This is Wikipedia's page for requesting articles about companies, businesses, and organizations. If you want to request a new article, this is the right place to start.

Requestors

Please remember, Wikipedia is not a place for advertisements. Blatant advertisements and copyright infringement are candidates for speedy deletion.

Before requesting an article, it is strongly recommended that you:

  • Check whether the business/organization would be considered notable as per Wikipedia's guidelines (WP:CORP - in short, a business or organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources).
  • Check whether an article already exists for the business/organization by entering its name in the search box. Be sure to try all potential name variations and double-check your spelling and capitalization.
  • Check the archive for this page to see if a request was previously made & rejected
  • Consider if you can start a stub article yourself (although if you have a close association with the subject of the article, be sure to review WP:COI and WP:BFAQ first)

If you want to do more than just request an article and would like to discuss and plan its creation go to the drawing board.

Note that it currently can take a long time for requests to be reviewed & articles created. You can help reduce that time by providing links to information from reliable sources that could be used to create the article.

Wikipedia editors

Your help is needed to review these requests and, where appropriate, create informative articles!

If creating an article please:

  • tag short articles as stubs. (To do so, add {{stub}} or a more specific tag to the bottom of the article.)
  • Add appropriate WikiProject banners, so that other specialist editors can assist in expanding the article
    • Companies - {{WikiProject Companies}}
    • Other Organizations - {{WikiProject Organizations}}
    • Other Business-related articles (Brand names etc.) - {{Business}}

Once you have reviewed a company for article creation please move it, with comments, to the archive.

Cmmt If it's well-referenced and notable then it won't be deleted; or you can post good secondary sources here and someone will make a better page. --AndrewHowse (talk) 16:31, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
