Heymister14, please don't take the CSD notices personally—it's great to see new people editing at Wikipedia. However, I suggest that you do read some of the links on this page, which will help you get better results in the future. Oh, I also recommend you read Referencing for beginners, as none of the pages you created included any sourcing. If you have any particular questions, feel free to ask on my talk page. And again, welcome! DoriTalkContribs 00:55, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Elin Zetterstrand requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. DoriTalkContribs 00:44, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please be aware of Wikipedia's policy that biographical information about living persons must not include unsupported or inaccurate statements. Whenever you add possibly controversial statements about a living person to an article or any other Wikipedia page, as you did to Ray William Johnson, you must include proper sources. If you don't know how to cite a source, you may want to read Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners for guidelines. Thank you. 117Avenue (talk) 03:12, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I note your request on my talk page. In wikipedia, a youtube presence is not notable. I am therefore unable to restore your article. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:52, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I note your comment on my talk page saying that you have a rough life. It is not clear to me how that is meant to affect my assessment of your article. If the subject thereof has notability outside youtube, you did not mention it in your text. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:10, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea how long it took you to create this rather short article. But my assessment of it remains unchanged, and I am not going to restore it. Advice on notability, etc

[edit]

Hello, Heymister14. I see that you have created several articles which have been deleted, and that you have, understandably, been disappointed by this. Looking at those articles, I wonder whether you have ever read Wikipedia's notability guidelines, and I thought that if you haven't it might be helpful to suggest doing so. The most relevant ones are the general notability guideline and the guideline on notability of people. If you read those it will probably give you a better idea of what sort of subject is suitable for an article. You might also find it helpful to read the guideline on reliable sources, if you haven't already. On a separate issue, I suggest that you stop posting to User talk:Anthony Bradbury. Anthony has made his position clear, and some people might see coming back after a couple of weeks or so to repeat your concerns as harassment. Finally, while I do understand how frustrating it is to see work you have done discarded (I have had that experience myself), you should try to avoid taking deletion or reversion of your edits personally, as far as you can. Unfortunately, anyone doing any significant amount of editing of Wikipedia will sometimes find their work is undone, and you need to be able to accept that fact if you are to survive here. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:12, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

And, I say again, you can obtain the view of the community at deletion review page. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:25, 9 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Notch (game designer)‎, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Nathan2055talk 17:16, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make statements attacking people or groups of people. Wikipedia has a strict policy against personal attacks. Attack pages and images are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

117Avenue (talk) 01:42, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did not delete your username; usernames cannot be deleted. Your userpage was deleted because you were using it to attack Anthony Bradbury; the "Attack pages" link in the comment just above this one goes to a page that will tell you why we don't permit attack pages. Moreover, you will notice that the First Amendment says that "Congress may make no law..."; the text does not restrict the rights of non-governmental entities. As for the pages that Anthony has deleted — as far as I can tell, none of them explained why the subjects were important: why they deserved to appear in an encyclopedia, as encyclopedias don't cover absolutely everyone. If you want to write biographical articles, please make sure that the people you write about have received substantial coverage in multiple reliable sources — books, academic journals, newspapers (over a sustained period of time, not just a bunch of newspapers all around the same time), authoritative websites. Nyttend (talk) 20:01, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, what you wrote qualifies under Wikipedia's concept of an attack page, and pages that so qualify are subject to immediate deletion. You may create a new userpage, but please be careful not to use it to attack others. Nyttend (talk) 04:28, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is a private website, and you have no free speech here. You agreed to rules: no personal attacks against other editors was one of them. Any form of attack page must immediately be removed, as per policy. You have at least two "Articles" that were deleted, plus your userpage. Those 2 "articles" did not come anywhere close to being applicable on an encyclopedia. Do no attack or complain about admins who are doing their volunteer job, simply because you created a non-notable article that had to be deleted per policy (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:06, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I accept your apology. Of course. Feel free to ask if you need advice in the future about editing. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 13:40, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for your message on my talk page, under the heading "I did learn". Yes, I accept that you did, and I'm sorry if my comment seemed unfair. I have given a longer answer to your message on my talk page, and also some advice which I hope will help you have a better experience in the future. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:55, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Brock Baker has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ObtundTalk 02:00, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recent page creation

[edit]

You seem to be having many issues with your edits, and your page creation. But before I can help you, you have to understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and everything in it must be true. Now you joined on March 31st, but you have still not understood the five pillars of Wikipedia. Every thing on here must be verifiable. You add edits, which is great, but you don't include a source. When you do include a source, it's not in the proper format. and nobody likes that and could be construed as vandalism. (Adding a link at the bottom of a page doesn't cut it.) Many of the pages you have created are not notable people such as:

  1. Elin Zetterstrand Made twice, and deleted
  2. William Annin Made twice, and deleted
  3. Brock Baker And also made twice, and once deleted and to be deleted a second time.

All of these pages were deleted under A7 since they were not notable. After those pages were deleted, you created them again, they were deleted one more time. Before creating any new articles please review the notability guidelines, it will only help you. I recently changed the tag on Brock Baker, but still it will be deleted because here, Anthony Bradbury told you that Youtube personalities are not notable, which follows guidelines. Even here JamesBWatson is telling you exactly what I have just told you. Then you told JamesBWatson that "I did learn", but apparently you still haven't. You have also been advised multiple times to cite you sources, but you still fail to do so. I tagged you for sources, but really the page should be deleted because Brock Baker is not a notable person. If you need any help, or if you have any questions you can always write on my talk page, or respond below. ObtundTalk 02:51, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unlike my other pages, this time I had a source. It was for imdb and all the information was there. Also, I explained his career outside of Youtube. Heymister14 (talk) 14:50, 27 June 2012
None of the information was there, the sources were not cited correctly and still he is not notable because you do not give a source of him in Oreo or Aflac, and those events are not notable as is. ObtundTalk 16:13, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, James Holmes (Aurora Shooting)

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, James Holmes (Aurora Shooting). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - 2012_Aurora_shooting. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at 2012_Aurora_shooting - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. --IShadowed 00:27, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your articles

[edit]
  • Hey there. I notice you have created a few articles so far, only for them to be subsequently deleted. It's not uncommon for new users to have their article attempts deleted - there are a great many policies and guidelines to abide by that most newbies don't have any idea of. I'd like to direct you towards the articles for creation project. If you click that link you'll see it takes you to a page where you can attempt articles by another method. On that page there's an option to "Create an article now!" which takes you to the article wizard.
  • If you use the wizard to create articles, you can write them in the form of a draft and submit them for review. That way, if the article isn't suitable, instead of being deleted it will be reviewed by an experienced editor who will tell you what the problems are and you can keep trying again. It's a lot less disheartening than seeing your articles deleted. Good luck and regards, OohBunnies! (talk) 00:46, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources needed

[edit]

Hi, I undid your changes to Markus Persson here because those claimes were not in the gamasutra cite, and wikipedia's Verifiability policy requires reliable sources. I could not find sources for who his parents were or when he left Ystad, also I could not find a reliable source positively linking "ez" to Elin Zetterstrand. For the latter Persson may have tweated something more definitive but I have not been able to find it. -84user (talk) 21:23, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry for not placing the citations right away.

  • The part about his parents came from here: [1]
  • In Minecraft: The Story of Mojang Markus says that he was born in a small town in the country called Ystad. It's on Youtube.
  • On the Minecraft Wiki it says that ez's real name is Elin Zetterstrand. It also says that she is a Swedish artist, like her brother Kristoffer Zetterstrand and was born on November 9, 1980. Heymister14 (talk) 23:25, 19 August 2012 (UTC)heymister14[reply]

Deletion discussion about Winnebago_Scout_Reservation

[edit]

Hello, Heymister14,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Winnebago_Scout_Reservation should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Winnebago_Scout_Reservation .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Nomination of Steven Van Voorhees for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Steven Van Voorhees is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steven Van Voorhees until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Tinton5 (talk) 06:10, 8 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. If you can, rework the article for prose, since I basically "fact-dropped" directly out of the sources without any regard to sentence structure, etc. Also, if you can find anything else on him, it would greatly add to the article. I'll review it later.
Writing an article on anything gets easier, with time and practice :) - Theornamentalist (talk) 15:15, 9 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kurt Cobain, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chevron (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Factual changes to Kurt Cobain article

[edit]

You recently made some factual changes to the Kurt Cobain article. One of those was obviously incorrect. The others had cited references, which you did not change or add to, but yet you changed information in them. This makes me suspicious of your changes there. Would you please explain them? Please stop adding unsourced content, as you did to Tommy Wiseau. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. McGeddon (talk) 09:32, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
