Ron Bennington and Fez "Marie" Whatley are a talk radio duo who host The Ron and Fez Show.

With a background as professional comedians known for their sharp minds and lightning fast delivery, over their almost twenty year career in talk radio, the Ron and Fez show has evolved and grown, from market to audience to timeslot.

The show is currently on hiatus until September 12, 2005 when they move their show to XM Satellite Radio Channel 202: High Voltage, airing from 11am until 2pm ET, with encores airing from 7pm-10pm and 2am-5am ET.

Florida (1986-2000)

Fez Whatley grew up in the Tampa suburbs, and for almost 15 years it was home to Ron Bennington, a transplant from Philadelphia, PA. Appropriately, this location became the testing ground for both Ron and Fez's blooming broadcasting careers.

On July 7, 2004, while Ron and Fez were still on terestrial radio, they briefly returned to the Tampa airwaves when "The Ron and Fez Show" was syndicated from Washington D.C. for a six month stint.

The Ron and Ron Show (1986-1997)

In the mid-1980s, stand up comedian, Ron Bennington joined Ron Diaz in creating the hugely popular, and raunchy, morning radio show "The Ron and Ron Show." The show eventually was syndicated all over the southeastern United States, and became a launching pad for show regulars like Gary Spivy, The Curtain Boy (comedian Warren Durso) and Larry The Cable Guy. Producer Fez Whatley and regular guest Paul O. all took advantages of on-air opportunities and became popular and more prominant show personalities.

For a brief period of time, Fez hosted a second show - "Hooters On The Radio" - with Hooters girls. It was during this time that he also developed the very popular "Nature Boy" character, as a tribute to the wrestler Ric Flair. "The Ron & Ron Radio Network" made national headlines when, during the height of the success of "Miami Vice," Ron and Ron got into a verbal screaming match with actor Don Johnson. This segment is often repeated and aired on television biographies on Johnson, to illustrate his lowest point when battling alcohol addiction. Eventually, Diaz left the show, and on September 29, 1997, after an eleven year run and after several replacement hosts failed to gel with Bennington, "The Ron and Ron Show" was officially cancelled.

"Let The Puppies Breathe"

In the early 1990s, to meet the needs of their fans, the Ron and Ron Show produced CDs and videotapes with show highlights and specially produced material. While their two videos, "Pup Friction" and "Let The Puppies Breathe" included footage from the show and original bits in between segments, much like the popular "Girls Gone Wild" video series or Opie and Anthony's "WOW" promotion, both of which they predated, the underlying request behind the phrase "Let the Puppies Breathe" was to encourage women to expose their bare breasts, which was featured on both tapes.

While in Florida, Ron and Fez hosted several commedy shows that were very racy, explicit and very adult in nature. These included:

In addition, in the late 1990s, Ron and Fez hosted one of the country's first adult dodge ball matches in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The Disciples of Comedy

In the mid-1990s Ron Bennington, Fez Whatley, Jimmy Shubert, Mitchell Walters, Carl LaBove and Warren Durso were some of the comedians who toured the southeast of the United States as "Ron Bennington's Disciples of Comedy." Several of them had previously been part of the late Sam Kinison's comedy posse - "Sam Kinison's Outlaws of Comedy." In addition, Ron owned Ron Bennington's Comedy Scene, a comedy club in Clearwater, Florida, where he is credited by actor and funnyman Jim Breuer for helping discover him.

WKRO-FM (1998-2000)

On August 24, 1998 "The Ron and Fez Show" debuted on Daytona Beach's WKRO in the mornings. A few months earlier, On May 22, 1998, Real Radio 104.1 in Orlando's midday show, and friends of Ron and Ron, The Monsters of the Midday (today known as The Monsters of the Morning), gathered together many of the regulars from the cancelled "Ron and Ron Show" in for a reunion - Ron Bennington, Fez Whatley, Billy the Phone Freak, Paul O. and Mitchell Walters. After explaining their side in the the split with Ron Diaz, Ron and Fez announced they were getting back into radio.

Using the formula they had created in Tampa, they rebuilt the show and recruited new employees, interns and characters. They were on the WKRO for about a year and a half until they were hired by Infinity Broadcasting and moved to New York.

WNEW-FM (2000-2003)

Ron and Fez's new show in New York City debuted on February 21, 2000, one week earlier than had been originally planned. During this time, they reworked and improved their show, and through the help of their popular lead-in ("The Opie and Anthony Show") they discovered a receptive and excited fan base of listeners. Ron and Fez also made a conscious decision at this time to evolve the tone of their new show away from their "shock jock" roots as a way to balance out WNEW's line-up.

When WNEW-FM in New York switched to an all-talk format in 1999, after years of being known and respected as a rock station, the "masthead show" became the afternoon drive team of Opie and Anthony. Ron and Fez were signed to host an overnight talk show named "Ron and Fez Dot Com," which started on February 21, 2000 and was broadcast from 11PM - 3AM. The show's original premise was two comedians discussing the internet into the wee hours of the morning. Ron and Fez were eventually moved to the early afternoon hours (12:00-3:00 p.m.) and later to the evening hours (7:00-11:00 p.m.), where buoyed by Opie and Anthony's lead-in ratings, Ron and Fez began to enjoy success.

During this period, several memorable characters joined their on-air staff, including their mostly-silent producer Hawk, Tasteless Ginny, and the call-in prankster Joe Poo. The show's web-based premise led to the founding of several sites devoted to the show, including RFBabies.com (once a haven for the show's cadre of young female fans), and the unoffical website for the show ronfez.net . Though the "Dot Com" was dropped from the show's title soon after their debut, Ron and Fez have since inspired an enormous cult-like following on the Internet.

Big ASS Cards

Helping to foster the sense of community between themselves and their listeners, Ron and Fez came up with the "Big ASS Card" for any of their fans that wanted to be part of their "secret society". Aside from giving the recipient discounts at sponsors' establishments, the "Big ASS Card" also gave an identity in relation to the show. Everytime a Big ASS card holder would call in and give their card number, a recording of Al Pacino yelling "Who-AH!" would be played. Years later, even after they discontinued the promotion, listeners still call in announcing their "B.A.C." number.

September 11th Attacks

For many listeners, Ron and Fez showed their true colors during the tumultuous weeks following the September 11th attacks. On the evening of September 11, the team stayed in the on the air taking calls from distressed listeners, some of whom were still unsure whether loved ones inside the Twin Towers were alive. Ron and Fez expressed heartfelt sympathy and related the feelings many New Yorkers wanted to express. Throughout this tough time, Ron and Fez staged several "bar crawls" and other events under the motto "New York Forever", designed to get their listeners to come into New York and support restaurants and bars in lower Manhattan. One of the more memorable crawls, from the turnout and hilarious drama that followed from it, was the 2001 Halloween Bar Crawl.

Big Ass Promotions

Because of Ron and Fez's timeslot and the fervor of their fans, the New York version of the show had several highly successful and memorable promotions in 2002. These included:

• Big Ass Night of Fights I (February, 2002) - The Big Ass Night of Fights featured the boxing matches of Perrynoid vs. Billy Staples, Tuttle vs. Too Cute and Lobster Claws, and Mikey D vs. Jesse Grubman (roommate of producer Rory Hamptons). The main event was Al Dukes vs. Joe Poo. The gathering also included appearances by the Nature Boy and Retard Martin, and live moan by Sweet Melissa, Crazy Clare cutting the clothes off of French Bread Pizza, and Paul O. in a "sucky bed".

• The Cruel Circus - (April, 2002) A live broadcast in the basement of Karavas Place, a Greek restaurant in the middle of Greenwich Village in New York City. Featured some of the Ron and Fez girls dancing in cages.

• Big Ass Night of Fights II - (May, 2002) As the second incarnation of the Big Ass Night of Fights, boxing matches included Hard Rock Johnny vs. Casper, GVac vs. Matty Fridays, Billy Staples in a Diggstown Challenge, a father and son bout, and the main event of Al Dukes vs. Black Earl, with Al's actual masters degree diploma on the line.

• The Ron and Fez-tival of Rock and Ribs (August, 2002) - The Ron and Fez-tival of Rock and Ribs was a "battle of the bands" between local bands (Monty Love was the winner). The festival also included a rib eating contest. Part of the drama from this event featured the freshly cancelled Anthony Cumia being denied entry by WNEW and Hard Rock Cafe staffers.

• Big Ass Night of Frights (October, 2002) - The Big Ass Night of Frights was a Halloween party which included listener "Nurse Mira" in body paint and Billy Staples getting "chicken parmed". (See below) Anthony Cumia made a surprise appearance. Brother Joe's old U2 tribute band, "Joshua Tree", headlined the party.

In addition, Ron and Fez gathered with listeners every Tuesday night after the show held court at a bar/club in New York called "Bar 9." The house band that played was usually fronted by "Brother Joe," brother of Anthony Cumia of the Opie and Anthony Show, and "Laird", former frontman of Brother Joe's old U2 tribute band, "Joshua Tree".

AFRO Shows

Ron and Fez shared amicable relationships with all of WNEW's other programs, particularly Opie and Anthony. O&A, as they are often known, would sometimes sit in on the Ron and Fez show, leading to what became known as "AFRO Shows" (AFRO standing for Anthony Fez Ron Opie).

Demise of WNEW

Ron and Fez's motley cast of characters grew as the show entered 2002; Billy "Staples" Hine, their phone screener and producer, became more of an on-air personality, often confronting his problems of substance addiction, and Al Dukes, their producer, became the butt of many jokes, often ridiculed for his strange habits and perceived managerial ineffectiveness. As the show developed over spring 2002, Ron and Fez began to earn increasingly higher ratings.

After Ron and Fez's increasing popularity throughout the summer of 2002, the Opie and Anthony show was cancelled. After losing what was considered its flagship show, it seemed certain that WNEW would shift from its all-talk format. Still, Ron and Fez remained in their time slot for another five months until WNEW's format "flipped" in January 27, 2003 and Ron and Fez moved to sister station WJFK-FM in Washington, D.C.

WJFK-FM (2000-2005)

Jeremy Coleman, the PD from New York's WNEW in 2000, had become aware of Ron and Fez when he was still a program director for WJFK-FM, the sister talk station in Washington D.C. he helped put on the map. He had intended to bring them to DC, but he soon became PD of WNEW. One month later, however, on March 27, 2000 Ron and Fez began tape delay syndication in DC where they found a small, but loyal, group of listeners during the early hours of the morning. Finally, in November 2002, WJFK's evening radio show, The Sports Junkies relocated to WHFS, opening up a timeslot for Ron and Fez to syndicate their show live in Washington, D.C. (7p.m. - 11 p.m.), following The Don and Mike Show.

Relocation To Washington D.C.

After WNEW changed formats in early 2003, Ron and Fez began broadcasting their show on WJFK. Although only heard in Washington DC, Ron and Fez chose to remain in New York until June 2003, when they finally relocated to the WJFK studios in Virginia. Over the course of the next year, several memorable characters, listeners and staff helped give this era its own identity. While the WNEW show had been heavily influenced by a dedicated, and funny, core group of callers, WJFK proved to be fertile ground for unique regulars who came on the show, each bringing a different level of compulsion and humor to the show. Perrynoid, Cherrynoid, David Lee Kinison (aka: Elfish), Cigar Sid, Bobo Golem and Crazy Jen became call-in and studio regulars.

Known for being team players, Ron and Fez worked on split shifts, did drop-ins for WJFK's Redskins broadcasts, did live commercials and appearances, helped mentor the hosts of a weekend show, The Hideout, and develop a positive relationship with Don and Mike, their lead-in show. This, along with improved calls, fresh and funny game shows and bits, a community that needed a good laugh during the 2004 election and a sense of momentum propelled Ron and Fez to a stellar ratings book in January 2005.

The Fastest Hour In Radio

In mid 2003, after being on WJFK (and Washington) exclusively for just a few months, Ron and Fez agreed to host a one hour mid-day show entitled "The Fastest Hour in Radio", between Howard Stern, and conservative talker Bill O'Reilly. This timeslot would be in addition to their evening duties, and would not be caller driven. Instead, they relied on themselves, and a brisk and humorous discussion of the day's headlines. When the nighttime show became syndicated in Baltimore, Maryland and Tampa, Florida in the summer of 2004, Ron and Fez went back to concentraiting on their evening show, where they hosted the "Fastest Hour" between 7pm and 8pm.

DC Appearances

Ron and Fez's continued to reach out to their listeners with several local appearances during their time in DC. These included:

• Ron and Fez Pool Tournament (2003) - Included a billiards tournament, Fez performing a karaoke version of "Harper Valley PTA", Cigar Sid performing "Sugar Sugar", J Dubs' "Hot Pepper Challenge" and "Fairyoke" (listeners performing karaoke versions of effeminate songs).

• Caddyshack Movie Night (2003) - Included a screening of "Caddyshack" (with Paul O featured as a waiter), "Nut Putt" (where listeners tried to putt golf balls at J Dubs' genitals), "Bobbing for Baby Ruths" (where listeners bobbed for fecal looking candy bars in a kiddy pool), "Gopher Hunt" (where listeners fired paintballs at Paul O), and a new "I Blow" tattoo for Paul O.

• Ron and Fez Poker Tournament (2003) - Included a poker tournament, the "Honeymooner Game", the "Gong Show", the "Mating Game", J Dubs' and Crazy Jen's Fire and Ice Challenge", performances by Monty Love, and a very drunk Silera.

• Hard Rock Cafe - New York Reunion (2003) - Ron & Fez returned to New York for a Crankcase gig at the Hard Rock Cafe and played to a packed upstairs room. Many of the staff alumni like Hawk, Tasteless Ginny, MikeyD, Tenacious C and Billy Staples came by along with many NY friends of the show. Anthony Cumia made a surprise appearance and a huge O&A chant erupted causing the station to pull the plug on the show for over an hour, playing a Best-Of and saying that it was because of technical difficulties.

• The St. Pats Spat (2004) - included the following boxing matches: Spoon vs. Tommy Bateman, El Jefe vs. J Dubs, and Mikey D vs. Wonderboy where MikeyD suffered an embarrassing loss. Also featured were the "Monster Toss" (competition to see who could throw intern Monster the furthest) and Crazy Jen's attempt to eat 50 hard boiled eggs.

• 2nd Annual Ron and Fez Pool Tournament (2004) - included billiards tournament, hypnotism of Fez, Crazy Jen and listeners, a performance of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on sitar by Chapin and Bobo, football trivia, and a listener jingle contest.

• Battle of the Local, Unsigned Bands (2004) - Ron & Fez hosted a showcase of unsigned area bands.

In addition, Fez raced in 2004 and 2005 in an annual charity 5K with fans of the show. In 2005 Fez would meet listeners and friends of the show every Friday night at a Fairfax, VA bar called "Thursdays" for drinking and laughing in a tradition that became known as "Friday Night Lights." Ron made his only appearance at Friday Night Lights at the last one on July 29, 2005.

"The Worst Kept Secret In Radio"

Things began to look bleak for Ron and Fez's future at 106.7 in January 2005 when (after their best ratings book to date at WJFK) the station was forced to absorb the talent from WHFS - a "sister station" that switched formats from talk/progressive to spanish dance. Ironically, this talent included The Sports Junkies, who were given the midday spot many had hoped would have gone to Ron and Fez. The first station casualty, however, was "The Hideout" who lost their late night shift, and eventually relocated to Florida. With nowhere to advance in the station line up, the hosts began to entertain the internet rumors that they would leave terestrial radio, and would join their WNEW friends, Opie and Anthony, on XM satellite radio. Much of 2005 was filled with speculation and hints, but nothing was confirmed until the very last segment, of their very last night on in Washington D.C. - Friday, July 29, 2005.

XM (Now)

On August 1, 2005, Opie and Anthony made the official announcement on their show that Ron and Fez would be joining them on XM Satellite Radio beginning September 12 [1] [2]. On August 9, 2005, Ron and Fez joined Opie and Anthony on their show and provided more behind-the-scenes stories about their time at WNEW. O&A hinted that Ron and Fez would be the first of several shows to join them on 202.

Ron and Fez are scheduled to broadcast weekdays from 11am until 2 pm ET exclusively on XM Channel 202, with scheduled encores airing from 7pm-10pm.

Cast of Characters

Ron and Fez make up "The Ron and Fez Show." As they have said numerous times, there are only two people in their inner circle, and that is them. However, over the years they have made room to let others shine on the radio as well. From producers, to interns, to staff that may work at the station, to listeners, Ron and Fez have an ear for comedy and the experience to help others create humor within their context.

• Ron Bennington - Childhood nickname was "Tex." Stand-up comic. Watches Indie movies. Is easily recognized by his cigar and Kangol hat. Fan of good food. Raised Catholic. Loves Foghat and hookers. Fears "Starland Vocal Band." Once toured with Bill Hicks. Enjoys the many nick-names of Chicago. Is known to "get out the funk."
• Fez Whatley - Childhood nickname was "Ace." Stand-up comic. Watches comic book movies. Is easily recognized by his Tampa Bay Lightning and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tattoos. Pro-wrestling fan. Raised Lutheran. Loves Oreos and football. Fears "The Cane-Pole Gang." Once lived near Hulk Hogan. Enjoys joking about having a fiance' in Niagra Falls Ontario, Canada (see below). Is not known for getting out "his junk."

Producers

Unlike many talk radio shows, The Ron and Fez Show relies on it's producers to act as audience lightning rods. A recurring theme among many of R&F producers are enthusiastic fans of the show, or of radio, who are often at odds with coworkers, listeners and even the hosts. There is little that a Ron and Fez Show producer can do right, in the long run, and eventually most find themselves reduced to tears, often on the air. A sign of a good Ron and Fez producer is someone who can bounce back from the occasional humiliation and separate the difference between show and reality. This trial by fire has been a blessing, as most go on to successful careers in radio.

• Keshia (aka "Peesha"/"NaKeshia") (2005) - Promoted from untrained intern to untrained show producer after Giant Brian jumped ship at WJFK, Keshia quickly found her voice and created a fearless mix of honesty and ditziness. In June 2005, Keshia had to wash Fez's feet when he beat her in a 5K race. Just one week later she lost another race (50 yard dash) and had to run around the outside of WJFK studios in her bra and panties. Keshia's father was a member of the Black Panthers. Has been known to wet her pants when nervous.

• Giant Brian (aka "Radio's Brian Carothers") (2004-2005) - First on-air bit with Ron and Fez was in October, 2004, when he helped shave "Elfish." Very funny and sarcastic, Giant Brian was known during his brief R&F stint for his spot-on impersonation of "Fred Rogers", for his game shows, for his gossiping with managment and for his short lived weekend show, "The Giant Show." When he first started working for R&F, he was taken a-back by the open door policy the show had, and called the listeners that visited the show "groupies." Brian worked closely with Ron and Fez regular Perrynoid (see below) on songs for the two, and it was rumored the two of them were hard at work on a screenplay for a movie called "Mountain Man." Currently The Giant One is the wacky-sidekick of John Debella in Philadelphia, PA.

• Tommy Bateman (aka "Tommy Bats") (2004) - Tommy was a huge fan of Ron and Fez, who became an interim producer after Wonderboy left for North Carolina. Soft spoken on The Ron and Fez Show, Tommy proved he was tough by fighting (and besting) daytime producer, "Spoon," in the 2004 "St. Pat's Spat." Currently the producer of The Hideout in Orlando, Florida with J. Dubs and El Jefe.

• J-Dubs (aka "Justin Johnson/Sargent Spongetounge") (2003-2005) - Began as an interim producer before Wonderboy was hired, Dubs and his radio partner, El Jefe, had a weekend show on WJFK, and then weeknights. Eventually he continued on running the board for the show, and many believe he was one of their best "third mics." Dubs was a brave man, who faced golf balls to the crotch, paintballs to the head and hot sauce in the mouth. His greatest fears were, and still are children and white condiments. One of the highlights of Dubs' time with Ron and Fez was when he convinced Wonderboy to break out his own window in his car in January 2004. J. Dubs was also a frequent guest on The Don and Mike Show. In January 2005, Dubs and Fez appeared on Don and Mike in a very funny game show segment. Currently the co-host of The Hideout in Orlando, Florida with El Jefe.

• El Jefe (aka "The Fat Mexican/El Hefty") (2003) - Host of The Hideout, with J-Dubs. Briefly was an interim producer for Ron and Fez, he shaved his dreadlocks after loosing his fight in The St. Pats Spat to J-Dubs. After Wonderboy was hired, Jefe was moved to the "Dump" room, where his job was to make sure no innappropriate content went out over the air. Currently the co-host of The Hideout in Orlando, Florida with J-Dubs. He is divorced, and sleeps in a sleigh bed.

• Spoon (2003-2004) - Producer and board op for the "Ron and Fez Fastest Hour In Radio," which ran on WJFK in the midday slot (11am - 12am); after Howard Stern, and before Bill O'Reilly. Enjoyed sharing his controversal religious views with listeners.

• Wonderboy (aka "Ray Bottoms") (2002-2003, 2003-2004) - People call him "Wonderboy," but Ray Wagner had several stints at producing The Ron and Fez Show. Known for being a member of the "straight edge" movement, WB was often called out on the carpet when things were not done correctly. The high-light of his time at WJFK was fighting MikeyD. (see above) in "The St. Pat's Spat." The low-light was when he was tricked by J. Dubs into breaking the window of his car. To his defense, he thought he would be winning a BMW if he was the first into his car. It was a trick. Before leaving town (the last time he has been heard on Ron and Fez), he called in from the parking lot where he smashed the window of J. Dubs' car. Currently hosting mid-days on WOBR-FM in Nags Head, NC.

• Mikey D. (2002-2003) - Mikey D. was first known on the show because of his young daughter, Lenay D. (see below), who was a frequent caller. Mikey later became a member of the staff, and would share his stories about life as a child actor. On Broadway, he acted in the "Runaways", which lost out on all five of its Tony nominations to Nell Carter and "Ain't Misbehaving". He recorded the cast album and performed on the Tony Awards. He also performed in "Oliver" with John Carradine. In Hollywood, he did extra work in "The Godfather", "The French Connection" and "Next Stop Greenwich Village." He also toured the east coast with Angela Lansbury in "Gypsy". Mikey D. had a seemingly endless supply of celebrity stories, including one involving a homosexual experience in the back seat of his father's Cadillac on a trip back from Great Adventure with the celebrity's brother and of his times with his mentor Ken Berry who he performed with in the "Music Man" and was a phone-in guest. Mikey D. helped the show move from New York to Washington in 2003, but ultimately returned to New York. In March 2005, he caused Fez to have an on-air (drunken) meltdown after constantly calling attention to the fact that Fez had forgotten his birthday. In the months that followed, Mikey seemed to make matters worse by not "leaving it alone." He continues to be the drummer in the RonFez.net's band Crankcase (see below), and he hosts his own internet radio show - "Mikey D.'s Musical Rollercoaster."

• Rory Hamptons (2002-2003) - Became the full-time show producer after beating Al Dukes in boxing match. Known for his laid back view of life and spending his weekends in the Hamptons. Is a violent drunk.

• Hawk (2001-2003) - Considered by the rest of the staff as the "quiet board op", however, he could often become quite loud after a few drinks on special occasions. Has a love palace in the Poconos.

• Billy Staples (2001-2003) - Started as a character on O&A called the Fat Guy and worked with partner Paul Bond in AirSick Productions writing parody songs. Became phone screener for R&F known for his on and off-the-air controversies followed by open apologies read aloud on the air. Some of his more infamous moments included a prank with Jay Mohr as the Fat Guy on O&A, horrible Dicky Goodman-like songs, horrific stand-up comedy appearance in Red Bank, NJ, a drunken on-air meltdown, romantic encounters gone horribly wrong, and defecating on Al Dukes' paycheck. Pluses include an appearance on Third Watch as a bus driver having a heart attack creating the catch phrase "my chest...can't breath". He also starred as the Hyena in the Incubus video "Talk Shows on Mute". He is a very good gag writer and would always take a bullet for the team like when the BIG ASS Bathroom Award stickers were all given out and he was blamed for not having enough but the real reason was that the promotions manager didn't order enough. • Al Dukes (2001-2002) - Hapless producer with unique world view, eventually removed from the show after losing boxing match to Rory Hamptons. See main article.

• Joe Poo (2001) - Listener turned staff member/announcer for the show, known for his scat-eating jokes.

• Kris "Dumpy" Lopresto (2001) - Quit because he wanted to go to Australia on vacation for six weeks. Was given the name "Dead Air Dumpy", when, while running the boards late night on WNEW, he shirked his responsibilities to have phone sex, and allowed silence over the WNEW airwaves.

• Tasteless Ginny (2000-2001) - Started as a listener and than contributer to show of disgusting and horrific websites. Eventually became a producers of the show during the "Dot Com" days. Current overnight producer at WNEW-FM. Had the unenviable pleasure of administering an enema to Paul O. in preparation for the "Enema Jokeoff" in 2000 after Opie made a dominatrix, who was supposed to perform the task, cry because he said she looked like Joey Ramone.

• Donna G. (2000) - Not much is known about this producer except she left unceremoniously after alleged serious issues with other WNEW staffers.

• Harris Allen (1999-2000) - Previously an on-air jock during WNEW's rock heyday. He's since worked at WFAN, back to WNEW as co-host of Richard Neer's morning show in late 2002, and currently of Sirius Satellite Radio. He still continues to do spot and fill-in work as a 20/20 Anchor on WFAN, usually during the late night or weekend shifts.

• Tuddle (1999) - Fiercely loyal intern from the days of the Ron & Fez show in Florida. Loves Ron & Fez "from the sky to the ground and the whole world round". On visits to the show in New York and Washington, Tuddle was abandoned in the Bronx, beat up women in a boxing match, and challenged Crazy Jen to see how many clothespins he could attach to his face, and passed out in studio from hot sauce shots.

Interns

Much like the producers of the show, R&F Show interns are often fodder for the broadcast. An internship is not considered successful until "Aunt" Fezzie has made one of the interns cry (almost always off the air, but always reported later). Many of the interns exceed in this environment and leave on excellent terms with the show. Whenever possible, Ron and Fez work to find employment post-internship.

• Steve Perry Jr. (2005) - "Wheel in the sky keeps on turning" Refuses to part his hair.

• Crystal (2005) - Managed to get herself pulled over by the cops live on the air while Don and Mike were doing a remote broadcast.

• Keshia (2005) - Intern turned producer. See above.

• Bitz (2005) - Shaky-handed musician who tends to weird people out at first. Beloved because of his auto-biographical song "His Name Is Bitz". Very talented musician who is part of two successful Washington D.C. based punk bands.

• Puck (2005) - Best known for an incident in which he was filmed by WJFK staffer Clementine having sex with listener Thug Lip Annie. He also received a tattoo of J-Dubs's face on his torso and allegedly snapped a deer's neck with his bare hands.

• Benicio (aka Kevin Rogers) (2004) - Now "Chunks" on The Hideout in Orlando, Florida. Rumored to be gay because of his refusal to sleep with women and his unquestionably homoerotic antics. Known for his stunts, his unusual radio voice, his uncomfortable bits and for his large "manbreasts."

• Ogre (2004) - pain pill-popping ex-marine who left the show after running afoul of Giant Brian. Owns his own barbecue company, as well as finds time to work for XM Radio on the NASCAR channel. The ladies love his voice.

• Monster (2004) - Got his name because his southern creepiness reminded the hosts of serial killer Aileen Wuornos' bio-pic "Monster". Moved down to Alabama to be near the son he fathered with his estranged wife. Visited R&F in July 2005, one day before Ron and Fez's final WJFK broadcast.

• Nu Rory (2003) - His show name was inspired by former Ron and Fez producer Rory Hamptons. Also known as "Sideshow" on The Hideout. Known for his song parodies and on-going feud with Perrynoid.

• Cigar Sid (aka "Fat Baby") (2003-2004) - Was removed from his intern position, then re-instated and later removed again for undisclosed reasons. Sid was arrested for drunk driving which fueled the song "Fat Baby" by Perrynoid. He can sing "Taking Care of Business" like no-one's business. A regular on The Hideout with J. Dubs and El Jefe when they were on WJFK, on that show he was known as one half of "The Comedy Dumplings." Now works for Blockbuster.

• Tenacious C (2002-2003) - Female intern known for her use of marijuana Broke Wonderboy's heart and made him a shell of a man.

• Harry Elvis (2002-2003) - Known as the 19-year-old virgin, Harry often performed stunts on the air to impress Ron and Fez, such as dipping his penis in three week old rice pudding. Currently known as "Harry T.", an intern on the Opie and Anthony Show.

• Wild Thing (2002) - the "himbo" intern. Was originally named "Thing 1", but was dubbed "Wild Thing" after "Thing 2", another intern, was fired. Is best known for failing to have sex with a hot, willing female live in the studio.

Callers, Contributors and Other Friends of the Show

Few radio shows encourage the kind of listener interaction that "The Ron and Fez Show" do - some of their most popular radio drama has been fan produced. Going back to their days in Florida, fostering connections with their fans is a staple of all of the incarnations of the show. Whether if it is through the unofficial website (ronfez.net), through Instant Messaging during the show, through phone calls, through the many personal appearances during and after the shows or through the open door policy, listeners of The Ron and Fez Show do contribute to the fluid narrative. While names and characters have come and gone and returned over the years, one thing that has remained consistent is that this legion of nick-named minions are some of the most fiercely loyal, protective and diverse fan bases in modern entertainment.

• ADF (Al Dukes Fan) - Prolific and funny instant feedbacker who also happens to be Fez's arch nemesis. In 2005 Fez was forced to shave his head after losing a summer movie box office bet to ADF - the second year in a row Fez lost this particular bet. ADF Loves chickenfingers.

• Alice Fuzzybutt - Punk rock girl with a heart of gold, Alice is one of the moderators for "RonFez.net," the Ron and Fez messageboard. In October 2001 Fez walked Alice down the isle at her wedding.

• Allie Dudley - Wrestling fan and occasional “Ron and Fez girl” when they were first in New York City. Also dated Joe Poo (see above) briefly.

• Angel Amy - "Do you think we care about her life?" Known for being one of the youngest in-studio contributors to the show during the WNEW era, Amy was responsible for a practical joke when she supposedly tattooed Opie’s face (of Opie and Anthony) on her body.

• Assman- Once weighed 540 pounds. He was able to eat a gallon of soup in under 15 minutes. Was briefly banned from the show for a drunken, accusatory message he left with the show. Had his stomach stapled and since has lost close to 200 pounds.

• Baby Sarah - Taking a cue from the movie "Swingers," "Baby Sarah, along with Baby Anna, Baby Carly, Angry Missy Baby, and other "Ron and Fez Babies", they were a legion of female Ron and Fez fans during Ron and Fez's time in New York.

• Stephen Baldwin - Major Hollywood actor, and Ron Bennington's "best friend." Alec’s brother was an occasional caller and visitor to the studio when the show was on WNEW in New York.

• Black Earl - Former Promotions staffer and board operator at WNEW-FM. Also maintained WNEW's "Public File" (as mandated by the FCC) and recorded public service shows for station on weekends. Earned his name NOT because he is African-American, rather, because of his affinity for black clothing and hats. One of his most infamous moments was when he took an entire workday to hang pictures on the wall at the WNEW studios, followed by the classic line, "What you want on this wall?". Is the subject of Brother Joe Cumia's "Patches" parody song. Proposed the yet un-aired specialty radio show "The Black Rock Coalition", which was supposed to feature African-American rock and roll acts. Like Mikeyboy (see below), Black Earl was a contestant on the now-defunct MTV game show "Remote Control". Beat up Al Dukes at the Second Big Ass Night of Fights. On the August ninth, during their return appearance on the "Opie & Anthony Show" Ron and Fez indicated that Earl would be working on the new show on XM.

• Blind Courtney – Blind listener who beat Fez at skee-ball during a show at Dave & Buster's in 2003. Was taught to drive a car in the WJFK parking lot by show producer, Wonderboy (see above).

• Blowhard/Heckler - A reliable walking encyclopedia of all things old-school, this gregarious caller usually has extreme opinions; his calls polarize the audience more often than not. He was originally known as "The Geographic Heckler" for his ability to insult people from any part of the country. During the time that Ron and Fez were on in Washington, Heckler lead the charge to keep Ron and Fez's names in the news, and helped lead every possible campaign to get them back on the air in New York City. His opinionated blog is a source of equal amounts of amusement and concern on the show.

• Bobo (aka: BoBoGolem) is a self educated, recovering junky and conceptual artist from Baltimore, Maryland. Bobo was a relentless caller and visitor to the Ron & Fez Show at WJFK in 2004 and 2005, and a charter member of Fez's post show group - “Friday Night Lights." He amused Ron and Fez with his colorful stories and knowledge. Bobo (sometimes called "Ba-bo" on the air) was known to take a radical stand on many issues, and to shed the occasional tear at the inequities of the world. Bobo wrote and performed many songs for the show ("You Can’t Say Taint on the Radio," "Pope Bobo, Baby," and "Your Mom's Box") on a variety of unusual instruments. His 2004 Dave & Busters performance of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" on the Sitar, featuring Chapin the intern on vocals (see above) left many people scratching their heads. Bobo began work in 2005 on a painting of Fez using hair cut from Fez's beard (see Photoshop Mike, below). He commandeered "Hey buddies!" as his signature greeting.

• Bonedaddy – Funny instant messenger and film enthusiast during their early days on WJFK, Bonedaddy left D.C. to travel the globe, where his blog updates are often reported on the show. Last heard from in Yemen.

• Bunny – Early in the WNEW era, Bunny was an oddball caller who called in to say "Ron and Fez. I love them. Ron...and...Fez. They're so juicy. I love them," and similar phrases over and over and over again until he got tired or got hung up on.

• Cancer Girl - Beautiful college-age girl who was stricken with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, she underwent chemotherapy in 2002. However, her positive attitude concerning her condition shone through on the show.

• Carter - Admin and owner of RonFez.net. Was encouraged to join the Marines by Ron and Fez, but chose college instead.

• Cherrynoid - Had the original idea for "Perrynoid's Cosmic Circus," an internet radio show (see below) and has written a couple of parody songs herself. Is the love of Perrynoid's life, and his occasional foil. Known for making amateur home video "watersports" porn with Perrynoid. One constant during Ron and Fez's stay in Washington D.C., Cherrynoid helped bring fabulous drama back to the nighttime airwaves.

• Chairman Kaga - TooCute's significant other, he was a frequent guest on the show in 2002, usually taking part in on-air games with TooCute.

• Circus Boy - From the early days of WNEW, performed stunts including fire breathing on the show during the WNEW days - passed away in 2003, unrelated to the show.

• Clementine- A former member of the WJFK sales staff, "Clem" is a 20 something Vietnamese woman with a valley girl accent who was a favorite on most of the WJFK shows (circa: 2004) - Ron and Fez, Don and Mike, and The Hideout. Talked freely about her open marriage to husband "Augie," in early 2005 she dabbled in homemade pornography with a listener and an intern of the Ron and Fez Show.

• Corky - Fez's very Southern real life brother. Got drunk on the air, and occasionally will call the show from a Florida bar, intoxicated. Had to have his feet operated on because he developed "boot foot" from where too tight, pointed boots. Known for the audio drops "I'm gonna turn it up a notch" and "Lemme tell ya somethin.'"

• Craig Coleman - Frequent and funny caller into Ron and Fez during the WJFK days, Craig used a variety of names and voices to get on the air, until he was called out by Ron in 2003 as being the same Craig Coleman that had been known to listeners of The Don and Mike Show (from which he was subsequently banned) as "Lewtard." Also was a regular caller into The Hideout, Craig now is the host of his own weekly internet radio show.

• Crankcase - The RonFez.net band. Featuring Gvac on Guitar, Jersey Rich on bass (see above for both) and Mikey D. on drums (see below). Played several Ron and Fez related gigs, including in 2003 at the "Hard Rock NYC Reunion."

• Crazy Clare One of the "Ron and Fez Girls", she was known for her love of knives being run over her body. Was Sheepy's (see below) prom date for his senior prom in 2002. Cut the clothes off of French Bread Pizza at the first Big Ass Night of Fights.

• Crazy Jen - Budding standup comic, reality show star, internet radio host, Zen mistress, soda can photographer and ramen noodle eater, there is nothing this Trenton, New Jersey native hasn't done for the show since they first arrived to WJFK. Whether if it's attempting to drink a gallon of milk in less than an hour, get a date with Fezzie, enduring Chinese water torture, eating hot sauce while sitting in a tub of ice, super gluing quarters to her bottom, attempting the world record for number of clothespins attached to her face, or trying to eat 50 hard boiled eggs, Jen and her mullet seems to enjoy her stunts more if she knows she will fail. The voice for Roxie Carmichael, Bertha and Joey from the Bronx (see above), Jen's natural "Ho-billy" accent masks the fact that she (according to Ron Bennington) is "oddly hot." However, this is still radio, and her voice and abruptly, anxious delivery is usually reason enough for callers to become sharply divided into "Lover Her" or "Hate Her" camps. in the spring of 2005 Crazy Jen was punished for making a dumb bet and was supposedly banned from the show for 30 days. Always going with "the bit," her current dumb wager with Ron and Fez involves a documentary winning the "Best Picture" Oscar in 2006, and her bare ass hanging out of a polar bear costume.

• Dan from Hoboken - Instant feedbacker who still contributes to the shows, both Opie and Anthony and Ron and Fez, on a very sporadic basis. In 2001 was the inspiration for the "Dan From Hoboken Chokey Award" for getting his tongue tied while trying to get out a joke.

• Don the Hypnotist- Hypnotist who originally came on to help cure Fez's fear of flying, he soon helped create very funny radio by putting Fez, listeners and show staff under.

• East Side Dave- Frequent comedy pyramid contributor. The Lou Gehrig of Bar 9 outings (see Big Ass Appearances, above). Ron and Fez Official Break-Dancer and Singer of the "Theme to Rawhide." Received stink-face from Billy Staples. Also host to his own radio show.

• Eddie Trunk - Host of WNEW’s "Friday Night Rocks" and "Saturday Night Rocks" during Ron and Fez’s time in New York City, he participated in a pseudo-feud with Ron and Fez as a parody of the feud between Opie and Anthony and Howard Stern. This culminated in Ron screaming Trunk's name on air repeatedly and the show being "Dumped Out" to Van Halen's "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love". “Bon Jovi fan since Day One.”

• EffMeBoobs - Known for her rather prodigious bosom, she was one of the "Ron and Fez Girls" during their tenure in New York City. She would frequent the studio to participate in the show, mainly with the other Ron and Fez Girls, and also hang out especially during the infamous "Lights Out Parties." She is also known to be one of the girls dancing in the cages as the naughty Catholic School Girl at the Halloween Bar Crawl at Karavas in 2002. She is currently engaged to Pootertoot (see below), a former member of the message board.

• Elfish/David Lee Kinison – Looking like a cross between David Lee Roth and the late Sam Kinison, he came to the attention of the show when he attempted to have Ron and Fez autograph a page he ripped from a motel bible at a show at a 2003 Dave & Busters appearance in Rockville, Maryland. Was given the name "Elfish" because during a drunken call to the show, he was unable to properly pronounce the name "Elvis". Sang Elvis karaoke on the show, occasionally wearing the official part-elf, part Elvis "Elfish" costume provided by Halloween Goddess (see below). Suffered a heart attack. Had his head shaved on air after losing a bet to Fez on the 2004 MLB American League Championship Series.

• Fluffernutter- Official show cartoonist, Fluff's very original animated Flash movies and illustrations can often be seen at RonFez.net. Favorites included 2003's "Matrix" parody and 2005's "The Ronfather."

• 42nd Delay/The Armenian Swing King – Armenian creative contributor, who lent his song parodies and unique look on life to the show. Mysteriously disappeared after failing to get naked for the Ron and Fez girls as part of a bet that he agreed to satisfy on behalf of his girlfriend.

• Fred The Hair Genius - Personal on-air hair stylist to Ron and Fez.

• French Bread Pizza - A girl who was too hot for Ron to believe. A "camgirl", her webcam pics were shared with the show, and Ron couldn't believe that a girl that was so beautiful was an actual fan of the show until she made an in-studio appearance. That led to many appearances... and clothes being cut off... and whipped cream... and lesbianism... moving on, shall we?

• Gary Wyze - Stand up comic and guest of the show. Was a member of the aborted "White Riot" radio show with Wonderboy, Harry Elvis, and Zak (see above for all). Also was the "plant" contestant on the "Dating Game" at the second Dave & Busters road show.

• Gay Randy – In August 2001, made out with Al Dukes unbeknownst to Al. Al's rage following the incident lead to a broken foosball table, which created more and more radio drama. Threatened to “tea-bag” Al Dukes if he was knocked unconscious at the First Big Ass Night of Fights.

• Genitorturers - "The World's Sexiest Rock Band," Gen and the Genitorturers have been friends of Ron and Fez since their days in Florida when they would be allowed on the show, while the then unknown Marilyn Manson (and “The Spooky Kids”) would have to wait in the lobby to see if they would let him on too - they never did.

• Godzilla - Frequent show caller, guest and Ron and Fez show hanger-oner in "Dot Com" days. Was always the loveable lonesome loser and virgin. Quoted to be the “nicest guy in the world". The 19 year old (aka John) was one of the pinnacle friends of the show. His main gimmick was Weekly Football Picks and sworn bitter enemy of Marine Boy.

• Gvac - Short for "Greg Vacation", he was a caller and the guitarist for the RonFez.net band Crankcase, as well as a man with a reputation for utilizing the message boards as a singles bar. An avid Rolling Stones fan, he also repeatedly smashed Matty Fridays' face during Big Ass Night of Fights 2.

• Hanna Hahn - self proclaimed "Producer who produces results", this fan applied for the position of producer on the show but was rebuffed.

• Hard Rock Johnny - One of the managers of the Hard Rock Café in New York City. Because of the Hard Rock's proximity to the WNEW studios, he was a frequent guest, and contributor on many of the WNEW shows including Ron and Fez, Opie and Anthony and Eddie Trunk as well. Also was known to supply of all the shows (and WNEW in general) with free food on many occassions. (It should be noted that the New Hard Rock cafe, scheduled to open soon, will be located in Times Square and the old location on 57th street will be shuttered)

• Helen/Tellin' Helen - Mikey D's wife, mother of Lenay D.

• Halloween Goddess - this one-time manager of a Virginia costume store was the unofficial costumer for the show, providing the "Elfish" costume and a costume of the Bee Girl from Blind Melon's "No Rain" video for Wonderboy for the second "Dave & Busters" live event. She once employed Paully Loose Bowels (see below).

• Horde King - "Dot Com" show frequent caller and guest who's wisdom and advice evolved him into the show's shrink. He was always willing to offer a helping piece of advice.

• Ice Cream Girl - Dated both Al Dukes and several other people in the Ron and Fez circle during the WNEW stint. Most noted as the catalyst for some of Al's more gay statements. As of 2003, her present whereabouts are unknown.

• Inkgrrrl - One of the "Ron and Fez Girls", this pierced and tattooed lass was best known for being the instigator in the "Chicken Parm" incident with Billy Staples.

• Irish Alkey - Big ears. Latent homosexuality. Doo rags. A lot can be said about Alkey, but he's one of the more popular and creative callers to the show and the various WNEW message boards. Recently fathered a son - the first "official" Ron and Fez baby - with Silera (see below).

• Jafter- Listener/"Remote Producer"/Friend of the show who helped Ron and Fez make the transition to Washington D.C. RonFez.net moderator and organized the annual Ron and Fez Pool Tournaments at Dave & Busters. Jafter has a Wikipedia-like knowledge of all things pertaining to "The Little Rascals."

• Jeff and Missy - Couple who met via the show and the various message boards connected to the show. Jeff was the former administrator of RonFez.net, and Missy ran RFBabies.com. Jeff proposed to Missy on the show in 2004.

• Jersey Rich – Photographer and bassist for the RonFez.net band Crankcase.

• The Jobber - Underage frequent caller during the New York years who referred to himself in the third person and tooled on guests and staff.

• Jonathan & Dru – S&M couple who made several appearances on the show, including a few S&M demonstrations. Eventually they relocated to Florida, and in 2005, when The Hideout relocated to Orlando, became regulars on that show as well.

• Julie Follman - Long time friend of Ron and Fez, she worked at one of their first radio stations in Florida. Currently General Sales Manager, Infinity Broadcasting Corp., Washington, DC.

• Kane/Private Pyle - listener who supposedly had split personalities, Kane/Private Pyle was originally a regular on The Hideout, which followed Ron and Fez in the fall of 2004, but he became a popular addition to the Ron and Fez disciple. The Kane personality is an aggressive pro wrestler, while Private Pyle (a reference to the movie “Full Metal Jacket”) is the decidedly more meek of the two.

• Kathleen from the Bronx & Bri-Bri - Expert at the fine art of the Haiku, Kathleen along with her husband, Brian (aka: Bri-Bri) first met Ron and Fez at a show Open House in January 2004, when Ron and Fez threw open the station doors to make new friends. Being the professional "party animal," Kathleen from the Bronx, and her man, never missed a week of "Friday Night Lights."

• Ken from Portland - Frequent instant feedbacker deemed by Ron to be "the funniest man alive".

• KOP - Listener and friend of the show who frequently took advantage of the show's open door policy while at WJFK, KOP was often accused on the air as wanting to be an "insider." Additional nick names included "Gossipy Gus" and "Lois Lane." First met Ron and Fez at their 2004 Open House, KOP became one of Fez's regular drinking buddies at "Friday Night Lights."

• Lacey/Crystal Beth - A friend Ron and Fez made while in DC, Lacey had a chemical dependency issues, which forced her into rehab for the better part of a year. In 2004 she came in first on Fez's team in the Tim Harmon 5K, however in 2005 she tripped over a baby carriage and fell inches away from crossing the finish line.

• Lazlo - Another charter member of "Friday Night Lights," the end of the week drinking collective organized by Fez Whatley, Lazlo lived close enough to the WJFK studios that he often just wandered in to be part of the show. A smarty-pants computer guy, Lazlo also helped Ron understand string theory on the air.

• Lenay D. - Mikey D's daughter, she is best-known for being a foil to Paul O. Also added the term "Asswhack" to the Ron and Fez lexicon. Maybe the youngest person hosting an internet radio show - at least the youngest that Ron and Fez know of.

• Lisa Croft - Came to prominence when she battled Too Cute (see below) over the right to wear a Lara Croft costume for the Big Ass Halloween Bar Crawl in 2001 (see above). Also punched out Frighty Fright (see above) and later threatened to take Too Cute (see below) down "Frighty Fright Style". Ron was highly enamored of Lisa's quite large and quite fake breasts. (see front)

• Lobster Claws - The catalyst in one of Billy Staples' most memorable in-studio meltdowns, which led to the "Unnnnn, ahhhhh, unnnnn" drop. Also fought Tuttle at the first Big Ass Night of Fights (see above for both).

• Mad Producer - Irrate caller who wanted to straighten out Al Dukes mis-production by bringing in big names guests but never came through.

• Marine Boy - "Dot Com" days contributer of song parodies and fought with Godizilla. His feud with Godzilla had culminated in a “Kid Toucha” bet where the loser of a super bowl bet walked around Times Square with a sign that said “I’m a kid toucha”.

• Matty Fridays - Arrogant yet sensitive, obnoxious yet friendly, handsome yet repugnant, the man known as Fridays is a walking contradiction. Won a "Mystery Date" with TooCute (see below) in late 2001 but he bailed on the date. His mouth led to some interesting verbal exchanges with Al Dukes, and also led to a match with GVac at Big Ass Night of Fights 2 (see above for both). This fight was a "train wreck," as Matty was more interested in protecting his face than fighting GVac.

• Mike the Teacher - For well over a year, Mike the Teacher (or "Mizzle the Tizzle") was the show expert on everything.

• Mikeyboy - remote producer number one and a ronfez.net moderator, Mikeyboy (not to be confused with "Mikey D.") is, for many, the gateway conduit between Ron and Fez's WNEW and WJFK eras, and now satellite. Tapping into his experience as a game show contestant, Mikeyboy also assists the staff with their contests. Like so many Ron and Fez fans, he has his own internet radio show, and when in studio he is usually asked to help with the bumper music.

• Monty Love - Battle of the bands winners at The Feztival of Rock and Ribs in 2002 (see above) that have had multiple appearances on the show as musical performers and in-studio guests. In 2003 they were the house band for Ron and Fez's second "Dave & Busters" appearance - "The Ron and Fez Poker Tournament."

• Moshin - Lead singer for the Mighty Might Moshtones, a one-time incarnation of the band Crankcase. Her “I am NOT a retard!” sound bite remains a popular sound drop.

• Nicotina - Originally a caller for The Hideout, before they moved to Florida, Nicotina would also call Ron and Fez, where she was routinely ridiculed for her raspy, cigarette-abused voice.

• NM The Remote Producer - Instant Feedbacker who coined the phrase and saw the need for the Remote Producer. Was one of the original contributers to the "Dot Com" show via IMs and emails giving ideas, comments, spy-reports, and show production prep when Dumpy or later, Al Dukes, did none. Major contributer to the Web Poll Position question which eventually made it to RonandFez.com as a webpoll: "Three from Ron, Three from Fez and Four from You the Audience...who will assume the Web Poll Position". Came dressed as Black Earl before Stacker Two holding the Public File during the Big Ass Night of Frights. Was the first person to spot Anthony of O&A at the Hard Rock Cafe - New York Reunion and started the infamous O&A chant (see above). Did a bit in-studio where he was trying to replace MikeyD as the show's announcer and did a live show opening. Was on show live in-studio three times. Still an avid listener and contributer.

• Nurse Mira - Named for her Halloween costume. Of Serbian descent, this provided comedy fodder for Ron. Had a cameo on "The Sopranos" as a topless Bada Bing Girl.

• PanterA - Hapless Postal Worker and frequent in-studio guest during the WNEW era. First appeared on Opie and Anthony to lament about his girlfriend, who OPIE AND ANTHONY tooled on him by playing "She's Gone" by Hall and Oates over his sob story. Recovered from that to become a valuable contributor to the show. Currently an admin of RonFez.net.

• Paully Loose Bowels – teenage fan of the show who, along with his older sister, Bethany, would stop by WJFK. Both "Loose Bowel" siblings had their own radio shows - on the internet and in college. Also a fan of The Hideout, Paully one time found J. Dubs' home number and called him on a random Sunday afternoon to see what was going on, something that was brought up on The Ron & Fez Show. After that incident, a faux-Paully Loose Bowels would call into both shows, playing on Dub's irrational fear of children, creeping him out. When it was discovered that Giant Brian, another show producer, had sent an instant message to Paully questions about why he had talked about him on an internet message board, Ron yelled at his producer that listeners are allowed to write whatever they want on the internet, and he should know better than to"attack a child."

• Paul O. - Long time friend of Ron and Fez, going back to the days of "Ron and Ron Show" in Tampa, where he was often asked to perform extreme stunts. Today he is the Ron and Fez movie reviewer who calls in to talk about that weekend's releases. His call-ins usually take a turn for the worse, either with Ron and Fez questioning whether or not he has even seen the movie, discussing potential Oscar Blurbs for the movies, or Ron inquiring about Paul's borderline insane wife who - while they have never even met during their almost 20 year relationship with Paul O. - they are sure is quite obese. On more than one occasion, if she is not properly medicated, Mrs. Paul O. could be heard screaming in the background while her husband tried to give his weekly reviews, sometimes cursing and threatening the lives of him, Ron and Fez. More often than not, Ron will declare at the end of the segment that it is Paul O's last one with the show. In 2003, he visited the WJFK studios for a screening of "Caddyshack" (he has a bit part as a waiter), and, like his old days on The Ron and Ron Show, allowed himself to be tattooed and shot with paint balls.

• Perrynoid - Creative rapscallion, and expert on all things to do with Washington D.C. radio, Perrynoid added to the show with his frequent and original songs about Ron and Fez & their listeners. Since the earliest days of RonandFez.com in New York, up through today, Perry wrote songs about every possible occurrence on the show, sometimes on the fly in the guise of the "Trubanoid." Perry alternated between songs about "Circus Boy," "Crazy Jen," "Fat Baby," "Turdukens," "J. Dubs" to themes of on-the-spot game shows at the drop of a hat. During the WNEW years, fought Billy Staples in a "Big Ass Night of Fights." During Ron and Fez's WJFK stint Perrynoid passed out in the station bathroom. Contributor to the short lived "Giant Show." Often engulfed in several levels of drama, either on or off the air (but never once with either Ron or Fez), Perry often painted himself into the thankless role of the flamethrower. Currently, host and producer and creator of fake radio (radio on the internet), with his show "The Cosmic Circus." (See "Cherrynoid," "Elfish," and "Cigar Sid/Fat Baby," all above. See "Vincy," below)

• Pete Johnson - Former Chief Engineer at WNEW (retired), and one of the "elder statesmen" of the station. Was known for his unique voice and was often called on for historical questions about WNEW. Was a known bit-player on most of the WNEW shows, including Opie and Anthony and Don and Mike.

• Photoshop Mike - During the 2004-2005 NFL season, for no particular reason Fez Whatley did not shave. No one put him up to it - it's just something he decided to try. After the Super Bowl, in February 2005, Fez spent a week removing his big, gross beard in stages, and having the process documented by an avalanche of photographs taken by remote producer Mikeyboy (see above). Little did anyone know, this new content, which was shared on the web within minutes, would provide so much joy to so many people. These pictures of Fez with big beard, with giant mutton-chops, with a wacky handle-bar mustache and finally clean shaven, became the cornerstone of material that inspired a listener (Photoshop Mike - remember him?) to cut and paste Fez's face on hundreds and hundreds of pictures, usually of the morbidly obese. A new nemesis for Fez? In late summer 2005 Mike produced a very funny "Fez Whatley Has A Posse" t-shirt, with Fez's face on Andre The Giant's body.

• Pootertoot - Was once a member and moderator of the message board. Was known for his sick, twisted, demented but very funny humor on the message board. Is now engaged to EffMeBoobs (see above) and they hope to have a lovely little Asian boy together in the future.

• Preset Radio Albert – Blind radio enthusiast who provided the show with “spy reports” of what was being aired on other Washington D.C. radio stations.

• Rooster - American Soldier who called in to the show on a regular basis.

• Sheepy - Instant feedbacker with highly creative and funny feedbacks. The drop of a sad horn fanfare was dedicated to him as the "Sheepy Horn" - usually reserved for bad calls or feedbacks. In 2002, Ron and Fez sent set him up for his senior prom, complete with limo, tuxedo, and a date - Crazy Clare (see above).

• Shelly, the Lonely Girl - Washington caller, and recent transplant to the area, who frequented the station hoping to find a friend. Her views on relationship always drew ire from the listeners.

• Silera - Callipygous (look it up) Dominican firebrand. Recently had a child with Irish Alkey (see above).

• Skellington - Wonderboy's heavily tattooed ex-girlfriend during his time at WJFK she found out about him leaving Washington D.C. (and her) after he told his roommate, Wendell. In 2005 she came back and introduced Ron and Fez to the punk band, “Me Versus The Monster.”

• Stalker Patti - An orphan, this formerly homeless woman used to sleep under the stairs at WNEW. She allowed Opie and Anthony to shave her head twice, and was part of one of a popular “cringe” moments ever on WNEW, when former Opie and Anthony producer Rick Delgado took her wig. In 2004 Patti took her first plane ride anywhere to Washington D.C. where she stayed with Fez for the weekend. Apparently got her life back together in the two years Opie and Anthony were off the air and is living independently in Manhattan and working at Godiva Chocolates.

• Sweet Melissa - Two words, five feet, one voice. Known for her kind demeanor and her sultry voice, she contributed to the show with her "moan-tages" of her gasping pleasurably and saying saucy and naughty things. A listener favorite during the WNEW days, especially live events.

• Swiss Miss - Attractive female caller with an equally attractive younger sister (Swiss Sis) - She was scheduled to have sex with Wild Thing (see above) as part of an on-air stunt, but the end results were tragic.

• Superstar - Maintenance person at WNEW who is developmentally disabled. He was a regular feature on both the Sports Guys show as well as the mid-day version of Ron and Fez's show, and featured a segment called "Good, No Good" where Ron would quiz Superstar about good or no good things, like putting babies in the microwave. Also responsible for lost mail, stolen televisions, and trash removal.

• Tender & Kathy - Engaged couple. Tender is a musician and self-appointed "observer" turned realtor, and Kathy is a therapist. In 2005 Tender, who in the 1980s was part of the rock combo "The Bouncing Balls" which had a video played on the earliest days of M-TV, wrote a number of songs for the show, most notable the "Friday Night Lights" song, "Pee-Shy Fezzie" and "The Call that Melted Fezzie Down" about the on-air meltdown by Fez on his birthday (see "Mikey D." above). Tender, himself, had an awkward, on-air clash with the show because he felt that he wasn't getting the respect and attention that he deserved. Has not been heard from since.

• Thug Lip Annie- Seemingly normal looking fan who has "Thug Life" tattooed on the inside of her bottom lip. Starred in an amateur porn with show intern Puck.

• Too Cute - Local New York graduate student with in-depth knowledge of many academic subjects. Battled Lisa Croft over the right to wear a Lara Croft costume in 2001, finally settled on a Wonder Woman costume. Fantastic designer - her costumes have also included a spot-on Arden from "Lord of the Rings" and Evil-Lyn from "Masters of the Universe.” Received a bloody nose during her participation in Big Ass Night of Fights 1. Selected Matty Fridays (see above) for a Mystery Date in 2001, but he bailed on ever taking her out.

• UFO Phil - Originally a friend of The Hideout, this UFO enthusiast started calling Ron and Fez to breathe heavily into the phone, and to provide details about Zaxon and how to tell the good aliens from the bad aliens. “Can you keep a secret?”

• Vincy - DC area listener of the show, Vincy was often involved in the dramas that involved Perrynoid (see above) and The Cosmic Circus. Also was there for Fez for the occasional in-studio massage.

• Wendell - Former engineer for WJFK and roommate of Wonderboy, he was a regular fixture on many of the shows on the station, including Ron and Fez and Don and Mike. In 2003, he was given an on-air extreme makeover to help him find a woman. In 2004, after Wonderboy left for North Carolina, Wendell followed, leaving his job in D.C.

• Winnie Cooper - Guest best known for her singing voice and promiscuity. Created show drama when she came down to DC for the "St. Pat's Spat" to spend some time with Nlovableu Rory, but instead blew him off for a marathon sex session with Tommy Bateman (see above for all).

Comedy

Ron and Fez are seasoned comedians who can make being funny and interesting on the radio sound easy. While they seldom rely on old material for laughs, they do know that several of the characters, bits and catchphrases that have developed over the years have become popular with their listeners, and weave and repurpose them into the show when appropriate.

Characters

• Andre the Giant - Caller claming to be the late wrestler and actor Andre the Giant. Known for becoming angry and scared at the mentioning of snakes; loves giving his physical stats at a moment's notice.

• Bertha - Whenever "Roxie Carmichael" or "Joey from the Bronx" aren't calling in for Crazy Jen (see below for all), sometimes this large, husky sounding woman will do the trick.

• Bobo The Handyman - Fictional employee of the Whatley family. Was featured in the Fezitorials Fez told of his childhood in Florida. Not to be confused with real life friend of the show "Bobo Golem" (see below).

• Clementine - Real life WJFK sales person, in early 2005 Clementine (see below) also became a popular fictional character for many of the members of the Ron and Fez family.

• Fez's Fiance - Fez has never taken a bride, but that's not for the lack of game. The never seen or heard from fiance from Niagra Falls, Ontario Canada conveniently could never be reached on the phone whenever Fez's radio partner, Ron, began questioning him on whether or not she even existed. In 2003 Fez and his supposedly lady love finally set a date, but they did not close the deal. In 2004 this bit was retired to make way for "2005 - The Year of Fez Dating."

• Fuzz Whatley - At the urging of long time friend and WJFK uber-sales woman, Julie Follman, in 2004 Fez allegedly took in a kitten he named "Fuzz." Oddly enough, this was also about the same time he became the WJFK spokesperson for a national cat food company. Interestingly enough, when the ads stopped running in September 2004, "Fuzz Whatley" stopped being mentioned on the show.

• Foul Mouthed Elmo - Sesame Street puppet who called with a nasty demeanor. Most of his calls would usually be self-censored with "beeps" due to his heavy use of curse words.

• Fred Rogers- During the 2005 "Giant Brian" era of producing R&F, "Fred Rogers" often called in during the "Bad/Awkward Guest" segments, often praising the guests for the little things that he "knew they could."

• Jan Brady - The middle daughter of Mike and Carol Brady, there is rarely a topic that is brought up on The Ron and Fez Show that can't be related to Jan's own sad life as a member of "The Brady Bunch." In the summer of 2005, Jan crossed over to The Don and Mike Show when it was rumored that D&M producer, Beth Ann McBride, was going to date "George Glass" - Jan's boyfriend.

• Joe Lieberman - During the 2004 Presidential election, "Joementum" and "Liebermania" was sweeping the country. Whenever a story about this conservative Democrat would be mentioned in the news (usually during "The Fastest Hour in Radio"), suddenly there "Joe Lieberman" was in studio, sounding more like "Droopy Dog" than a distinguished U.S. Senator.

• Joey from the Bronx- In 2005 "Joey from the Bronx" called in several times to plead on the behalf of Crazy Jen (see below) whenever she found herself banned from the show ("Thirty Days In The Hole!") A sexist loud mouth, he is in no way related to the real life "Kathleen from the Bronx" (also see below).

• Iris - Raspy voiced elderly woman from Bay Ridge Brooklyn who often complained about the Jewish community who inhabited parts of Brooklyn. Long time member of the Ron and Fez Show, you never know when Iris will call in with her perspective of current events, or her impression of the show, or it's guests. Often the first one on the phones whenever R&F have a "Bad Guest," in 2005 Iris frequently confused the guests with her intriguing questions that often didn't pertain to the subject. Catchphrases: "My husband won't go near my patch."'"Iris loves you" and "I'll hang up and listen."

• Kenny Allen - Young boy, recognizable by his overly whiney voice. Loved to play games with Ron & Fez and slurped a lot, but often threatened to tell his mother. Had very creative theories about robots. Hasn't been heard from since 2002. Catchphrase: "Nooooooooooo...I'm the one who says things"

• Joe Pee - Caller who claimed he "drank his own pee" (Joe Pee is a takeoff of Joe Poo's claim that he "ate his own poo").

• Martin the Retard - Originally Retard Eddie during the Florida days, Martin was a mentally challenged young man who loved puppies and was tormented by Fez.

• The Nature Boy - Wrestler who would drop by the show to give entertainment updates. Catchphrase: "You may not like it, but you will learn to love it, Whoooooo"

• Roxie Carmichael - From Savannah, Georgia, this Southern belle would often call with questions during the bad guest segment in 2005. Roxie made her first appearance at the beginning of 2005 when R&F announced they were getting rid of all the old characters, and had (once again) banned Crazy Jen.

Catchphrases, Cliches and Drops

• 12 Step Programs - Jokes about things pertaining to "the program" are a constant on the show.

• "And I'm your announcer..." - Phrase used by the announcers to close the introduction segment of the show open. Was used by Joe Poo, Tenacious C, Wonderboy, Mikey D, and others. Mikey D's version was turned into a drop.

• "Bring Me the Big Knife!!" - Oftentimes said by Ronnie, the quote is "Bring me the big knife! I'm gonna cut my throat!" from the movie Moonstruck. Fez will usually respond with "DON'T YOU GET HIM THAT KNIFE!"

• Cocaine is constantly used as punchline supplement by Ron, usually pertaining to their days in Florida.

• Chicken Parm - Running joke about Billy Staples (WNEW staff member) who had his date leave him and hook up with another guy later the same night - this happened twice to him with the same girl.

• Flair Chops/Neck Slaps - Administered by Ron or Fez to someone (usually an intern or producer) if they lose a bet or screw up. The Flair Chop is from Wrestler Ric Flair - it is an open-palm strike delivered to a bare chest in a sweeping motion (like Ric Flair. The Neck Slap is a smack to the back of the neck; Crazy Jen taught them that it hurts more if you wet the palm first.

• Hetereosexuality - Is Fez...or isn't Fez? The debate rages on.

• "Hey!!!!" - Fez Whatley's safety word when surprised by something unexpected. Don and Mike picked this up during commercials and helped make it his identifier.

• "Hey Geeeeeeeery." - Fez's response to any caller name "Gary".

• "Hi Fezzie. || Oh, hi, Elfish." - Seinfeld-like greeting exchange between Elfish (see above) and Fezzie.

• "HowCanIBeTheManIfYou'reTheMan" - Drop and catchphrase from former WNEW morning man Scott Ferrall.

• "I'm the one who says things!" - Kenny Allen catchphrase (see above), played at the start of the show for over a year.

• "I blow." - Fez's voice captured out of context. For much of 2003 into 2004 Ron would play this at inappropriate times. While this clip was eventually retired, it was what began their fun of isolating themselves for playing later (see "Isolate that!" below). This phrase was tattooed on Paul O. (see above) when he visited Washington for the Caddyshack movie screening.

• "Isolate that!" - Usually yelled out by Ron if Fez makes an innocent statement that would be funnier out of context, usually of a sexual nature. Occasionally Ron will say something that he realizes would be embarrassing if isolated and will yell at the producers or interns that he will be pissed if they "isolate that!" Since they were around when this began, this phrase has been adopted by El Jefe and J. Dubs of The Hideout on their new show in Orlando.

• "It don't make you a bad person" - Ron's response when someone relates their behavior to addictive behavior, usually reserved for alcohol or drug use.

• "Nice Girl, Nice Family... SHE'S A HOOKER!!" - A Rocky Horror Picture Show audience participation punchline Ron and Fez co-opted and repeat in unison if a woman is mentioned as being "a nice girl."

• "Now I'm starving." - Ron's pavlovian response to any mention of any food.

• Orange Ball of Failure - Billy Staples (see above) nick name after his stand-up comedy routine (in Red Bank) bombed. He was wearing an orange t-shirt.

• "Red State Update! Red State Update!" - Drop played for conservative or rural callers.

• "Rude and Rude!!!" - early Fez catch-phrase, usually describing someone who was sarcastic to Fez. It was used as a near automatic response if Fez's sexuality was questioned.

• "See-YUH!!" - Closing for the show.

• "Shake it up!!" - Another Scott Ferrell sound byte.

• Sheepy Horn - Sad horn fanfare drop is that used to be reserved for people who bomb on the show (see "Sheepy" above).

• Spy Report - The drop, voiced by Steve C. (Martini Steve) of the Opie and Anthony show, is usually played if a caller has a news flash or breaking information for the show.

• "That's the end of my show... DONK!" - A clip from the Flash cartoon site HomestarRunner.com, in 2004/2005 this was played to indicate the abrupt end of a show.

• "White People Are So Scared...of Black People" - This line from Ani DiFranco's song "Subdivision" is played whenever someone sayss some sort of racist view on the show - perceived or otherwise.

• "Who-Ha" - Drop of Al Pacino from Scent of a Woman, typically played when a caller says his Big Ass card number (see above).

• "Your Mom's Box" - Opie and Anthony catchphrase meant to be used as the last words before being taken off the air, Ron and Fez appropriated the phrase four time in 2005, at the end of 4 different shows show. The first three times they put the condition "Because you never know..." before it, but on the last WJFK (July 29, 2995) it was said by everyone in the studio.

Music

Ron and Fez are also known for the eclectic music they use as part of their show open or the various beds they use coming in and out of breaks. Some of these selections have included:

• "Cow and Chicken Theme" - From the Cartoon Network series, edited to include crowds shouting "RON" and "FEZ.".

• Cracker - "Happy, Happy Birthday to Me" - Birthday song played during the "Dot Com" days when a listener's birthday was being shouted out.

• Insane Clown Posse - "Oddities" - Originally featured as the theme music for the Oddities stable in the WWE during its "Attitude" era, it was adopted by Ron and Fez as the show opener during the entire WNEW era.

• J. Geils Band - "Cruisin' For A Love" - Opening theme used in 2005, the bluesy piece with harmonicas and dirty guitars was most often noted, falsly, for having be proof that Ron and Fez were returning to New York because of its lyric, "I'm back on Broadway." Listeners in late 2004 know that Ron had a rediscovery of the J. Geils Band, and that the song and the band was back into rotation months before any speculation of leaving Washington D.C. began.

• Tomoyasu Hotei - "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" - "Kill Bill" theme music, this instrumental guitar and horn piece was used for the opening fo the show soon as it debuted as part of the first Kill Bill teaser trailer.
