List of programs broadcast by DD National

Hello, I noticed you've removed a few shows from List of programs broadcast by DD National. While I agree the list is unsourced, probably all of it should go and so on, I'm wondering what was the reason behind this selective removal? Hello, Shreevatsa, this is Survir. The reason I removed those shows is because I will create a seperate page for off-network syndicated shows that aired & still airing on DD National channel. This is just to save some space in the page. Besides, as you may have noticed that I have cleaned up the DD National page to wikify it as well as to keep it up to date. I have fixed majority of the errors in the titles of series that were misspelled, and it will be nice if you could help too... I apologise if you have felt bad... Hi Survir, thanks for your efforts at that page and at other TV shows. I would like to help too, but I'm afraid I don't know or remember much... My concern was just that removing all these syndicated shows from the list gives a wrong impression of what has historically been broadcast on DD. On a different topic: it would be useful to order these shows by date broadcast, or at least add information about dates to the article... do you know if it's possible to find that information? I guess, but some of these shows are very old and there is hardly any information about them on the internet. The reason I added three columns to the list is so all the titles can fit into the screen, and if we add/move any shows to the former shows list, we can always balance the columns by moving couple of shows up/down in the first two columns list. So can you please change back the format. Besides, if anybody ever feels like creating any of the pages, they can just open the links, but for one person it is very tough job! I don't understand. Do you want two columns, three columns, four columns, columns of a fixed width, or something else? All of these can be done automatically with {{colbegin}} instead of having to manually decide how many should be in each column (and getting it wrong). It used to be in three columns in a manual table with width=50. I changed it to three columns automatically (which takes up exactly the same amount of vertical space) and you changed it back saying you want to save space (even though there was no change), so I changed it to four columns. I personally think three evenly spaced columns looked best (the second link above)...

As for sources, if we could find sources in books (doesn't have to be on the internet), that would be good too. But I agree it's probably hard to find, and no one is likely to challenge the list so it's okay. :-)

Hello Shreevatsa, I know what you are talking about balancing columns automatically using {{colbegin}}, however, this template is still being developed and does not generates multi-columns automatically on all the browsers (especially the most common, Internet Explorer), unless you have Mozilla Firefox or Safari. The reason I wasn't seeing the columns, 'cuz I have Internet Explorer and it shows only a long list. But, after downloading the Mozilla Firefox browser I am able to see four columns. I believe a lot of people use Internet Explorer & they probably see a long list just as me. So, it will be better if the columns are divided up manually so everyone can see; but, don't worry, however you like! No offense! We'll keep in touch. Survir (talk) 17:29, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Hello, I'm very sorry... I didn't realise that automatically breaking columns does not work on Internet Explorer; that's sad. You're right, a lot of people use Internet Explorer. Hello Werieth, first of all, thank you for the feedback, now my question is that all these images that were uploaded on Sahara One page are past logos of the channel used under the History section and they do contain fair-use rationale. Now the only thing is that most of the times, Wikipedia does prohibit from uploading the images in gallery format, so do you recommend adding appropriate references to them or split them and expand history section, what do you recommend? The next time you revert I will seek your block. NFC is not something that can be ignored. The files need to stay removed until they meet WP:NFC the article cannot support that many non-free files. Per policy we must keep the usage of said files to a minimum and that those files must meet WP:NFCC#8 something that I doubt can ever be met with in the case of these files.
