Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of prime ministers of Canada by date and place of birth, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alexander Mackenzie. WP:BRFA is needed

[edit]

For insignificant edits, please gain consensus first and use the WP:BRFA process, also see WP:MEATBOT. With a bot flag, your edits won't flood RecentChanges and you'll have valid consensus before introducing insignificant edits. When running AWB in semi-automated mode, you must guarantee that you checked every edit, I am pretty confident that did not happen. That aside, atleast two people have regarded your edits as disruptive, so please pause the current activity, and a) slow down and check every edit, or b) gain bot approval. qedk (t c) 10:56, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, can you take care to evaluate the correct template for an article when the MDY template is already present. Adding the DMY template without checking for the existence of the MDY creates a conflict when both are present on an article. e.g your edit to the Roubaix article. - X201 (talk) 07:37, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

MOS:INFOBOXGEO states "where the article title is disambiguated, the plain name can head the infobox, as long as the topic is clear". This issue is also discussed at at Template talk:Infobox settlement/Archive 32#Redundancy in this infobox and Template talk:Infobox settlement#State Name in Infobox. The consensus appears to be that the state name should not be at the top of the infobox. The name of the state in these articles is a disambiguator. Cyrobyte (talk • contributions • email) 03:44, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Template talk:Infobox settlement#State Name in Infobox isn't an official vote for USA articles, because the question was asked in the wrong place. I clearly said in the same section "If this only concerns communities in United States, then this should be discussed and voted on at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Cities/US Guideline." but you ignored my comment. • SbmeirowTalk04:47, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of Grey Cup champions

[edit]

Note the following statement from List of Grey Cup champions:

As defined in the 2016 CFL's Facts, Figures, and Records and the 2023 CFL Guide & Record Book, for historical record purposes and by the current Ottawa Redblacks' request, the Ottawa Football Clubs are considered to be a single entity since 1876 with two periods of inactivity (1997–2001 and 2006–2013). Consequently, figures from the Ottawa Football Club (1876–1898), Ottawa Rough Riders (1899–1919, 1931–1996), Ottawa Senators (1920–1930), Ottawa Renegades (2002–2005), and Ottawa Redblacks (2014–present) are included as one.

In summary, all Ottawa CFL football clubs are considered to be a single entity.Assadzadeh (talk) 03:20, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that you are trying to improve the article by center aligning the first column, which should be working correctly, but while you are also trying to right align the second column (Date), the changes you are making are screwing up the sorting. As such, when you sort down, the years 1916 to 1919 appear first and when you sort up, the most recent date (2026 in this case) which should appear first, does not. Assadzadeh (talk) 20:02, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One suggestion would be to make the Date column not sortable, similar to what you are proposing for the Score column. Assadzadeh (talk) 21:07, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the updates, the sorting now works correctly for the Date colum. Assadzadeh (talk) 22:05, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Hi Cyrobyte. Thanks for helping to reverse the removal of my edits that I invested time and research in, by users 2601:147:4700:2000:418A:557A:92B3:8437 and 68.33.255.195, who have been persistently attacking the rice and peas page. I am getting tired of it, and I would like to complete my edit. How can I report or block these attackers, or prevent the removal of content? Xaymacan (talk) 01:29, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Xaymacan. I am happy to help you. If you would like, you could go to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and report IP addresses or accounts that are engaging in vandalism to administrators, who can block them. Additionally, you could request the Rice and peas page to be protected at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Cyrobyte (talk) 01:34, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a mill! I just completed a protection request. Do you know how long this usually takes? Also, will this affect or restrict my ability to continue editing freely, since I am not the original creator of the page? I wrote almost all of the content and contributed almost all the pics (personal images) though. Also, in the interim, is there something that I can do on my end to prevent deletion of content? I will explore the other option you mentioned.Xaymacan (talk) 01:44, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Cyrobyte. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! TheSandDoctor Talk 06:21, 18 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
