Hozat (Template:Lang-ota and Template:Lang-ku[2]) is a small city and its surrounding district in Tunceli Province of Turkey. It has a population of 4,714. Seyfi Geyik from the Republican People's Party (CHP) was elected mayor in the local elections in March 2019.[3] Kaymakam is Cuma Emeç.[4]
In the 10th century, it was known as Chozanon (Template:Lang-el), and formed a thema after its conquest by the Byzantine Empire shortly after 938.[5]
