Hi there. I have a problem, and I'm hoping you can help me with it. The image File:Kmfdm jules starlite.jpg that you uploaded a few years ago doesn't quite have a clear explanation that it is released into the public domain. Are you Mike Kendrick, the photographer who actually took the photo? I need to clear up its usage permissions for the KMFDM article, which I'm trying to promote to featured status. Thanks for any help or information you can provide. Torchiest talkedits 00:23, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Ok... You would probably need to find out the original uploader who uploaded it to English Wikipedia. Since the original file is now deleted I guess you have to be an admin to check the history of it. I hope this helps. // Liftarn (talk)
Ah, okay, thanks. The admin who deleted the en.wiki page said its history was identical in their deletion message. I assumed that meant the same uploader. I'll get in touch with them. Thanks for your help. Torchiest talkedits 13:51, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Candysuck requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. ukexpat (talk) 02:27, 20 February 2011 (UTC)

Road to nowhere

Please see MOS:DAB, especially the first paragraph. See also WP:Disambiguation dos and don'ts. File:Odpusage.png needs authorship information.

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Odpusage.png appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Liftarn/Archive 9}} will produce an appropriate expansion,

or the {{own}} template..

If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:46, 18 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Sdsticker.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. 2) Wiki needs to recognize which scientific journals are utilized and sourced by scientists in this field of physics.

I predict a tremendous increase in the readability of the article.

Query to the Scientific Community: To the Directors of Physics Departments,

2) Do you offer a class in this discipline? If so, please provide information.

3) Are you developing a curriculum of this science? If so, when will you offer it?

4) What peer review journals do you utilize or source in this field?

3RR warning

Your recent editing history at Counterjihad shows that you are in danger of breaking the three-revert rule, or that you may have already broken it. An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Breaking the three-revert rule often leads to a block.

If you wish to avoid being blocked, instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. You may still be blocked for edit warring even if you do not exceed the technical limit of the three-revert rule if your behavior indicates that you intend to continue to revert repeatedly. Removing Speedy at Мистер Твистер

Hi Liftarn, you recently removed a deletion tag from Мистер Твистер. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:23, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

As you write in English I assume you do understand English and it would not be far fetched to assume that you actually can tell the difference between English and Russian. Please view the article and notice that it a) is written in the Latian alphabet (with the exception of names) and b) the article is written in English. // Liftarn (talk)

Category:Antisemitism

Hi Liftarn

I have closed your nomination at WP:CFD to merge Category:Antisemitism to Category:Anti-Judaism.

I am neutral on the merits of the proposal, but if you want to open a discussion it is important to do so in a way which does not lead to a procedural row. I am sure that you acted in good faith, but there were several problems with the nomination which would have caused a lot of problems if it had proceeded.

  1. The convention is for the first line of the nomination to simply state the action proposed, without any reasoning. That allows other editors to quickly see what is proposed, before examining why it is proposed
  2. The convention is that the next line of the nomination is an explanation by the nominator of the reasons why they think that action should be taken, followed by their sig.

If that is done, then other editors can see at a glance what is proposed, why it is proposed, and who is proposing it. However, all you had was supporting quotes, without any explanation in your own words, and with out even your [WP:SIG]]. This obscured that what, why and who of the nomination, and misled editors into believing that the nomination was made by someone else.

As I noted in my closing remarks, you should feel free to make a new nomination which avoids these problems. If you'd like help in putting it together, I'd be happy to assist. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 13:31, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Liftarn. I've been puzzled by the mistakes in the above article. I see that some of them date back to the time when the article was first drafted. I also see that the references provided have now disintegrated through, I suppose, link-rot. One does remain but it has internal conflicts. I think the big thing that is wrong with the article is that it begins by apparently muddling Ambi-Budd with Edward G Budd Manufacturing Company of Philadelphia.

You seem to be the most knowledgeable editor about this business so I thought you might like to sort it out. Can't do it myself. While I can see it is wrong as it stands I don't know enough to be sure to fix it correctly. Regards, Eddaido (talk) 22:05, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Signing posts on talk pages

Hi Liftarn - I've noticed that in your recent talk page posts, you've been signing each message with your name only, not the name and date that is the usual. Dated comments are useful both so that other editors can see (at a glance, and without having to analyze the page history) when you made your comments, and also so that various and sundry bots which maintain and automatically archive talk pages will work properly. The usual way to sign a comment is with four tildes: ~~~~. If you inadvertently leave one off (just three tildes: ~~~) then it produces an undated signature; I'm guessing that's what's happening for you. WP:TILDE has all the gory details. Thanks! edit summary and ref format

Information icon Hi, if you could be so kind, can you toss in a small edit summary when you edit? I have nothing against your edit on the PEGIDA page which I contribute to too, but an edit summary would facilitate working through my watch list a lot. It's a simple form of paying respect to others...

Also, realizing that you are not a new editor I hate to say it, but your reference format just doesnt cut it (rawlink +title)!--Wuerzele (talk) 16:55, 23 January 2015 (UTC)

We at Wikipedia love evidence-based medicine. Please cite high-quality reliable sources. We typically use review articles, major textbooks and position statements of national or international organizations. A list of resources to help edit such articles can be found here. The edit box has a build in citation tool to easily format references based on the PMID or ISBN. WP:MEDHOW walks through editing step by step. We also provide style advice about the structure and content of medicine-related encyclopedia articles. The welcome page is another good place to learn about editing the encyclopedia. Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Circumcision shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

A tag has been placed on File:Fordsidevalve.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
