Sirsaganj is located at 27°03′N78°42′E / 27.05°N 78.7°E / 27.05; 78.7.[1] It has an average elevation of 162 metres (531 feet). A well known Geeta eye hospital and Government hospital is located in sirsaganj.
Geeta Eye Hospital was founded by Late Dr K P Singh, the eminent ophthalmologist of his time. He started this hospital at Sirsaganj with way back in 1948, after Indian independence. Gradually he made it to a locally famous hospital. In 1980 Dr D Nath after completing his residency in Ophthalmology and along with his small team started working here. Gradually with his hard work and passion for his profession he bought an institute out of a small hospital. Now this place is known not only nationally but globally for the quality of work and patient care. This institute is especially known for its hands on training for Cataracts (phacoemulsifiacton & MD II).
This institute is specifically concentrates on the sub urban and the rural setting in northern- central India. Bateshwar
Bateshwar is situated at a distance of 23 km from Sirsaganj, in the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh on the banks of river Yamuna. Bateshwar is an important spiritual and cultural centre. Bateshwar is the birth place of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
It is known for the 101 Shiv Bateshwar Temple situated on the banks of Yamuna and Shaouripur, near Bateshwar, which is the birthplace of the 22nd Tirthankar of Jain faith, Lord Neminath. Each year the region hosts a cattle fair in October and November. The commercial livestock event is also of significance to Hindus, who make pilgrimage to the river Yamuna in honor of Lord Shiva.
There are 101 temples in one row on the banks of Yamuna, these temples was built by Raja Badan Singh Bhadauria on a dam made to divert the flow of river Yamuna. Every year Big Cattle Fair is organised at Bateshwar.Fair is held in the month of October and November.
