Citation for lowercasing dawn/Dawn Landes' first name?[edit]

Please see Talk:Dawn_Landes#Lowercases_first_name.3F -- I noticed that you've changed her first name to lower-case, saying "dawn lowercases her first name," but providing no citation for that assertion. Can you provide a citation for use dawn instead of Dawn? Her website (http://www.dawnlandes.com/) and her label's website (http://westernvinyl.com/artists/dawnlandes.html) both appear to think she capitalizes her first name. Rickterp (talk) 22:43, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Sure, but those are megacorps abusing dawn, not knowing any bettah. I will get on it after I come back from a dinner long overdue me. peas. --Mareklug talk 02:05, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
PS. YOU know, Google is your friend. Why don't you axe it the question in kwestion, something like "Why does dawn Landes lowercase her name", etc. http://gogoindierocket.wordpress.com/2007/04/10/tube-dawn-landes-and-the-wst-bluegrass-band-young-folks/ --Mareklug talk 02:08, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
I already tried Googling "dawn landes lowercase" and got nothing (in contrast, try "bell hooks lowercase" or "k d lang lowercase"), that's why I'm asked you directly about it. I dearly wish Google would allow for case-sensitive searching, but no dice. Rickterp (talk) 21:45, 25 April 2014 (UTC)
  1. One more from 2007. http://5acts.com/?p=804 --Mareklug talk 07:19, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
  2. Her own (!) current (!) MySpace page. https://myspace.com/dawnlandes -- note the title of the page, as shown in the window title. --Mareklug talk 07:21, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
  3. cover art and Composer credits on every song of her album "Fireproof", as prepared by her herself: https://myspace.com/dawnlandes/music/album/fireproof-18796504, not some frigging dumbfuck marketeer or label or promoter or whoever. Are we done yet? --Mareklug talk 07:25, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Your evidence seems to be links from 2007, liner notes from a 2008 album, and her MySpace page. Aside from the MySpace page (which I would counter with her very current website - http://www.dawnlandes.com/, where she is Dawn throughout). Have you looked at the liner notes from Bluebird? The cover has her name in all caps, but the liner notes have her as Dawn in the musician, producer, and writer credits -- this is her latest album, 2014, not 2007 or 2008. I assume the liner notes and her website are all errors made by people who don't know what dawn wants. Clearly, you're not convincing me and I'm not convincing you -- the references you cite look old to me and the references I cite are just errors made by stupid people who don't know she's really dawn. I suggest a third opinion. Cheers. Rickterp (talk) 13:22, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Thatsounds about right. But rather than having a single third user arbitrate it, I would like it to be settled in a wider arena, the BLP Noticeboard, if it's ok with you. --Mareklug talk 18:12, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Génesis Carmona[edit]

Ambox warning yellow.svg

The article Génesis Carmona has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:BLP1E: person is notable only for dying the way she did. Being a winner of an event in a regional beauty contest does not make one notable by our standards.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Drmies (talk) 02:07, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

I have a feeling you are stalking me. Are you? You seem hell-bent on deleting all my contributions to English Wikipedia that you can make a specious argument for deleting. Sorry to say, I feel beleaguered by your attention. Both Agnieszka's Dowry (after its recent fix-up and re-sourcing) and this BLP (the world cultural significance, as documented by worldwide front-page coverage) are notable, well-sourced, well-written, complete articles of Wikipedia, certainly not its dreck that you seem oblivious to in your deletionist efforts, and your efforts to prove otherwise are just driving a huge personal rift between me and you, and I think that is most regrettable, as we have common aims to improve WMF projects, I would imagine. --Mareklug talk 07:31, 21 February 2014 (UTC)

Only because of you -- and you alone -- my idea worked out and was a great success, whatever it was, some junk or whatever. I couldn't figure out whether to go with Brilliant Idea (for knowing how to use google) or Photographer's (for your photographic memory on how to use google) or Teamwork (for both of us using google) or Editor's (for copywriting up "hey this is what I found on google, dummy, so give me a barnstar") or No Spam (because you didn't send me any spam; you sent me google results) or Diligence (because you really worked google after knowing I had failed) or Surreal (because you're really, really, weird). But thanks so much for tirelessly typing some words into google for me. <3 <3 <3 — Smuckola (Email) (Talk) 08:34, 17 June 2014 (UTC)
Or whatever, I dunno, coz I just appointed myself as Yeoman Editor Level III, so I got better things to do now. I've got responsibilities. — Smuckola (Email) (Talk) 08:36, 17 June 2014 (UTC)

Edit War Warning[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Mac Pro shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Mike VTalk 19:35, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
