Hello!

In re Kyrene Centennial Middle School: I am bringing this page to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. The deletion discussion is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kyrene Centennial Middle School. I believe the page is not notable per Wikipedia precedent that generally advises of redirects for the articles of middle schools.

As to your talk page, please do not remove content without archiving it. I have already created an archive of the contents of your talk page.

Thank you, Raymie (tc) 22:57, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Falsely accused of vandalism.

I didn't vandalize anything. Both the Angry Beavers page and Josh Keaton's pages were vandalized before I got there and I simply fixed it.

"(Yo dawg, I heard you liked weird ass sentences so I put a weird ass sentence in your weird ass sentence. AKA Fix that shit!)" clearly does not belong on Josh's page and thus needs to be removed.

I am so sorry. I fixed up the text I would have made with the text you had, I thought you had made the vandalisim, and I was reverting it, instead you fixed the vandalism and I undid it, I am very sorry. Shakinglord (talk) 15:46, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks to you too for helping out there! If this IP does it again, please place a warning (uw-pov4 I guess?) on his talk-page. I have no problem blocking him, but want to make sure there's a record of others besides me noting the severity of the problem. DMacks (talk) 20:18, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Request: Permanent block

Hello Excirial! A couple months ago I warned ip 63.199.37.150 on vandalism of Ostrich on his talk page. I noticed he had vandalism all the way back to 2008. After I warned him, there have been reapeated warnings and blocks to his account, with no sign of stopping his vandalism. I have requested that ip 63.199.37.150 be blocked permanently. I also left a message on his talk page. Please connsider my request. Shakinglord (talk) 21:36, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

IP adresses are never permanently blocked, since an IP address is not a static means that can be used to identify a user. For example, an IP adress may be dynamically assigned by an ISP at the beginning of every session, which would mean that the same IP address would represent a different user a day later. Even statically allocated IP addresses (IP's given to set customers) may eventually change due to network adjustment or due to users changing ISP's.
In general this means that IP's are not blocked for long amounts of time, unless vandalism is extremely similar or persistent. In cases of schools blocks can go up to 5 years, though they mostly limit at 1 year (Easy enough to reblock after the year expires). In this case the vandalism isn't so persistant, so the 1 month will easily deal with it. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 21:52, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

Two questions

  1. How many times do you need to be told the same thing before you understand that Vintageceilingfans is a sockpuppet? The information is right here. Checkusers are a handful of editors who have the ability to see technical data--IP, useragent, operating system, etc--of anyone who edits the site. See here for more details.
  2. What is your connection to Vintageceilingfans? Your refusal to accept what you have been told several times seems to indicate there is one. → ROUX  20:22, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
I concur with ROUX, jpgordon has been a highly trusted and valued Checkuser for many years and your accusation that his assertion that a CU shows a user is a sockpuppet is a lie, is an unfounded personal attack. I strongly recommend that you strike that accusation and refrain from making such unfounded attacks in the future. Dreadstar 20:34, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

What bothers me is that some admin lied about bieng attacked. Shakinglord (talk) 23:53, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

No admin lied here. Please answer my questions. → ROUX  23:58, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

I not saying an admin lied, I am saying it SEEMED as if they were lying. And, for your information, I have no affiliatiuon with Vintagecelingfans. Please do not accuse me anymore. Shakinglord (talk) 00:06, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

I do not like being interrogated by you, and I will not be intimidated by you. Shakinglord (talk) 00:10, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Ah, so you don't like accusations and questioning aimed at you, but it's fine for you to accuse others of lies and abuse? That's rich. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 00:16, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
'Tis the Wikipedia Way, BSZ. → ROUX  00:18, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Yep, they like to dish out the dirt, but they demand to be treated with respect in return -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 00:21, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
I'm not intimidating you, nor trying to. The very simple fact of the matter is you were told before exactly what happened, and provided with links to verify for yourself. And yet for some reason you decided you had to ask the exact same question in a different venue. Why? → ROUX  00:18, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh, and you said (and I quote) "What bothers me is that some admin lied about bieng attacked" - so you DID say that an admin lied - me, in fact -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 00:21, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

[redacted]I understand that vintagecelingfans was a dirtyl ittle sock, and the "heroic" admins put him away. Shakinglord (talk) 00:25, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

I refuse to be insulted by you, Boing said zebedee, or your childish jeers or juvenile insults, and will attempt to ignore your unspeakable and uncalled for bullying. Shakinglord (talk) 00:28, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

When I brought the subject up, I had no malicous intent, as you so imagine. Shakinglord (talk) 00:32, 21 May 2011 (UTC) Now that have the requisite information, I hereby withdraw my accusations. Shakinglord (talk) 00:46, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

He's not bullying, jeering, or insulting you. I suggest you retract those accusations. What he did do was point out that you're being inconsistent in what you are saying. People tend to pick up on that around here. You probably need to read this policy and this one really soon, because continuing to throw out accusations like this is likely to end up with you blocked from editing. You're probably going to interpret that as a threat; it's not. It is a simple statement of fact, no different than saying "If you continue to drive over the speed limit, you will get a ticket."
Please also learn how to indent your comments on talkpages. Placing a colon ( : ) at the beginning of a line indents it, one colon for one indent, two for a bigger indent, etc. This makes talkpages much easier to read.
Now, again: you were told before exactly what happened--that is, you were already provided with the requisite information--and provided with links to verify for yourself. And yet for some reason you ignored what you were told and decided you had to ask the exact same question in a different venue. Why? → ROUX  00:49, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

[redacted]What I meant to say is that BSZ was being very rude in "warning me". I retract the "accusations", if you could call them that, against BSZ as well. Shakinglord (talk) 01:01, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for retracting your statements, if you would be so kind as to actually strike them out, either by putting <s> and </s> to strike through your comments like this or use the Nono Template, which would redact [redacted]like this example, that would be very helpful. Dreadstar 01:40, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
BSZ was never rude to you, never insulted you, never jeered at you, was not juvenile or petty or any of the other adjectives you have used. Frankly, I've been ruder than he has--and trust me, for me, I have been the soul of diplomacy and tact with you. Perhaps I need to be a little more blunt: you need to remove your attacks against him or an admin will be blocking you. This isn't rude, this is simply, again, a statement of fact. You may also consider this an actual formal warning against future personal attacks.
Back to the original question: provided with the requisite information--and provided with links to verify for yourself. And yet for some reason you ignored what you were told and decided you had to ask the exact same question in a different venue. Why?
I'd like to point out, again, that continued refusal to answer a very simple and direct question is usually interpreted as avoiding it because the answer will not reflect well on you. or to be more blunt: usually, especially on Wikipedia, people refuse to answer simple and direct questions because they know that answering them truthfully will point out some pretty major flaws in their behaviour. I would like to believe this is not the case with you. → ROUX  01:45, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
  • I've taken care of striking out the problematic comments on AN that you retracted, and I've closed out the report as being meritless.[1] Please strike out the problematic statements here on your talk page as soon as you start editing again, and do not repeat this kind of behavior or you will be blocked. I agree with roux, BSZ was never rude to you, and was instead very polite and helpful in all of this. You were the rude one and should apologize to everyone concerned. Talkback

Hello, Shakinglord. You have new messages at Mtking's talk page.
Message added 22:47, 24 May 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I contested the PROD at List of 3D-enabled mobile phones. In concept at least it seems like a reasonable idea for a list. If you do choose to nominate it for a deletion discussion, would you be willing to provide a little more explanation as to why you think it should be deleted? Regards! VQuakr (talk) 00:11, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

It may end up to be a bit short right now, but I believe that it would make a good list. You seem to have changed my mind. Shakinglord (talk) 00:28, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Arizona

It was recently suggested that WikiProject Arizona, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semiactive and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 22:52, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps you could actually review things rather than tagging them unreviewed? Carlossuarez46 (talk) 22:30, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:PatrickMurphy(pilot).jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:PatrickMurphy(pilot).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 23:02, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I have declined this speedy because (once I had corrected the reference) it seems he really was PM of Peru, which is enough to pass A7 and in fact, per WP:POLITICIAN, is enough for notabiity. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 17:41, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:PatrickMurphy(pilot).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Errant (chat!) 09:53, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

I replied to your comment on my talk page yesterday explaining why you cannot simply take images off google for use in articles (because that is a copyright violation). But I never heard back - and you have edited since. So I have tagged the file as a copyvio - if you are able to correctly license the image then that would be great. --Errant (chat!) 09:55, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I was busy with a ton of other stuff. I thought the topic had been closed anyways. Shakinglord:Kudos, Mailbox, ??? 22:32, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion contested: Greg Call

Hello Shakinglord, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Greg Call, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Contains sufficient content to be a stub. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Baseball Watcher 22:21, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

List of animated feature films:1910s-1950s

I see you have again reverted my edit at List of animated feature films:1910s-1950s, so I'd appreciate, if you'd state your opinion here on why you think we should keep this duplicate of List of animated feature films. Thanks. (Lord Gøn (talk) 19:31, 28 September 2011 (UTC))

Re: List of animated feature films

Youre welcome. That article was a mess, glad to help you fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.167.12.107 (talk) 21:48, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

The article Patrick Murphy (pilot) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable individual. Info (possibly) better served on an article about the event (if deemed notable) or an article on the resulting song (if deemed notable).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ravendrop 04:45, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Short animated features lists

Before this will result in a major edit war, I propose discussing matters first. I invite you, again, to leave a comment at the talk-page of the animated features-list, to clarify your reasoning. What I'd like to know is why you think the pre-1940s page was bad enough to split it into several others, some of them containing only one or two entries? And after my revert you create a pre-1930s page with only three entries, which isn't really any better. If you may bother to take a look, the other film-lists combine several decades until output increases enough to warrant lists per decade. See e.g. here, here and here. And why do you insist on keeping the List of animated feature films:1910s-1950s even though it contains nothing that is not already included in the other lists? I've asked for your opinion on this before, but you didn't answer, so I hope you state your reasons this time. (Lord Gøn (talk) 23:45, 1 October 2011 (UTC))

Hmm, you seem to have made your point, and I have no option but to agree with you. Shakinglord:Kudos, Mailbox, ??? 23:47, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Are you talking about animated features on the Greta Garbo page? if so, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. I haven't touched the animated features part of her legacy. Thanks--Classicfilmbuff (talk) 21:02, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Shakinglord Acrhives, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Could be right - mine go to a user talk /Archive. Just checked in the history - the bot does its own creation of archives nested under year/month. You don't have to do anything except remember how to get at them. (See top of mine for a temporary solution. I might get around to putting a link to a subpage and list them all. CSD tagging

Hi, I notice you tag a lot of pages for CSD, please consider welcoming users with a welcome template when you notify them of a CSD tag. This can be accomplished by using WP:TWINKLE. Welcoming users helps to explain WP policies and helps avoid new users running into negative encounters with other editors. Thanks! Noformation Talk 01:53, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

I apologize, but I am not an admin and I have no access to special automated programs such as Twinkle. However, I will still try to add the welcome wagon tag. Salut! Olaf the Shakinglord: Mailbox, ??? 01:56, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
Hi again, I'm glad to be the bearer of good news because I think your career at WP is about to get a whole lot easier :). You don't need to be an admin to use Twinkle, if you're using the normal WP skin then twinkle is located right next to the search box in the upper right section of your browser. I'm not sure where it is on older skins, but let me know if you can't find it and I'll try to help out. It's a drop down menu that says "TW." If it's not there, you might have to activate it by going to My Preferences and then to Gadgets. It's pretty easy to figure out after that. Noformation Talk 03:30, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Stubs

You contributed to a recent discussion about an editor who was creating many stubs. The conclusion was that this was just a case of a prolific editor, with no violation of policy. There remains a question about whether very small stubs are useful, regardless of how they are created. You may want to contribute to the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Stub/Archive 15#Minimum size. Shakinglord, would you mind removing those three article links from your signature? I can't see anything in WP:SIG that allows it, and I don't see the use for it. What I do see is some confusing flipping back and forth when my cursor floats over those question marks. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 03:12, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Ok, it's been changed, sorry for any inconvinence. I just wonder how other users modify thier signatures to look so impressive. Olaf the Shakinglord: Mailbox 15:39, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

The article Wes Gullet has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced. Non notable unelected local official. Fails to meet criteria at WP:POLITICIAN and WP:BLP

Derwent College

I noticed your warning placed on my talk page and though I'd clear up the confusion. Neil is not a former chair of Derwent College, he is a current student. I know this as I am also a Derwent College student. Not sure if it counts as original research, but I know this for a fact and have thus removed his name from the list. 94.195.251.61 (talk) 17:07, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

I will have to take this to the Administrator's noticeboard for approval. Olaf the Shakinglord: Mailbox 17:11, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
So you took it there, they said he should be removed from the list. So you put him back!? I have now removed him again. 94.195.251.61 (talk) 17:32, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
They meant your removal. Olaf the Shakinglord: Mailbox 18:28, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Wes Gullet requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. George Ponderevo (talk) 17:46, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

October 1962

Hi. This page does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion. It does not duplicate an existing topic, and it is one of a series of articles (January 1962, etc). Deb (talk) 21:06, 3 November 2011 (UTC)
