List of opera houses

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Pashko 2 (talk | contribs) at 13:07, 23 September 2014 (→‎Ukraine). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Opera houses are listed by continent, then by country with the name of the opera house and city; the opera company is sometimes named for clarity.

Note: there are many theatres whose name includes the words Opera House but which do not currently put on opera regularly (or, in some cases, at all). Such theatres are not included in this list.

However, in some cases, articles exist for historically important houses which no longer present opera or which may have been destroyed. These articles will remain on this list.

Opera house of the month: August's focus is on Italy's Teatro di San Carlo, the oldest continuously active venue for public opera in Europe, opening in 1737.
