Hello, I reviewed it and it appears all the vandalism has been taken care of so far. (There's some recent good faith edits that could use cleaning up though.) Help?

You seem to be pretty good at finding reliable sources. Our stub on the Cardinal Kung Foundation was deleted under A7 back in December. They are generally considered a reliable source for what is happening in the underground Roman Catholic Church in China, so almost everything I find google searching either a news agency or blog quoting them about what happened to somebody. ("The Vatican press office said it had no information on the death, but noted that the Cardinal Kung Foundation has been a reliable source of information about the underground church in China in the past." [1] I think we ought to have an article, but can't readily find sources to make an AFD proof article. GRBerry 19:18, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

Disruption of WP

Excuse me, the rules as far as I know them are:

• After 5 days the discussion may be closed.
• WP is not a bureaucracy.
• The issue didn't have a snowball's chance in the first place.
• The result was posted with respect to the obviously prevailing view.

Hey listen, I am not playing games here at WP.

That insurmountably prevailing view on the issue had established itself several days before I closed the discussion APPROPRIATELY. I also know that the "administrative" types involved were taking actions AGAINST the prevailing view, in closing the second discussion. I was seriously concerned that it would close with a different conclusion.

The move that occurred during the discussion is exactly where the material has ended up after the discussion, APPROPRIATELY. Furthermore, the case for deletion is always stronger for a less-improved version, than an improved version of anything. So therefore, the foolish revert only served the agenda of trying to impose the eponymous cat policy, NOT IMPROVING THE WP. My move consisted in an improvement, and it (and all of my actions) came with appropriate notice.

Proposing to delete categories on which people are working is DISRUPTIVE. Halting the improvement of articles, in order to undergo an obviously futile administrative process, is DISRUPTIVE. As further evidence of my good citizenship here, I have proposed to amend the policy which was originally foolishly applied. We are here for the content, not the bureaucracy.

I have read the policy you cite in warning me WP:DPR#NAC. It appears that I have acted substantially IN ACCORDANCE WITH IT. Furthermore, the policy that requests for non-admins to not close CfD discussions appears to do so because of technical limitations that DO NOT APPLY in this case.

You have cited WP:OWN, a policy of which I am thoroughly aware. You cite no actual REASON for citing it. Please explain this accusation or rescind it please. Your giving me this inappropriate warning implies to me that perhaps YOU have some ownership issues. You can't handle an non-administrative close with plenty of notice, and a slam dunk conclusion?

Your notice to me consists entirely in bureaucracy for bureaucracy's sake. My actions were obviously in good faith, nonharmful, and NON DISRUPTIVE of any meaningful contributions to WP.

I realize that your communication to me is meant in a good spirit, and that this TYPE of warning is necessary on occasion. However, in this case it is NOT appropriate. Please remove your accusation. I fixed the problem by removing an errant vertical bar. Honestly, I have no idea how that code was able to function previously using the old plainlink code, but it was. I looked at it and going from the last edit on the 10th here by Gscshoyru to the IP edit here the total changes over the 3 days came out to nothing. Weird. By the way the stat page is a bit deceptive, I added very little to the page and 27/28 of my edits were nothing more than reverting vandalism. Cheers. Islam and animals

Hi Jreferee,

Before everything I was impressed by the dedication you have in Wikipedia. You really deserve appreciation. The problem with Islam and animals is like that of many other articles in that area. There is certainly an edit war going on there; not that there has not been any discussion on the talk page, to the contrary. It seems that no agreement has been achieved and edit war has surfaced again. I think the best way to proceed is through mediation and/or involvement of new editors. A page protection sometime helps towards mediation but in many cases it simply adds a delay to the system. Edit wars start once the article becomes unprotected. What is most needed I believe is involvement of new good-faith, experienced editors, not only here but in many other Islam related articles.

Thank you for your message. I do think the article could be improved if new and unregistered users were blocked from editing it. The problem with many of the unregistered edits is that they are in violation of NPOV and RS policies. Where possible, I try to improve sourcing of statements and show alternatives if both have RS. Hello

I did some edits on black hole which were reverted by you. The edits were made anonymously, sorry about that, but at least the first of them is essential to correct an embarassing confusion in the current version of the page. The "Fireball" at RHIC is not a black hole in the traditional sense of the word, nobody thinks that it is, and the article makes it seem both that it is a "micro black hole" and second that it is a "questionable" phenomenon. It is neither. It is a well established phenomenon with an analogy to black hole physics. I left a summary of edits on the talk page for Black hole. Hope at least the first edit gets put back--- its really misleading in the current version. Likebox 02:43, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks for protecting Desinicization campaign. I actually brought that to another administrator's attention the other day (Jmlk17), the constant edit warring between purely anon editors, and the unwillingness to follow policy and guidelines, was making anyone else's contributions impossible. I very nearly requested protection at WP:RFPP, but I thought I would try a post on the talk page and see if that helped first. Since you've picked it up, it now has excellent references, which was the main issue, with only one reference (in Chinese) it was impossible to know what was fact and what was POV. I have to say I'm really happy you got involved, because I don't know a thing about this subject, and it would have been very hard for me to "fix" it, lol. Additionally, I'd like to thank you for protecting Anna Wilding, lol. I was also asked to review that situation, and I'd like you to take a look at the conversation on Timotab's talk page regarding it. It is worrisome that the editor in question has made some threatening comments, regarding police action. While I don't put a lot of stock in such threats, they should be reviewed by an administrator, perhaps. The editor strongly appears to have a connection to the subject, so I've dropped a note regarding some of the important policies, guidelines, and other issues, (WP:RS, WP:BLP, WP:COI, WP:NPOV, etc.), in the hopes that at least it may help the editor be aware of some core issues. RE Searching alternative weekly newspapers

As you requested, I've set up Template:Alternative newspaper search. It works the same way as Template:Search, but for four newspapers I selected at random from List of alternative weekly newspapers. Desinicization campaign

Oh boy... alright, you ready for the next chapter in this saga? lol. I believe that immediately after I requested on the talk page, for 71.156.32.55 to create an article, they did so, with the name Adka92 (see contribs for both to compare times), and then, that user, realizing that they could no longer revert your redirect from Desinicization (I requested protection, as it was being reverted and the POV article being re-created), proceeded to create a brand new article, copying and pasting the old Desinicization article into it, De-sinicization, replacing the link on Sinicization to that, instead of to the old article. This is just getting ridiculous, and allowing yet another version of the same article. They are not happy with the renaming and moving, and I don't know enough about the topic to debate the issue. I hope you can figure this out, but it really appears to be unconstructive. ^Ariel♥Gold 09:38, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

I would like to point out firstly, that I hardly call the "change" I made on the CN Tower page, "vandalism" And 2, if you look the facts up, the CN Tower is 181 stories tall. The skypod, which is the last observation deck, is 147 stories tall. But the "Tower" itself is equivalent to 181 building stories, trust me, I live in Toronto. I don't appreciate the threat when clearly you have not checked out the facts, and call my subtle change, Vandalism. Currently, I am not really working on the article as much as I did a few months ago. I have noticed that the vandalism is disruptive at time, but also fairly manageable. I agree. There appear to be legal threats on User:Real77's talk page, although difficult to tell because of the poor writing. I've asked David to forward the evidence he was sent, given his recent declaration that he's not going to work on the article. Also, given that Real77 has several times accused me of "locking" the article, could you please explain on the Wilding talk page that it was you that protected it, why you did it, and that it's only semi-protected which means that Real77 can still edit the article as long as they are logged in (but if they try to edit it as an IP as they seem to like to do, it won't work). Wilding

Hey Jreferee - I'm going to do some work on the Wilding article. I've spoken to Anna Wilding on the phone. Much of the problem is that Tim is right in much of what he is doing, but the Real77 editor, who is a newbie and thus unaccustomed to "our ways" is also representing Wilding (she is in touch with him). It's not that Real is putting on incorrect stuff; he is putting on stuff for which there is little third party evidence. I am going to probably do--she has tentatively agreed--an interview with her, which with my Wikinews accreditation allows me to do original journalism. I think that once we do that as a third party source, many of the issues will be ironed out. Right now, the article is an utter mess, but I don't think there is a rush to do anything with it, if Tim and Real would take a bit of a break from it. Problem at Brett Favre

There is a user who was community banned quite a while ago (User:Starwars1955), and he keeps creating sock puppets to edit the Brett Favre article. Many of the admins who I knew around the time this guy was causing trouble are either retired or wikibreaking extensively, so I was hoping you could step in and start blocking his socks when they come up. Most recently is User:800 Home Runs. If you feel uncomfortable blocking a user without quite knowing what's going on, you can take a look here and here. Chris Rush

Hi Jreferee, just wanted to let you know that the PROD you placed on Chris Rush yesterday has been removed by an IP, who, in my opinion, has actually made the article much, much worse. I came across this in preparing to nominate the article for deletion myself. I'm somewhat familiar with Rush, and he did no found National Lampoon as the article claims. Furthermore, the article makes several claims which may violate WP:BLP, specifically the "His Downfall" section, which makes several unsubstantiated claims of drug and alcohol abuse, as well as some POV in that section, i.e. he found himself not the entertainer he once was. Okay I fixed the string of dates. I also took the liberty of changing the background color to a tan/beige color, rather than that screaming loud blue, as the other parts of the page were done in browns/tans. Okay, if you hate it, I'll , but I hope you'll be . Check your userpage. I didn't try to make it too different, mostly just moving the sections into small cells of different color, but keeping the overall layout. I also updated your RfA page, as Dragon's wasn't working anymore, so I put on Tango's which updates the half hour of every hour. Also, I moved the top navigation bar into a subpage so it is easier to add/remove/change icons/links. If you hate the colors (I just based it from your "Quotes" page, and from the footers) and want it all to be a blue, or a teal/blue, or some other color, that's not a problem to fix/change. Yes, that's because the link colors are specified, for example, links you haven't visited are blue, and visited links are a purple. The custom sig markup allows us to over-ride those, thus allowing colors to appear no matter if they're visited or not. Hi Jreferee, I sort of explained what I was trying to do in my edit summary, but now see I didn't explain in the actual db-notice itself, and didn't give the name of the other article so you could check.

The current article at Whitefish Mountain Resort is just a cut and paste move that another editor made from Big Mountain Ski Resort. I just need Whitefish Mountain Resort gone so I can do a page move to the correct name. I don't need a merge of the histories, as there is no history to merge. I know, that's what I'm trying to fix. The page I want deleted, Whitefish Mountain Resort, has no history, except for the act of pasting the contents of Big Mountain Ski Resort. Hi - why did you just delete my article - please can you advise where I went wrong - it is late and I have been rewriting the paragraphs that seemed to be a problem. INVOLVE is funded by the Department of Health and is a great source for people wanting to find out about research in to public health - it would be more helpful if you could adivse me of what to do before deleting an article - the other administrator was trying to help. Removal of userspace offensive to you

I have removed most sandbox space that offended you. How many spaces am I allowed? I would like some scratch ones available because when I need one, I have already copied something and want a place to paste it. I have been the victim of several articles that were "immediately deleted" unfairly, I thought. I had no backup. There is very little warning on those things. If I were home and had little warning, I could copy it to my own hard disk since you are so pressed for space. I am currently on the road with a hospitalized in-law awaiting his demise. Could further deletion await his burial or do you need further space now? Student7 23:11, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
