AN request

Welcome to complex vandal-fighting, fun inn't? You listed contrib pages for the IPs you found, but you didn't show specific diffs for what they were doing wrong or otherwise show that those edits were net-balance-negative. How is anyone else supposed to jump in and help when you haven't given even one example of a specific problem? As far as a range-block goes, that's where you have to do the hard work of going through that CIDR-range review, so that you can show what collateral damage may or may not occur if all those 65,000 addresses are blocked. It looks to me like you've found something, but I still can't tell how bad it is, or what exactly you are saying is a problem. Can you add some detail at the AN thread? You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using (This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! –pjoef (talkcontribs) 14:33, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

For assistance in adding missing C-SPAN related links to relevant External links sections.

Hi there Yaksar, I apologize for the delay, but I saw your note on my page about having added those C-SPAN ELs. Because you've added at least 10, if you live in the U.S. you're eligible for one of the C-SPAN hats. Let me know if you are, and I can be reached via e-mail if you don't want to disclose your contact information on Talk pages. And no matter what, you are eligible for the C-SPAN award, which I've attached here. Cheers, WWB Too (talk) 18:11, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

Your HighBeam account is ready!

Good news! You now have access to 80 million articles in 6500 publications through HighBeam Research. Here's what you need to know:

  • Your account activation code has been emailed to your Wikipedia email address.
    • Only 407 of 444 codes were successfully delivered; most failed because email was simply not set up (You can set it in Special:Preferences).
    • If you did not receive a code but were on the approved list, add your name to this section and we'll try again.
  • The 1-year, free period begins when you enter the code.
  • To activate your account: 1) Go to http://www.highbeam.com/prof1; 2) You’ll see the first page of a two-page registration. 3) Put in an email address and set up a password. (Use a different email address if you signed up for a free trial previously); 4) Click “Continue” to reach the second page of registration; 5) Input your basic information; 6) Input the activation code; 7) Click “Finish”. Note that the activation codes are one-time use only and are case-sensitive.
  • If you need assistance, email "help at highbeam dot com", and include "HighBeam/Wikipedia" in the subject line. Or go to WP:HighBeam/Support, or ask User:Ocaasi. Please, per HighBeam's request, do not call the toll-free number for assistance with registration.
  • A quick reminder about using the account: 1) try it out; 2) provide original citation information, in addition to linking to a HighBeam article; 3) avoid bare links to non-free HighBeam pages; 4) note "(subscription required)" in the citation, where appropriate
  • HighBeam would love to hear feedback at WP:HighBeam/Experiences
  • Show off your HighBeam access by placing {{User:Ocaasi/highbeam_userbox}} on your userpage
  • When the 1-year period is up, check applications page to see if renewal is possible. We hope it will be.

Thanks for helping make Wikipedia better. Enjoy your research! Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 21:07, 13 April 2012 (UTC)

Even when edits like this may be considered a MOS violation, s/he is matching it the article's style "The album spent 15 weeks", "accomplished in 15 years by a", "album contains 13 of their biggest", etc. That time s/he was reported due to his/her edits changed the whole page's style. So, technically, the editing is not a MOS violation. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 16:52, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Hey there, I would like to know what you think of the expansion that I have done at the John Marquez article, I keep finding more and more sources for items completely unrelated to trivial election mentions and enough for multiple sentence sourced statements about several more issues.LuciferWildCat (talk) 05:46, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Please don't delete Brown Sugar a cappella page

I know there are not as many independent and reliable sources as they could be, but I'm not that familiar with how to use Wikipedia to code them in correctly. If someone else on the Wikipedia team could use a search engine to find some reliable information about it (such as our website or Northwestern campus publications), please do so! But I think this page is valuable and shouldn't be deleted...

Thank you,
