Image copyright tags[edit]

You are using incorrect image copyright tags. The images File:Gauri Ma.jpg, File:Yogin Ma.jpg, File:Nivedita.jpg all come under public domain, because they were taken prior 1923 or so. Putting together a draft, and adding refernces as you go along it a very accepted practice, however it should not be done in main space. Check out the Article Wizard for an easy way to start as a user subpage.

While creating articles try to give the most appropriate name. You have given unnecessary long names to most of your articles. I have shortened the article name of Durga Charan Nag. Avoiding copyright problems[edit]

I was asked as an administrator to evaluate the article Gauri Ma for concerns related to our copyright policies. My investigation disclosed considerable content copied from other publications. A good bit of this seems to have been placed by you. (You can see some specifics at Talk:Gauri Ma.)

While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. I have located several other articles that include content that is very closely paraphrased from its sources in parts. Please be very careful going forward to follow these policies and practices in adding content.
