USA Jet Airlines is an American air carrier. It operates on-demand air charter passenger and freight flights out of Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti, Michigan, as well as aircraft on a government contract out of Albuquerque International Sunport in New Mexico.[1]

In March of 2008 USA Jet was awarded it first public charter contract, officially making it a scheduled airline. The company plans further growth of its scheduled passenger flying. It is a division of Active Aero Group. The airline operates a fleet of DC-9 and Dassault Falcon 20 aircraft.

A USA Jet DC-9 was painted and used for the filming of the movie We Are Marshall.

Accidents

On July 6, 2008, USA Jet flight 199, a DC-9-15, crashed at 2:15 a.m. as the freighter approached Plan de Guadalupe International Airport in Saltillo, Mexico, carrying a load of auto parts.

While attempting to land, the cargo plane, crashed splitting into four pieces and scattering debris across an area of about 600 meters in diameter.[2]

The flight originated in Hamilton, Ontario and stopped in Shreveport, Louisiana en-route to Saltillo. The crash killed the pilot, Captain Lon McIntosh, and severely injured the co-pilot.[3][4]
