope that's cool. I've started work on the Draft:Harry Potter video games article I referred to at the start, but it needs some work. If you want to help out, that would be great. There's a lot of text that needs updating, and if you are any good at either reception sections, or development history, feel free to update. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 15:43, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

i don't mind. I'll take all the help I can get. I'm still new at this too, so I prefer someone adjusting it.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 16:18, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Lee Vilenski if you want, you can handle the video game list and I can handle the books and films section of the list. And i dont mind if you want to help out on the films and books too.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 22:52, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think you'd be better off talking to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Novels/Harry Potter task force when it's a bit more complete over the novels and film series. The seven books are all considered GA articles, currently, so likely they would want some input for this. Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 07:44, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Scans[edit]

Hey! Thanks for getting in touch. Do you have any idea which EGMs might contain information about the games? My collection is extremely out-of-order right now, and I own hundreds of magazines, so browsing is next to impossible for me at the moment. If I had specific issue numbers, it'd be much easier. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 08:47, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JimmyBlackwing: i wish i knew. I would assume it would have to be November 2005, December 2005 or January 2006 issue since its covering it as "handheld game of the year" for 2005.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 08:57, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'll see what I can do. Even in my disorganized pile of magazines, the later EGMs tend to be thin and easier to spot, so I might be able to dig these out. I'll let you know what I find. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 09:00, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I appreciate it. If you happen to find anything Lumines related. I'll take it too.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 09:03, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@JimmyBlackwing: After some research, I think it's in the March 2005 issue.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 10:21, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks! That will make my job much easier. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 10:33, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hey! I went through something like 40 EGMs from 2005-2008 and found nothing about Lumines Live or Lumines Supernova. That said, I did find the award for the original Lumines:
  • Staff (March 2006). "EGM's 2005 Games of the Year". Electronic Gaming Monthly. No. 201. pp. 80–84, 86, 88–91. - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
I also found a Game Informer interview with Mizuguchi about Lumines Live and several other games. Hope that's useful. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 19:59, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much. this is very helpful to me. I will be making use of all of it. I really appreciate it. I was hoping there would be coverage fro those two games, but I figured there wouldn't be much, so not that disappointed.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:30, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! Glad I could help—best of luck with the articles. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 20:42, 12 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lumines and the other allies[edit]

Sword in the stone
Nice work on the Lumines article, and the upcoming draft on which you made. ^_^

@Mayamaya7:Thank you! I honestly didn't think there was going to be enough information for the Lumines Live! article but after some digging and some help, I managed to get just enough information for one. The goal is thought o have all the articles at GA status. I'm still new at this, but digging for info hasn't been too bad so far. I just need to make sure I follow the rules.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 06:43, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Blue Pumpkin Pie: We're both new but I'm newer, and you have more skills when creating articles compare than me, to be honest, and BTW Lumines Supernova has many reliable sources and I made Lumines: Touch Fusion, Lumines: Puzzle & Music and Lumines Plus but Lumines Plus is in bad position, best of luck to you and thank you too :). Mayamaya7 Poke! 03:02 PM, 16 June 2018 (UTC)
@Mayamaya7: I'll search and see if there's enough info on Lumines Supernova. I hope there is. From what i heard its similar to Lumines Live! but with more content built into the base game and less DLC (and the exclusive game mode: Dig Down mode). So there might be enough if i look for it. I personally avoid making articles and drafts unless i find enough reception and development/release info. I noticed Lumines Live! info was piling up during research and that's how i ended up with a draft. I don't know if Lumines: Touch Fusion and Lumines Plus are notable on their own. I haven't found much information on those ones during my research. Lumines Plus is technically an expansion/port of the original game. Mizuguchi even said it himself. I'll give you more opinion on those soon. I definitely found a bit of info for Puzzle & Music. i just have to remember where it is.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 11:58, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:12, 29 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kingdom Hearts is owned by Disney[edit]

https://comicbook.com/2015/08/16/kingdom-hearts-comes-to-disney-infinity-at-d23-expo/

"A lot of people are confused about who exactly owns Kingdom Hearts, but it's Disney - it's developed in partnership with Square-Enix.". A direct quote from John Vignocchi. Also, if you did further research, you would see that Kingdom Hearts merchandise is copyrighted by Disney, not Square Enix nor co-owned.

Hello, Blue Pumpkin Pie. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "List of Harry Potter media".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Dolotta (talk) 20:39, 24 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Didn't understood[edit]

Hello @Blue Pumpkin Pie:!. I'm working on Edge (video game) article on Azerbaijani Wikipedia (as seen here). It is nearly finished, but I wasn't able to understand this particular sentence: "The game was well received by critics, albeit to different degrees based on the platform." What do you mean by "degrees"? Like limitations? --► Sincerely: A¥×aᚢZaÿïþzaþ€ 06:30, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Aykhan Zayedzadeh: I don't remember adding in that verbiage myself. I believe it is trying to say that the aggregated review scores vary between platforms it was released on. The smartphone and PSP versions are in the 80 percentile range and the PC and Wii U version are in the 70 percentile range. I hope this helps on your efforts :).Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 19:11, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Big O[edit]

I've heard about it but never checked it. First of all, there is something that confuses me. What is the series' primary media? The manga or the tv series? It's hard to tell with the infobox's dates. I've heard it's very famous too so I would use the GA Neon Genesis Evangelion as an example to follow. I don't understand well the plot section but is it episodic? If not, it would be a good idea to add certain important characters. Scores of the series in reception don't seem necessary so I would advise to have one paragraph focused on the plot and characters, one about animation, music, among others. The related media seems to lack sources for verifiability too. Hope this helps. I'm not a bit expert in mecha series.Tintor2 (talk) 21:09, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Tintor2: The anime is the main media. It is episodic, similar to Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex but each episode provides clues to a bigger mystery about Paradigm City itself. The last few episodes of the series are more connected. I'm not good with plot summarizing, and The Big O's approach to storytelling is hard to describe.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 21:16, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Re Dreamcast[edit]

Hi. About the Dreamcast efforts recently... I've now got Space Channel 5 up for GAN, and I'm working with a similar aim on a sandbox draft of its sequel. But there's one other game I've become interested in. If I can manage it and can maintain the flow, I might also do some work on Rez. After all, it is a Dreamcast game originally, and actually received an English-language release for that console in Europe. --ProtoDrake (talk) 09:22, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@ProtoDrake:Oh yes. I look forward to seeing your work. I could learn from the way you edit. I wanted to work on Rez last year as part of a project to make Tetsuya Mizuguchi into a Good Topic, but i ended up getting burned out.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 14:51, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Trip World 1[edit]

Regarding your translation request on my talk page. I understand that you are only interested in the review not in an exact translation of the whole article (for which I don't have time). As for [1], the first non-bold part is just a description of the game itself. This is followed by the text geht so in yellow which I understand to be the overall judgement of the reviewer. I don't know what categories they have for this judgement. Based on geht so (= ok-ish, suggesting: average not thrilled, just playable) I would place it somewhere in the lower middle section. Now to the detailed review printed in bold:

  • cute jump and run game and among the better games of this genre
  • detailed background graphics, fine sprite animations, matching sound effects, and pleasant background music
  • low levels are perfectly suitable for beginners
  • also suitable for very young players (children) because of the inoffensive topic and cute look of the enemies/opponents
  • especially noteworthy is the extensive German language manual and the clear game play
  • the opponents could defend against attacks more cleverly
  • for experienced players the main weakness is the lack of long-term motivation
  • the principle of the game starts to get boring after a short time

For the box on the bottom right:

  • game type,
  • producer: Sunsoft
  • test version from Sunsoft
  • number of players: 1
  • features: -
  • suitable for: beginners, intermediates, pros
  • approximate price: 70 Mark
  • graphics 70%
  • music: 60%
  • sound effects: 49%
  • fun: 68%

I hope that helps. Let me know if you need anything else from that article. bamse (talk) 13:00, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Trip World 2[edit]

Regarding [2]: is mostly a description of the game play and has very little review. The only interesting information would be:

  • a mix of packman (misspelled?) and streetfighter
  • main character is a cute creature
  • the game is about dexterity
  • the graphics of even the monsters ("boss") is friendly/cute
  • the reviewer can't say much about the background story as they only received the Japanese language description of the game
  • at the time of writing the game was only available in Japan and England (might mean UK here)
  • reviewer thinks that it is probably just a question of time until the game is available on the German language market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, etc)
  • a treat for fans of action games and for people who like to smile

Total verdict (in box) on a scale from 0 to 12:

  • graphics: 8
  • sound: 7
  • game play: 9
  • motivation: 10
  • total: 9

Hi! Have you really done 121 GA Reviews? User:GA bot/Stats currently lists it as such.

Congratulations if you have, but I would assume this is a typo (a two year account doing this would be 60 a year - about 5 a month on average.) Looking back through the history is difficult on the page, so I was wondering if you knew how many it was.

No sorry. i'm still a rookie. I think i barely touched 10. This is clearly a mistake. LOL hopefully one day.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 07:40, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The discussion[edit]

Hi! I just saw you created Wikipedia:Village_pump_(miscellaneous)#The_line_between_WP:ANIME_and_WP:TV. While I have no current opinion on this, is there a reason why wasn't this created as a RfC? From the Toriko discussion, I'd say this should affect en.Wiki globally. But because there is no RfC tag, it's still TV vs ANIME projects all over again, and there obviously isn't going to be any agreement. Regards, Jovanmilic97 (talk) 12:09, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

because i was harrassed a while ago for doing them wrong. If you want to make an RfC for it. you're' willing to do so. I'm not good at making those.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 14:59, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Toriko[edit]

I saw that the discussion was closed and wanted to follow up quickly. If Toriko is the main page, that is technically fine. As long as there is a summary and a link to the split page. What I would caution against in general, and kind of specifically with Toriko as well, is that splitting off an LoE page (or any page) isn't and should not be done automatically simply because something exists. WP:SIZE is used to determined when that is appropriate. In the case of Toriko, that current main page only has 12kb of readable prose, so that's typically not a reason to split anything off, not when an episode table that won't add much readable prose can simply be in a collapsed stated until someone wants to read it. Just food for thought.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 16:19, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

i don't know if collapsible episode lists is a thing.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 17:22, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean, if it's possible or if it's approved through the guidelines? If's doable by the code. It's allowable so long as the table is not set to auto-collapse the table when the page loads.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 18:01, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
WP:MOSTV doesn't mention anything about collapsing episode lists.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 18:25, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't mention a lot of things that are more general and not specific to TV articles. I'm not saying collapse it. I'm saying that if it were merged back (and given the size of the main article and the size of the LoE, that's not out of the realm of possibilities) then you could make it collapsible if people have a problem with the length of the table (which is a common complaint about episode tables on main pages).  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 20:23, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think we have to worry about it being merged back. It's a pretty solid list.Blue Pumpkin Pie (talk) 20:44, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
