Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, but at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Kerala, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted (undone) by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Malaysian Malayalees moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Malaysian Malayalees, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Your draft article, Draft:Malaysian Malayalees[edit]

Hello, Naveen Ramanathan. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Malaysian Malayalees".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Notice

The file File:Distribution of Malayalam speakers around the World.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Naveen Ramanathan, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ~ Amkgp 13:47, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Malayalam, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Recent edit reversion[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 12:44, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:29, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. I have given the proper citation for the latest number of adherents of Hinduism as it is given in the Hinduism article. Same goes to the endonym of Hinduism that is Sanatana Dharma. This is not about sourcing, but about paying attention to WP:DUE weight. You need to review the WP:NPOV policy mentioned above. It is not an easy policy to understand. Edit warring[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions at Hindus. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 14:52, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia[edit]

Smile emoji Hi Naveen Ramanathan! Thank you for your edits to Hinduism and other religions. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Buddhism and Hinduism into that page, and while you are welcome to do so, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 21:04, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

July 2021[edit]

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing from certain pages (Conversion of non-Hindu places of worship into temples) for a period of 1 week for needing to stop fighting and discuss on talk like the good person you know you are.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   --Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:34, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

‎Disruptive editing[edit]

I have undid your BLP violations. Are you Capitals00 or Aman.kumar.goel with another username? Anyway, doesn't matter to me but you have been blocked for a week for your "‎disruptive editing" so I guess you should be more careful next time before making disruptions again. FYI, this matter has already been discussed in the Administrator's noticeboard and you cannot put unverified claims. If you think a name should be included and you have proper reference then add it to the article's talk page first like I did. You may consult other admins or User:Toddy1 for more clarifications. --Bringtar (talk) 05:59, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you think a name should be included and you have proper reference then add it to the article's talk page first like I did. Looks more like you are actually using Wikipedia in multiple user names because I couldn't see any "discussions" made in the Talk Page under your current name. I'd like to repeat, if you think a name should be excluded then add it to the article's talk page first rather than making a disruptive editing without any prior discussion as you please. Secondly, I wasn't blocked from making any future edits as you claim. By the way, this is my one and only user name and stop accusing me of sock puppetry. Hence, I guess you should be more careful next time before making disruptive editing and baseless allegations on other users again. And please clarify on which is Hindutva websites and which is not? Looks more like you are accusing any websites which gives away facts those are against your opinions as Hindutva websites and vice versa. --Naveen Ramanathan

It is funny that you strikeout my comment and yet replying to it! Indeed you were partially blocked and I suggest you again to please stop disrupting editing. If you have problem, discuss on the article's talk page. If you think the source is reliable then ask at WP:RSN first. These are the guidelines. --Bringtar (talk) 15:13, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is also funny how you strikethrough my comment in your talkpage and yet replied to it but making it an issue when people do the same! Have some basic shame! And it is also funny how you turned the table from blocked for a week to partially blocked when the whole blocking story is nothing but a myth and blunder by one and only you. Are you hallucinating? Perhaps, you will be blocked and I suggest you again to please stop disrupt editing. If you have problem, discuss on the article's talk page. If you think the source is not reliable then ask at WP:RSN first. These are the guidelines. Naveen Ramanathan (talk) 15:45, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I did not notice at first that you were partially blocked. I have been receiving similar messages from pro-Hindu editors so I strikeout your comment because your edit was unjustified. If you introduce a source to Wikipedia then it is your duty to perform a check at WP:RSN for reliability not me. Do you think you can add any unreliable links and I have to clean your mess? I am suggesting you again to read the relevant guidelines or ask the other admins who are involved in this particular case. Bringtar (talk) 15:54, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Do you think you can add any unreliable links and I have to clean your mess?" And you please show me when I added "unreliable links" before putting forth a baseless allegation on me. And you please stop claiming as if Wikipedia is running solely because of you! Nobody is begging you to clean anybody's mess here. You can always choose to get lost and nobody will cry for you! Naveen Ramanathan (talk) 16:03, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is a collaborative project, not your facebook page where you can write anything. I will have to report you, if you continue your disrupting editing. I have left a message on the talk page[2] mentioning the violations you made. Please message there. Bringtar (talk) 16:19, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You will have to report me but but I have already reported you for your misdeeds. What is disrupting editing? Who will use such an English? Go back to preschool kid! Wikipedia is a collaborative project, not your facebook page where you can write anything. This applies to you too! Naveen Ramanathan (talk) 17:32, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You were claiming that you've reported me and I have been blocked! How in this world someone blocks a blocked person? You and your funny allegations! Cute! Naveen Ramanathan (talk) 17:36, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Urgent[edit]

Namaste & Vanakkam

Some anti-hindu and foolish dravidian ideological accounts are ediiting all articles related to Tamil literature, south Indian philosophy, literature, gods, festivels, temples and cultural practices as "Tamil" instead of "Hindu". Atleast Dravidian hindu could be right term.

It is basically funny and foolish act. Hinduism includes cluster of all practices - shaivasim, vainavism, saktism, jainism, bhuddism, philosophies, both Tamil & Sanskrit liturical works. I don't know what is wrong with those persons. Please keep an eye over all such articles espically Sangam Literature, Pongal festivel, goddesses, etc... Highlight it as Tamil language or South Indian but make sure Hinduism also..

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Agni Sūktam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.shastras.com/vedic-hymns/agni-suktam/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. August 2021( please read )[edit]

Hi, I've seen that you have edited many articles on Hinduism. I just wanted to let you know about the article "Onam" that you have been editing until recently, Onam is a Hindu festival celebrated in Kerala, India(citations given). But recently it's being changed back and forth, although proper citations are given, non existent terms like "Indian mythology" have been added especiallyby a user called "sibin m". Onam is celebrated religiously by majority of Hindus and culturally by many non Hindus(this aspect has been added multiple times in the article), however, the keywords "Hindu,Hinduism" has been edited out from multiple sentences of the article which made the article very misleading. Whoever edited the article has a clear dislike towards anything related to Hinduism that he/she edited out every single reference of Onam being a Hindu festival, according to the one who edited "onam isn't a Hindu festival ", which is completely baseless and just outright wrong. Could you please look into it and can you please do something about it? Thank you!! Jai Bhavani(Hail the Goddess) (talk) 04:33, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for notifying! Will look through it! Naveen Ramanathan (talk) 07:09, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for responding, I've also noted that a user named "trengabellam" has edited out almost every Citation that was given earlier in the article "onam", the same user is notorious for making such edits before too in other articles, for example, "trengabellam" edited and changed almost every section of an article called "religion of Indus valley civilization", the user trengabellam's bias is clearly visible through his/her/their disruptive editing history. The user changes and edits contents of Wikipedia without talking about it in the talk page, and he/she/they edit the articles according to his/her/their narrative and perspective, if you know some administrators, please let them know about this. Many articles should be revised in order to get it back to its unbiased form. Jai Bhavani(Hail the Goddess) (talk) 13:31, 13 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agni Sūktam moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Agni Sūktam, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
