Hi 842U,

I am not sure if this is the best way to contact you, but I am new to navigating this part of wikipedia. I want to ask for your permission to reproduce the image you contributed for the entry on the Ha-ha Wall. The reproduction is for a piece of academic writing where the wall is an analogy for the different perceptions of a problem by a teacher and a pupil. I have modified the image slightly to increase the distance between the figure and the wall to more effectively impress the idea that the obstruction is not visible from their perspective (further irritating and alienating the pupil in my analogy). If you consent then I would also ask how you would like to be credited in my references.

Cheers, Will

Barnstar

Well I know how tempting it can be to just walk away from an argument, especially one against a stubborn mule -- and sometimes walking away is the right thing to do, but I think the MoS over-reactions in this case merited your continued arguing and hopefully common sense will prevail in the end. So thanks, "on behalf of the project", for not taking the easy way out. Sherurcij (speaker for the dead) 00:19, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:13, 18 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

VERY nicely done. I have no argument with that inclusion. It's short, to the point, and proves it's notability. The sponsorships were a good deletion, as well.

Thank you. Now let's see if it sticks. Regards, --Manway 14:22, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanx

Hey, thanx for the ‘I Am’ and ‘Art Of Racing In The Rain’ pages, it’s good to see them there.

I also see from his 'talk' page with the Honda Super Cub you've had the same probs with the user Dennis Bratland (talk) that other people have had with him only thinking that own his edits are any good and no-one else's are - talk about ownership issues.

and i notice he's doing it again here – BMW R1100GS (BMW R1100GS) - so maybe for the good of Wikipedia we should contribute to this noticeboard discussion. It seems to me he's in the wrong yet again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.254.173.13 (talk) 10:31, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Morris Levy

Do you have a source for the edit where you added Cynthia Brooks as a wife of Morris Levy? Or that he divorced her in 1961? 842U (talk) 12:21, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There are a couple of citations in the article and there are dozens digitally searchable references to Cynthia Brooks (born approximately 1933) marrying and divorcing Morris Levy. But the sources are syndicated columnists, not primary documents, such as marriage license or divorce court indices. One article pre-announced their impending marriage to take place on 15 September 1957 aboard Morris' yacht, off of Long Island;1 another article stated that Brooks divorced William Dougherty (club owner of Chicago) to marry Levy;4 another article announced the filing for divorce in April 1959; yet another announced them dating again in 1960.2 There's also a 1957 article saying that Levy denied the rumor of his impending marriage to Brooks.3
Before marrying Levy, Brooks had married and divorced Rudi Maugeri (né Rudolph V Maugeri; born 1931) (vocalist with The Crew-Cuts). They had met in Vegas and married in Chicago. Brooks worked as a chorus girl at the El Rancho Vegas. She also was under contract at 20th Century Fox, appearing in Follow the Sun (1951) and Westward Ho, The Women (1952).
Published gossip columns state that Brooks, in 1958 and 1959, dated Joe E. Lewis and Lance Reventlow.
Brooks appeared in several pinup mags, including Show (January 1956) and Bold (August 1956; back cover); and a few mainstream mags, particularly Life (Every Man's Miss Brooks, March 1957, pg. 51 — photographer: Peter Stackpole).
I have not done much work on Levy. Give me some time to do some digging. — Eurodog (talk) 23:21, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
