Comma in 'As of' template

Hi Wavelength.
Just wanted to point out that the comma you put after 2015 in the {{As of}} template here, is not needed and actually put the page in a non-existent category, 'Articles containing potentially dated statements from 2015,'. Directory edits reverted

I noticed that you reverted my edits on the wikiproject council page and on WP:WikiProject Directory. The first one you reverted was an accident on my part so im sorry about that but WP:Directory has a link to WP:WikiProject Directory so I wanted to add a link to that page as a sort of back button. I am working on cleaning up the multiple directories and making an easier user interface for them so please dont revert my edit on the latter page if I make it again. It is nice to meet you. Hi again, I always forget to add edit summaries and sometimes I am in a rush to make edits quickly as to provide less disruption due to the construction so I dont add them. I redid my help edit with a length edit summary explaining my changes. And I know to use my sandbox and they arent test edits. I am simply trying to organize the directories and provide a better look. I took on this project because I was having trouble navigating and I wanted to adjust things to be more user friendly. You might think that the edits have little benefit because they are formatting and not adding content but I feel the benefit. Spelling of "led"

From 01:44, 21 September 2015 (UTC) to 00:13, 24 September 2015 (UTC), I corrected hundreds of misspellings of "led" (the past tense and the past participle of the verb "to lead"). I located those misspellings from the search results for the character string lead by. Here is a link to a record of 2,100 consecutive edits with the same edit summary.

Categorisation

Appreciate your help with the uncategorised categories, it's one of those boring jobs that just has to be done, and the more people doing it the easier it becomes. One request though - 90% of category names are in two parts, and you can usually generalise both halves to form a parent category. So for instance, Category:Women cardiologists can go into Category:Cardiologists and Category:Women physicians. Also, you can often clone categories from similar ones - so I was able to clone the categories for Category:Wind farms in Uganda from Category:Wind farms in Kenya. Anyway, keep up the good work. I placed Category:Women cardiologists in only one larger category to save time, although I was aware that it was not the only larger category. I hope to comply with your request in the future.

Half hour

When used as a noun, half hour should not be hyphenated. See this, this and this. Can you please fix Wiktionary to clarify that the hyphenated form is for use as an adjective. -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:27, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

According to many dictionaries listed at http://www.onelook.com/?w=half-hour, the hyphenated form can be a noun.

This is a bothersome 30 minutes. Trains depart on the half hour. Give me a half hour to finish this. There is but one half hour between 11 and 11.30. Neither 29 nor 31 minutes a half hour make. Wavelength – This is offered as a bit of collegial advice. I hope you will take it in that spirit; you are also free to ignore it.

You are clearly passionate about the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of multilingual websites. That's good. I am a professor of linguistics, so you don't have to work very hard to convince me that multilingualism is an important aspect of life and society.

At the same time, though, you've made a lot of comments, many of them quite lengthy. Doing so might not have the effect you are hoping for. As the essay Wikipedia:Wall of text suggests, "the longer it [a discussion] is, the less of it people will read." You've made some good points, and may have more to make, but I would caution you against repeating yourself or giving the impression that you are trying to control the discussion.

That is not to say that you cannot make multiple comments, and I certainly don't want to dissuade you from making every relevant argument. It is, as I say, offered as advice about tone and tactics. Even just one objection thought to be irrefutable might be sufficient for deletion if the closing editor is not aware that it can be refuted. This approach of "writing the job description" as "[o]ne of the first tasks" appears to be in agreement with Arnold B. Kanter, The Essential Book of Interviewing (ISBN 0-8129-2281-6), pages 5 and 6.

Perhaps, instead of asking supervisors to list the characteristics they are looking for, we should ask them to define what the job requires. This is a way of checking whether the characteristics they believe are necessary to perform the job are in fact necessary. Ask them to answer the question "What does a person have to DO in this job?"

Once we have identified the actual tasks a person must perform in the position, it becomes easier to assess the specific characteristics a candidate must have in order to perform those tasks.

Every now and again editors will save a comment on the same page at nearly the same moment and the software will glitch. Looking at the time stamps makes it clear that this is what happened. I have no doubt that an edit conflict was not triggered in this example, nor that the removal was an unintentional act. Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006

I saw you recently edited on Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32), and you have been contributing here for over ten years. Thank you.

Maybe you can help me, or send me in the right direction. I added an exacting internally referenced citation about the continuation of AB32-related legislation (SB 32, which the California Assembly and Senate passed last week; and the AB 197 companion bill), see inline reference from above mentioned citation.

From some inexplicable reason the addition was reverted with a perplexing edit summary of "contributes nothing and appears to be WP:FRINGE". There are no theories mentioned, let alone fringe ones.

Even though we had a quasi-productive interaction previously; maybe User:Zackmann08 was thrown-off by the title of the citation without even looking at the content?

ExxonMobil climate change controversy, help?

Maybe you could help clear-up some confusion again, this time at ExxonMobil climate change controversy?

An editor deleted what seems to be a well-sourced sentence about global warming and just left a comment "not about climate change"?

Reference examples:

• titled "A New Debate Over Pricing the Risks of Climate Change"
• titled "SEC Probes Exxon Over Accounting for Climate Change"
• an excerpt from another reference "Environmentalists cheered the S.E.C. inquiry in hopes that regulators were escalating their enforcement on the oil and gas industry to include more rigorous reporting to investors on the potential risks of climate change to their businesses."
• and another reference excerpt "An added twist is that the SEC is also reportedly interested in how Exxon factors potential carbon regulations into how it values its reserves, dovetailing neatly with several state investigations into whether the oil major covered up knowledge about the impact of climate change."

While I understand my wording choice is open to modification, I don't understand how it is "not about climate change". The editor didn't leave anything on Talk:ExxonMobil climate change controversy. I left them a message on their talk page, without a response. And left a message at another "involved editor", but he appears to be offline.

You added the following text: "In September 2016, the Securities and Exchange Commission requested information from ExxonMobil on the company’s longstanding policy of not writing down the value of oil reserves, as other energy companies have done in the recent past." Four references immediately follow that text. The text itself does not mention climate change, although the references do so. I advise you to mention climate change in the text (preferably with some unique information from each of the four references), before adding it again.
