Turkish people articles

Can we please try and work together to make the Turkish people artile a GA. Also I have concerns with the Turkish article (tr:Türkiye Türkleri) there seems to be hardly any information about Turkish people- I am also concerned about the name of the article 'Türkiye Türkleri' means the Turks of Turkey, but would this include Turkish Cypriots, Turks in macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece?... shouldnt it just be Turkler? because Turkish people do not call other Turkic groups Turkler (e.g. an Azeri or Turkmen) Turco85 (talk) 00:53, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd call it Turkic people in Turkey; Turkic by lineage, Turkish (Turkey) by nationality. --Adoniscik(t, c) 15:21, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You cant call it Turkic people in Turkey because %90 of Turkish people are indigenous Anatolians not real Turkics, although they speak Turkish.

ATA TV up for deletion

Can we get someone who knows about this television network to help with this page? It is a short article written mostly in Turkish and needs translation and context. I'm not too familiar with the subject area but this appears to be an international news source and the sort of thing we should cover on the Wikipedia. Squidfryerchef (talk) 02:48, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just leave the first sentence. TV stations pass for notable, right? --Adoniscik(t, c) 03:15, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, some editors will argue that, but inherent notability for TV stations never reached consensus. Plus, with TV stations in the US its possible to fill out quite a bit of the article based on FCC and other databases, regardless of whether there's articles in secondary sources. I don't think that information is as widely available for Turkey, and we can't leave it as just one sentence. Maybe someone who's familiar with the network will know where to get more articles about the station. Squidfryerchef (talk) 14:29, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish new lira looks like it is ready to be merged into Turkish lira. Will someone knowledgeable please take a look and decide? --Zlerman (talk) 16:43, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

genocide claims by the Greeks

I have only seen for the first time the article Greek genocide. Can somebody please tell me if this is actually recognised? and if not we might as well make a Turkish genocide article! Honestly wikipedia should be named genocideipedia due to all the claims by Greeks and Armenians towards the Turkish people. Justinz84 (talk) 16:05, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I take it you haven't seen the Kurdish genocide (WWI) and Assyrian Genocide articles. It's hard to keep track these days... --Adoniscik(t, c) 16:08, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
